Chaotic Sword God

Many Immortal Exalts waited on the long steps. With the skinny middle-aged man and the Profound Spirit Master’s sudden departure, the other Immortal Exalts had no idea what had happened but were alerted. They all followed behind them with various ideas in mind, also leaving the stone steps and making their way towards the bottom of the mountain.

In a split second, not a single person was left on the stone steps!

“Fellow Profound Spirit, what has happened? Why have you left with such urgency?” the Scarlet Fire Immortal Exalt and the Black Wind Immortal Exalt caught up with the Profound Spirit Master and asked curiously.

The Profound Spirit Master’s eyes shone extremely brightly, with hints of excitement and emotion. “My Cloud-gathering sword has told me that it sensed the presence of a Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing below this mountain, and it’s not just a regular Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing either. Its grade is very high, so high that fruits of such quality rarely ever appear.”

“What? A Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing? Special heavenly resources that specifically target sword spirits are extremely rare in our Immortals’ World. It’s said that whenever a Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing appears, even the Immortal Sect of Myriad Swords of the twelve courts of heaven will contend for it.” The Black Wind Immortal Exalt was surprised. Although he was not a sword wielder, he understood exactly how precious the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing was even if it was useless to him.

Let alone all of its other properties, just the fact that the Immortal Sect of Myriad Swords, one of the twelve courts of heaven, treated it as treasure was enough to see how special it was.

“My Cloud-gathering sword needs it. The sword spirit of the Cloud-gathering sword has told me that the presence of the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing has spread extremely far. Sword spirits can sense it and are attracted to it in a special way, so many people must have sensed it. A struggle will be unavoidable. The two of you, I hope you can lend me a hand when the time comes so that I can claim it!” the Profound Spirit Master said to the Scarlet Fire Immortal Exalt and the Black Wind Immortal Exalt.

As one of the five ancestors of the Heavenly Palace of Scaling Heights, as well as a Fourth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, he possessed several high quality god artifacts.

A huge stone tablet several dozen metres tall stood in a certain location on the side of the mountain. It was engraved with over a hundred sword movements. Each move and form contained the truths of the world, hiding the paths of the ways. It was extremely profound.

This was clearly a rather deep secret technique of the Way of the Sword. The sword moves were like a creation of nature, completely flawless in appearance. It seemed like they were manifesting the world, displaying the creation of the universe.

A person sat beneath the stone tablet. The Laws of the Sword permeated his surroundings as the pressure of an Immortal Exalt filled the woods.

He was the city lord of the Immortal Rising City of the Hall Brilliance Heaven, Immortal Exalt Tan Yu!

Immortal Exalt Tan Yu opened his eyes slowly. He stared at the stone tablet before him deeply and sighed gently. “These are sword moves left behind by the Skyscraping Sword Venerable after all. They’re far too profound. With my mastery at the Second Heavenly Layer of Immortal Exalt, I struggle to comprehend the mysteries it contains.”

“I think that without several decades of thought and contemplation, I’ll probably struggle to even gain a basic grasp over it.”

“This stone tablet should be one of the nine secret sword techniques that the Skyscraping Sword Venerable left behind. Whenever the Skyscraping World opens, the nine secret sword techniques will appear in different locations. Encountering them comes down to pure luck.”

“Looks like I’ll have to stay here for a very long time.”

When he reached there, Immortal Exalt Tan Yu exhaled and smiled gently. “Originally, I came here for the seed of ways. Now that fellow Yang Yutian is contending for it, I have no chance at all anymore. I encountered one of the nine secret sword techniques that the Skyscraping Sword Venerable left behind, so you can say that this is quite a worthwhile trip.”

At this moment, Immortal Exalt Tan Yu’s expression changed. In the next moment, a sword suddenly appeared in front of him. The sword churned with light, radiating with the pressure of a high quality god artifact.

After a simple conversation with the sword spirit, Immortal Exalt Tan Yu immediately began to hesitate.

“Whatever. Since you desire the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing so much, I’ll visit it. If I can claim it, I’ll leave you satisfied. However, there are many experts in the Skyscraping World, so don’t hold your hopes too high.” Immortal Exalt Tan Yu made up his mind. After saying that to the sword spirit, he made a note of the stone tablet’s location before vanishing with a flash.

......

…

Jian Chen furrowed his brows firmly as he stood around the sword pool that supported the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing. He became even more grim. From time to time, he would glance back at the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing at the bottom of the cave. He was concerned.

“More and more experts are being drawn over by the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing’s presence.” Jian Chen sighed gently. He used the spiritual Qi as his eyes, so he could sense all of the disturbances within ten thousand kilometres of him. He had already detected the presence of three Immortal Emperors rapidly approaching this place from different directions.

Five seconds later, the first person finally arrived. He was a Fifth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor. He was the closest, so he was the first person to reach within a hundred kilometres of the sword pool.

“Hahaha, there’s probably no one who’s arrived here before me. Looks like this heavenly resource is mine.” The Immortal Emperor swept the surroundings with the senses of his soul, but he failed to sense Jian Chen. He could not help but laugh excitedly, already ready to pick the heavenly resource before fleeing immediately.

Due to the special environment of the Skyscraping World, as long as he fled far enough, no one would know he was the one who picked the fruit.

At this moment, a streak of light flashed over. A powerful pressure enveloped him, making the Fifth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor who had arrived here first feel the presence of death envelop him.

In that critical moment, he took out a shield and blocked.

The shield was a medium quality god artifact. It shone with resplendent light, turning into a powerful barrier.

Boom! With a rumble, the streak of light landed on the shield, cutting it in half like butter. Afterwards, the streak of light continued onwards and swept past the Immortal Emperor.

Blood sprayed through the air. The Fifth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor had been directly bisected along his waist.

However, an injury like that was not fatal to Immortal Emperors. He was in great shock, immediately controlling the top half of his body to retreat.

Only now did he notice that a figure clad in ancient armour had appeared silently. The armour covered his entire body. Only a pair of eyes remained exposed.

He clutched a shining high quality god artifact sword in his hand.

That was Jian Chen wearing the Divine Armour of Heavenflight!

“Leave here, or you will lose your life!” Jian Chen stared at the Immortal Emperor coldly and said indifferently.

“Thank you for sparing my life!” The Immortal Emperor was not a fool. He was aware that Jian Chen’s attack earlier was completely enough to kill him. Without any hesitation, he left with the lower half of his body in his arms.

Ten seconds after the Immortal Emperor had left, a second Immortal Emperor reached this place. He was an Eighth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor.

However, when he reached within a hundred kilometres of the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing, he was met with a blinding streak of light.

Spurt! The Immortal Emperor immediately sprayed blood. The medium quality god artifact on him shattered to pieces.

“Leave! You cannot contend for it!” Jian Chen said.

“Hahaha, whether I can contend for this heavenly resource is not up to you to decide.” The Immortal Emperor sneered. Shortly afterwards, he took out a tablet, planning on threatening Jian Chen. “I am…”

But before he could finish what he was saying, Jian Chen suddenly thrust out with the Heaven-lifting sword. Faced with the startling strike of a high quality god artifact, the Eighth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor old man stood no chance at all. He was cut in half along his chest.

“No matter what organisation you come from, even if you’re a great elder of the twelve courts of heaven, only death awaits you if you don’t leave.” Jian Chen’s icy voice was devoid of emotion.
