I Married the President

Chapter 397: Chapter 397: Claire Sinclair, We Have a Long Way to Go

”Stop talking!” Sheila Judd suddenly cut in.

Claire Sinclair sneered, deciding to press on. ”Your mind is completely twisted. Everything your sister did for you was just her own wishful thinking. She died never knowing that you were the one who drugged her that night. She never knew that as she faced her darkest moment, you just stood by and did nothing.”

Sheila Judd’s eyes were bloodshot, looking as if they might start bleeding, yet she remained silent.

A flash of pain crossed Claire Sinclair’s eyes. She asked her one last question: ”If you had known from the beginning that your boyfriend was just using you, would you still have treated Yvonne Judd as your best friend?”

Sheila Judd was silent for a long time before finally uttering, ”Her death was a release. There’s no point in a retard like her being alive.”

”You treat kindness like it’s a crime. It’s laughable, pathetic. You’re living a life worse than an animal’s. I truly feel sorry for your sister.” Claire Sinclair couldn’t stop herself from cursing at her in the end.

Sheila Judd just frowned and didn’t respond.

Claire Sinclair took a deep breath and turned to Henry Hartwell. ”Teacher Hartwell, do you have anything to add?”

Henry Hartwell stared at the girl locked in the cell and said in a heavy voice, ”The scariest thing in the world isn’t the human heart, but a person without one—someone who’s become an unfeeling monster. The scum of society, the worst of humanity, a total moral degenerate... It’s hard to say what creates something like this. Let’s go back.”

”Okay.” Claire Sinclair started packing her things.

As they were about to leave, Sheila Judd suddenly lost control and screamed, ”You all deserve to die! All you saints should die! When I die, I’ll enter the System and kill every last one of you—”

Claire Sinclair and Henry Hartwell turned back at the same time. The latter was completely bewildered. ”What is she talking about?”

Claire Sinclair explained, ”I checked her internet history. She’s a huge fan of perverted, yandere-style quick transmigration novels. Most of the ones she reads are filled with blood and gore. There are tons of novels like that online. I have no idea how those novel websites approve this kind of content.”

Henry Hartwell didn’t read web novels, so he had no idea what this genre was. He couldn’t help but ask, ”What are ’perverted, yandere-style quick transmigration novels’?”

”It’s where a protagonist with a twisted mind transmigrates into different worlds to carry out all sorts of twisted missions: murdering people, stealing boyfriends, torturing scumbags and putting them in their place, and so on. The first quick transmigration novels were pretty normal. But in recent years, some authors with no moral compass, trying to attract more readers, have started openly advertising that their stories have no morality. They deliberately write extremely graphic and violent content, and a lot of readers find that kind of writing thrilling.”

Henry Hartwell frowned. ”If you’re exposed to too much blood and violence, even the purest soul can be corrupted. This is especially true for minors. They haven’t developed a mature set of values yet, so they’re easily influenced. Claire Sinclair, our work is cut out for us. Never forget our duty as journalists.”

’Guide public opinion in the right direction—that was something Claire Sinclair would never forget.’

After returning, Claire Sinclair was in charge of the written article, while Henry Hartwell handled the video production.

They finished at almost the same time, checked each other’s work, and then published them together.

Title—”When Youth is Stained with Blood, Who Will Pay the Price for This Tragedy?”

Subtitle: A Tragedy of Youth. How Pathetic, How Sad!

The article started with Claire Sinclair receiving an anonymous tip, then moved on to how she learned about this unusual case from the police. Of course, Claire Sinclair used pseudonyms. It revealed the appalling truth behind the incident and cited several other cases of juvenile delinquency where a lack of proper upbringing led to terrible mistakes.
