Chaotic Sword God

The Scholar Capital Master left the Modest Silence Heaven, but he did not intentionally conceal his presence. Perhaps this was a result of habit or he was far too panicked. As a result, many Immortal Exalts on the Modest Silence Heaven sensed his swift departure.

In another region under the control of the Alliance of the Immortals, another mountain reached into the clouds. A woman in a white dress sat there and gave off a gentle gaze. She unintentionally radiated with a tremendous presence that could bring many Immortal Exalts chills.

She was the Dreaming Autumn Nun, a Sixth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, one of the three sages of the Modest Silence Heaven!

The Dreaming Autumn Nun opened her eyes slowly. She gazed in the direction that the Scholar Capital Master departed towards and furrowed her brows firmly. She said softly, “The Scholar Capital Master has left the Modest Silence Heaven? He’s left in such a hurry that he hasn’t even bothered to notify anyone. What’s going on?”

“Greetings, Dreaming Autumn Nun!” At this moment, several Immortal Exalts visited her. They first bowed towards her politely before one of them said, “Your holiness, we just sensed that the Scholar Capital Master has left the Modest Silence Heaven. We’re currently at a critical juncture in our war against the Modest Silence Alliance, so we’re all very concerned about the disadvantages that the Scholar Capital Master’s absence will cause.”

“If the Scholar Capital Master is only gone for a short time, then it’s fine, but if he doesn’t return any time soon, we’ll be in trouble,” another Immortal Exalt said with a face filled with worry.

The Dreaming Autumn Nun did not budge, remaining in the same seated posture as before. Seriousness filled her different gaze. She said slowly, “The Scholar Capital Master is not unfamiliar with the situation of the Modest Silence Heaven, so you don’t have to worry about this.”

The Dreaming Autumn Nun continued, “However, our Alliance of the Immortals has indeed weakened drastically with the Scholar Capital Master’s temporary absence, so we need to raise our vigilance during this time and prevent the Modest Silence Alliance from taking advantage of us.”

“It’s just as the Dreaming Autumn Nun has said. We need to increase our vigilance during this time, just in case the Modest Silence Alliance launches a counterattack.”

“The experts of the Modest Silence Alliance are all hiding in the Eight Lightning Venerable’s lightning formation. Who knows if the Scholar Capital Master’s sudden departure will lure them out?”

The Immortal Exalts took their leave. The Dreaming Autumn Nun’s gaze returned to the direction that the Scholar Capital Master had left. A hint of worry flashed through the depths of her eyes.

……

…

Elsewhere on the Modest Silence Heaven, a colossal formation of lightning basically enveloped a quarter of the entire Modest Silence Heaven.

At this moment, a divine hall crackling with violet light hovered in the centre of the lightning formation. Powerful bolts of lightning wove through the surroundings, and the pressure of a high quality god artifact filled the air.

An old man in violet robes stood inside the divine hall. He gazed into the distant sky as if he could see through galaxies and peer into the deepest depths of space.

“Why is the Scholar Capital Master leaving the Modest Silence Heaven at a time like this? Without him, the Alliance of the Immortals cannot stop me with just the Dreaming Autumn Nun,” the old man in violet robes said gently.

He was the last sage of the Modest Silence Heaven, the Eight Lightning Venerable!

At the same time, he was the undisputed greatest expert on the Modest Silence Heaven. Neither the Dreaming Autumn Nun nor the Scholar Capital Master could match him alone in combat.

Of course, if the two of them worked together, the Eight Lightning Venerable would be forced to flee.

“Don’t tell me the Scholar Capital Master has intentionally left the Modest Silence Heaven so that they can lure me into launching a proactive attack against the Alliance of the Immortals? When I’m caught up in battle with the Dreaming Autumn Nun, will he make a return and heavily injure me with that opportunity?” The Eight Lightning Venerable guessed. With the lightning formation, he could stop both the Dreaming Autumn Nun and the Scholar Capital Master.

However, if he left the lightning formation, he would be overwhelmed.

“Eight Lightning Venerable, the Scholar Capital Master has already left the Modest Silence Heaven. The Alliance of the Immortals has suffered a severe blow to their forces. I suggest we use this opportunity to attack. Don’t become locked in battle with the Dreaming Autumn Nun and instead concentrate your strength on killing some of their Immortal Exalts,” an Immortal Exalt ancestor outside the divine hall wrapped in lightning said.

“Yeah, we’ll retreat after that attack. Once the raid is complete, it’ll be useless even if the Scholar Capital Master returns.”

……

…

In a cave that meandered downwards inside the Skyscraping World, Jian Chen stood alone beside a small pool. He was in thought.

The pool beside him was only ten metres across. At this moment, it shone so brightly that it resembled the sun. It dyed the dark cave snowy-white. Even making direct eye contact with it was difficult.

There was no fluid in the pool. There was only virtually endless sword Qi, resembling a limitless supply.

A special plant grew in the centre of the sword Qi. It was only three metres tall and seemed to be composed of sword Qi, shining with blinding light. A fruit that resembled a sword grew from its very top.

The fruit was the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing. It was nourished by endless sword Qi; it grew by devouring sword Qi. It was a heavenly resource that specially targeted sword spirits.

Even across the Immortals’ World, this was an extremely rare variety. It was very seldomly seen.

“Master, at this growth rate, it’ll only take around three hundred years before the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing goes up another grade. However, if you add some special heavenly resources to the sword pool, the time of growth will shorten drastically,” the voices of the twin swords rang out in Jian Chen’s head with excitement and elation.

The Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing was already a high grade God Tier fruit, but there were varying levels of strength among high grade God Tier fruits as well.

God Tier fruits could be divided into finer grades, like how first to third grade was low grade, fourth to sixth grade was mid grade, and seventh to ninth grade was high grade!

The Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing was currently at the seventh grade, which was the lowest grade among high grade God Tier heavenly resources. If it increased further, it would reach the eighth grade.

“You know exactly what kind of heavenly resources there are inside the Primeval Divine Hall. If I nourish it liberally, how soon can it reach the eighth grade?” Jian Chen asked. He was obviously aware that the higher the grade of the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing, the more helpful it would be to the sword spirits.

“If you nourish it liberally, then it’ll need three years at most,” said Zi Ying.

“Less than three years?” Jian Chen made up his mind. He gritted his teeth. “Zi Ying, Qing Suo, pick out the heavenly resources from the Primeval Divine Hall and make the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing reach the next grade as quickly as possible according to your method.”

“Not a problem. However, master, now that the concealing formation at the entrance is gone, the presence here will leak out, and it’ll draw over nearby experts. We need to take precautions for that,” Qing Suo said in worry.

When he heard that, Jian Chen took out the formation banners he had collected at the entrance with a flip of his hand.

Looking at the set of formation banners, Jian Chen felt a little powerless.

The formation created by the formation banners was of a very high quality. It could basically conceal the presence here perfectly, but he obviously could not set it up without the corresponding method.

Naturally, he could not deduce the method for arranging the formation banners in such a short amount of time.

“I’ll have to hope that no one passes by this place in the next three years. After all, with my current ability, the isolating formations I cast can fool some weaker cultivators, but if I encounter some stronger Immortal Emperors or even Immortal Exalts, setting up a formation here would be no different from public advertisement,” Jian Chen thought to himself. Isolating formations were different from concealing formations. Isolating formations could block off all senses from passing through, but they could still be detected.

Meanwhile, concealing formations were for deception, creating a situation where it was impossible to discern them through the senses of the soul or through vision.
