I Married the President

Chapter 354: Chapter 354: Thank Goodness, the Child Is Safe

Claire Sinclair stopped at the door and said in a low voice, ”I want to see Orion Osborne. Please tell him.”

The burly men said nothing, but their guns moved in unison, pointing straight at her head.

A chilling sensation washed over Claire Sinclair’s scalp. It was as if the Grim Reaper himself was nearby, ready to claim her at any moment.

’If I’m going to die, so be it...’

Claire Sinclair squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for her head to be blown open.

She was completely unaware that the moment she closed her eyes, the door opened.

Orion Osborne made a hushing gesture to his two men. He then raised his hand, and with two fingers, flicked her forehead.

”Ah!” Claire Sinclair cried out in pain and snapped her eyes open.

When she saw that familiar, bewitching face, her heart seemed to skip a beat. She blurted out, ”Don’t kill the child! I’m begging you!”

The corner of Orion Osborne’s lips curved into an emotionless smile. ”You came all this way just to save that child?”

”Yes!” Claire Sinclair’s gaze was resolute.

”But I believe I just heard you say you were my girlfriend.”

”I...” Claire Sinclair was suddenly at a loss for words, a hint of embarrassment in her eyes.

Orion Osborne elegantly raised a hand, grasped her wrist, and pulled her into the house.

Claire Sinclair’s heart leaped into her throat. She spoke quickly, ”I’ll trade my life for the child’s. I’m begging you, please don’t kill him.”

Hearing this, Orion Osborne turned back to her and gently made a hushing gesture.

Claire Sinclair didn’t understand, but then she caught sight of a baby boy sleeping soundly in a crib and suddenly realized.

’Thank God, the baby’s safe!’

Just as she was about to speak, her eyes were drawn to the corpse lying on the floor...

It was the baby boy’s grandmother. Her head had been blown open, splattering brains and blood all over the floor. The nauseating stench of blood filled the air.

Claire Sinclair staggered back a step involuntarily, her pupils wide. She couldn’t accept the scene before her. It was like a nightmare eating away at her world.

The suffocating pressure was almost too much for her heart to bear.

”Why did you have to kill this old woman... Why did you kill her...” She kept backing away, trying to escape the bloody scene, her pupils dilated in anguish.

Orion Osborne frowned slightly and shot a look at the man behind her.

One of his men strode forward and injected a syringe of anesthetic into Claire Sinclair’s neck.

Claire Sinclair felt a sharp pain in her neck, and a numbing sensation instantly washed over her entire body before she passed out.

Orion Osborne stepped forward and gently scooped the girl into his arms.

Just then, the figure of a seductive woman appeared on the laptop sitting on the table.

The woman was leaning against a wall, panting as she spoke to the camera. ”Orion, we’ve been ambushed. I’m afraid we can’t continue with the plan.”

Orion Osborne glanced leisurely at the laptop screen and parted his thin lips. ”Our position has been compromised. Retreat.”

”Yes, sir!” the woman replied, and the video feed went black a second later.

Orion Osborne looked down at the innocent girl who had fainted in his arms. A flash of malice glinted in the depths of his eyes, but it was quickly replaced by a look of indulgence.

”I suspected you might become a threat to me, but I never thought you’d dare to impersonate my girlfriend. Hmph...” The corner of the man’s lips tilted up slightly. He said no more and turned to walk out of the house.

His subordinate behind him called out, ”Orion, what should we do with the child?”

”Bring him back.” Orion Osborne tossed out the three words and left without a backward glance.

「Sovereign Plaza.」

Following Ethan Kingsley, Adrian Quincy, the youngest presidential candidate in the history of Aridia, was the last to take the stage.
