Chaotic Sword God

Looking at the energy crystals that the Energy-devouring Furnace constantly produced, Jian Chen could not help but smile. He was clearly extremely satisfied with the power of the Energy-devouring Furnace.

He placed one hand on the Energy-devouring Furnace and channelled in his Chaotic Force. He took out an energy crystal from the furnace, pinching it between his fingers and bringing it closer to his eyes to study.

The energy crystal was transparent, as bright as a rock crystal. The energy it contained was so pure that it even surpassed supreme grade immortal crystals.

Its quality was between supreme grade and coloured immortal crystal.

However, the greatest difference between it and supreme grade immortal crystals was that supreme grade immortal crystals bore the presence of the Immortals’ World.

Meanwhile, the energy crystals produced by the Energy-devouring Furnace only contained pure energy, without any other elements present.

The concealing formation began to shine brilliantly as the Energy-devouring Furnace drained its power, dimming bit by bit.

Despite the entire process seeming extremely gradual, this was a tremendous formation that could threaten mid Immortal Exalts after all. The energy supply of such a powerful formation could be described as unimaginable.

But right now, the formation was dimming bit by bit, which only indicated just how terrifyingly fast the Energy-devouring Furnace absorbed energy.

“The killing formation hidden inside will only activate when it receives powerful attacks. By devouring the energy used to maintain the formation, I can avoid this killing formation perfectly.” Jian Chen smiled gently as he looked at the formation below.

“These formations all replenish their energy by absorbing the spiritual Qi in the surroundings. It’ll come down to whether the Energy-devouring Furnace can absorb energy faster than the formation can replenish it or not.” The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt chuckled.

“We’ll know very soon,” said Jian Chen. There was a hint of anticipation in his eyes. He knew that many formations were capable of absorbing the surrounding spiritual Qi to prolong their functions, but he was certain that the Energy-devouring Furnace would devour the formation’s power faster than it could replenish it.

That was because the Energy-devouring Furnace was being powered by both him and the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt. It drained energy far faster than what most Immortal Exalts could achieve by attacking the formation.

However, after another half a minute, the concealing formation seemed to sense its energy was running out. Its ability to absorb spiritual Qi was activated. The surrounding spiritual Qi turned into clouds of white mist, rushing towards the formation like a whirlpool.

It absorbed spiritual Qi quickly, but it was still quite far off from the devouring rate of the Energy-devouring Furnace.

“The replenishing speed is only equivalent to a fifth of the Energy-devouring Furnace’s devouring speed.” The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt shook his head. He could already tell that the formation was not far off from collapsing on itself.

Afterwards, Jian Chen and the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt continued to power the Energy-devouring Furnace with their full strength, allowing it to drain the formation of its energy at full speed.

With each passing second, numerous energy crystals would condense in the expansive space within the Energy-devouring Furnace. The amount it produced after each day was frightening.

In a single day, a small mountain of energy crystals had formed inside the Energy-devouring Furnace, amounting to over a hundred thousand.

Even when Jian Chen had already accumulated a tremendous amount of resources that could leave Immortal Exalts envious, his mouth still hung agape when he saw the production rate.

After all, only a day had passed. If the Energy-devouring Furnace continued like this for several months, years, or even decades and centuries…

Jian Chen could no longer imagine just how many energy crystals the Energy-devouring Furnace would be able to accumulate by then. He even wondered whether he would end up draining the entire Skyscraping World dry.

For the next few days, the Energy-devouring Furnace condensed over a hundred thousand energy crystals each day. Under the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt’s full support, they only used a little over half a month to drain over ninety percent of the energy from the formation.

From beginning to end, the killing formation hidden inside was never activated.

At this moment, the glow of the formation had already become extremely dim. On the brink of running out of energy, the formation even lost its most basic ability to hide itself. It was possible to make out a pitch-black tunnel hidden inside.

After another two hours, the formation finally ran out of energy, and the pitch-black tunnel was completely exposed before Jian Chen.

At the same time, Jian Chen sensed an extremely special presence. It was the result of a mixture of presence from a heavenly resource and the Way of the Sword.

However, Jian Chen was not in a rush to go inside. Instead, he turned his attention to the formation banners at the entrance of the cave.

There were a total of eight formation banners, all palm-sized. They were placed in a special arrangement that contained the truths of the world. It was very profound.

The powerful formation that Jian Chen spent over half a month draining was assembled from the eight formation banners.

But at this moment, the eight formation banners were all dim. They had already run out of all of their energy.

Jian Chen made his way over. He was about to collect the eight formation banners when an old man in grey robes suddenly appeared from one of the banners.

The old man’s figure was transparent. He was only a wisp of a soul that inhabited the formation banner.

“I am the Scholar Capital Master of the Modest Silence Heaven. Fellows, I discovered this heavenly resource first and protected it with this formation, allowing it to grow successfully. As such, it technically belongs to me. Please show some grace and leave it be,” the Scholar Capital Master’s soul clone said.

“Hehehehe, this is the Skyscraping World. Everything in the Skyscraping World was left behind by the Skyscraping Sword Venerable. It all comes down to your ability whether you can claim it or not. Why are we supposed to let you have it just because you asked?” The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt stared at the Scholar Capital Master and laughed, “Speaking of which, we went through so much trouble to get through your formation. How can we return with nothing?”

When he heard that, the Scholar Capital Master’s eyes shone coldly. His voice turned cold as he said, “The heavenly resource here is extremely important to me. If you really want to bite off more you can chew and take it, you will become my mortal enemy.”

“Scholar Capital Master, if you were here in person, perhaps we’d have some qualms, but you’re just a soul clone right now, so how are you supposed to frighten us away?” Jian Chen said. He was very calm and composed. After extending a finger, a strand of sword Qi flew out and dissipated the Scholar Capital Master’s soul clone.

“Alright! Alright! Alright! I’ve remembered your presences…” The Scholar Capital Master could only let out a furious howl before dissipating.

“Thousand Soul Demon Exalt, what do you think the Scholar Capital Master’s strength is approximately?” Jian Chen arrived before the eight formation banners and stowed them all away. The quality of the formation banners were quite high. They were worth quite a lot, so he obviously did not want them to go to waste.

“His soul clone was extremely feeble. It had slumbered in the formation banner for several hundred thousand years at the very least. I was unable to accurately discern his cultivation. However, he claimed that he was from the Modest Silence Heaven. There are only so many Immortal Exalts on each heaven. If you want his exact details, you only need to find someone and ask them about him,” said the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt.
