Chaotic Sword God

When the five blur overlapped, the power behind his attack immediately reached a new peak. The terrifying power and surging might it contained made the Eighth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor old man pale in fright.

Boom!

Jian Chen’s attack struck the stone tablet heavily and produced a deafening boom. A terrifying storm of energy soon followed, which actually pushed the old man backwards. His feet left behind two long trails in the ground.

“I-is this really the strength that a mid Immortal Emperor should possess?” The old man was shocked. His heart surged.

This was just far too unbelievable. With his strength as an Eighth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor, he could not even withstand the side effects of this attack, having been pushed back several hundred metres.

The sweeping storm of energy slowly subsided, revealing Jian Chen standing in front of the stone tablet with the Heaven-lifting sword in hand and a brilliant smile on his face.

“Sure enough, the Hundred Superimposition Sword’s power is terrifying. I’ve only grasped up to the fifth superimposition, yet it’s already so powerful. If I reach the hundredth superimposition… the Skyscraping Sword Venerable was right. The Hundred Superimposition Sword already surpasses the Profound Sword Qi in strength,” Jian Chen thought. He struggled to imagine just who had managed to come up with such a powerful secret technique.

From the five superimpositions, his Chaotic Force strengthened by five times, the power of the Heaven-lifting sword strengthened by five times, and even his Laws of the Sword strengthened by five times.

Of course, the level of his Laws of the Sword did not change at all, but its power changed drastically!

“Zi Ying, Qing Suo, what do you think of the Hundred Superimposition Sword?” Jian Chen was in a great mood.

However, the sword spirits remained silent. They did not respond even after a very long time.

“Master, this technique is extremely extraordinary. It can be considered heaven-defying. Its origins must be beyond imagination.” Only a while later did Jian Chen receive a reply from the artifact spirit of the Primeval Divine Hall, which was filled with undisguised sternness and shock.

The Primeval artifact spirit’s response left Jian Chen stunned.

Extremely extraordinary?

Considered heaven-defying?

Origins beyond imagination?

Even if the Skyscraping Sword Venerable said something like that, Jian Chen would not feel as shocked as right now. After all, it was the artifact spirit of the Primeval Divine Hall who gave such high praise!

It was an artifact spirit of Primeval Qi who had accompanied a Grand Exalt in the past, experiencing times of change. It had grown accustomed to upheavals, even surviving several aeons!

“Master, the Primeval artifact spirit is right. This technique’s profoundness is indeed beyond imagination. It has already surpassed our understanding of all techniques in the world.” Only at this moment did the sword spirits reply slowly, also filled with sternness. As powerful sword spirits that once accompanied a Grand Exalt, both their insight and knowledge surpassed Jian Chen’s.

“That’s because not only is the multiplicative effect from the Hundred Superimposition Sword effective on Immortal Exalts, it’s probably equally as effective on Grand Exalts too.”

When the sword spirits said that, Jian Chen’s heart lurched violently.

At that moment, his breathing seemed to seize up. He was dumbfounded.

The Hundred Superimposition Sword was even effective with Grand Exalts. Didn’t that mean if Grand Exalts grasped this technique, they too could stack their attacks like the Skyscraping Sword Venerable?

Strength between Grand Exalts mostly differed by the type and number of ways they had grasped. The more ways they had grasped, the stronger they obviously were.

If a Grand Exalt of the Way of the Sword grasped this technique, wouldn’t they become truly invincible with the Laws of the Sword alone?

At that moment, Jian Chen had truly become stunned.

All of the techniques in the world had a strict upper limit, just like how the Nature’s Stolen Fortune he had obtained in the lower world only had an effect on weaker cultivators. As his strength increased, the effects of Nature’s Stolen Fortune weakened until it became completely useless.

All of the cultivation methods, battle skills, god artifacts, and pills across the Immortals’ and Saints’ World were like this. Low quality god artifacts corresponded to Immortal Monarchs and would greatly lose their power in the hands of Immortal Emperors. If Immortal Exalts used them, they would be completely fragile, shattering from the slightest touch.

God Tier Battle Skills also had this division. The different grades corresponded to varying levels of strength. Low grade God Tier Immortal Techniques were useless against stronger immortals.

When it came to Grand Exalts, then basically all the techniques in the world would be useless to them.

That was because even the strongest of abilities were created by existences on the same level as them at most. If they tried to learn techniques created by existences at the same level of them, it would not lead to a substantial change in their battle prowess even if the technique was compatible with the laws they had comprehended.

Yet the Hundred Superimposition Sword could even increase the strength of Grand Exalts drastically. That was indeed unbelievable.

At this moment, a round, palm-sized jade disc suddenly fell out from the huge stone tablet, falling right in front of Jian Chen’s feet.

Jian Chen’s gaze was drawn over to the jade disc. He was confused. He had sat in front of the stone tablet for all these years. He had grasped every single detail on the jade tablet. There was no such thing like this.

Yet, the jade disc just managed to appear out of nowhere.

In the next moment, he bent down slowly and picked up the jade disc from the ground.

The jade disc seemed simple. It did not possess any special glow or give off any kind of energy. It seemed like a regular object, the kind that would not raise any attention if it was thrown into a pile of objects.

However, when Jian Chen touched the jade disc, his mind shuddered. A profound feeling filled his mind.

“I-is this the Hundred Superimposition Sword that the Skyscraping Sword Venerable happened to obtain in the past?” Jian Chen’s eyes shone brightly. From the ordinary jade disc, he could clearly sense a profound presence that bore great similarity to the Hundred Superimposition Sword.

After a moment of hesitation, Jian Chen sent the senses of his soul inside. He began to explore the secrets that it was hiding.

But very soon, Jian Chen was left stunned yet again. He was extremely dumbfounded.

He sensed a unique presence from the inconspicuous jade disc that was both familiar and unfamiliar.

The appearance of the presence made Jian Chen think of his journey towards the Reverent Observance Heaven from the Grand Sovereign Heaven when he first arrived in the Immortals’ World.

During that time, he had made a temporary stop outside the Hole of Reincarnation.

In particular, when he stood outside the Hole of Reincarnation, he was overwhelmed by an emotion that even he himself was uncertain about. Even to this day, it was fresh in his mind. It was unforgettable.

From the jade disc, Jian Chen discovered a unique presence that belonged to the Hole of Reincarnation.

“Don’t tell me the jade disc comes from the Hole of Reincarnation?” Jian Chen could not help but think of that.

“Fellow, I am unable to hold back my curiosity, so I wanted to ask what the name of the secret technique that the Skyscraping Sword Venerable left behind in this stone tablet is called? I was wondering if you could satiate my curiosity.” A voice interrupted Jian Chen’s thoughts. The Eighth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor old man who remained on the side arrived before Jian Chen and asked sincerely.

There were still hints of fear in his gaze towards Jian Chen.

It was as if he had been frightened by the five superimpositions Jian Chen used earlier.
