I Married the President

Chapter 384: Chapter 384: I Want to Ask You for a Favor

It turned out that the gang rape that night had been orchestrated by that heartless couple, all so they could extort money from him later!

At this point, Harrison Lynch was seething with anger. ”What did Yvonne do to deserve this? For those bastards to treat her like that... and I was powerless to help. I’m the one who failed her...”

Claire Sinclair was in no mood to listen to his self-pity. She cut straight to the point, ”You said they came to you for money. Do you have any proof?”

”Yes, I have a recording.” As he spoke, Harrison Lynch took out his phone and played it.

Unfortunately, the recording was only of the couple demanding compensation. It made no mention of their adopted daughter’s assault.

Claire Sinclair knew she wasn’t going to get any useful evidence from him, so she didn’t press the matter. She silently took out the laptop she had brought and booted it up.

Six months had passed since the incident, so it would probably be difficult to find any relevant surveillance footage.

However, she might be able to use her hacking skills to find other kinds of videos—social media posts from people who were near the crime scene.

Seeing incomprehensible code appear on her laptop, Harrison Lynch started to ask what she was doing, but Claire Sinclair beat him to it. ”Be quiet. Don’t distract me.”

Harrison Lynch: ”...”

An hour later, Claire Sinclair had found several videos and photos taken by park-goers in West Suburbs Park on the day of the incident. In them, she managed to spot a group of thugs.

Harrison Lynch became agitated the moment he saw the image. ”That man! Yvonne ran into him once at the hospital. She started trembling uncontrollably. I asked her what was wrong, but she just cried, looking absolutely terrified. She only calmed down a little after he left. I’m positive he hurt Yvonne!”

Claire Sinclair stared at the man’s face, remaining silent for a moment before saying in a low voice, ”It’s getting late, President Lynch. You should go home for now.”

As she spoke, she began to pack up her laptop.

Harrison Lynch asked anxiously, ”Reporter Sinclair, you’re leaving? What about Yvonne’s case?”

”I’m going somewhere to run a check on this man. Go home and wait for news from me. And I have to remind you: the Astoria Daily is the only paper that can get justice for Yvonne Judd. Don’t go to any other media outlets, especially not the sensationalist blogs. If you do, you’ll be responsible for the consequences.”

Harrison Lynch quickly replied, ”Reporter Sinclair, I follow and read every single one of your articles. There aren’t many reporters as righteous as you in this world. I came to you because I trust you, and I don’t trust anyone else. Please, don’t worry!”

Claire Sinclair gave a slight nod, said nothing more, and left West Suburbs Park.

Next, Claire Sinclair went straight to Quincy Manor.

Although she was capable of getting the information herself, she didn’t want to hack into Quincy Manor’s internal systems and risk causing trouble for Adrian Quincy. It would be better to ask him for it directly.

At the entrance to Quincy Manor, Claire Sinclair presented her press pass, went through the necessary formalities, and was granted entry.

To avoid disturbing a certain someone at work, Claire Sinclair sought out Aiden Howkins and pulled him into a deserted corner.

”Aiden, I need your help with something.”

”Young Madam, it’s the middle of the day. Is something urgent? Why not go through Young Master Quincy instead of coming to me directly?”

”It’s not that urgent. I just need your help looking someone up.”

”Looking someone up?” Aiden Howkins was confused.

Claire Sinclair took out her phone and showed him the photo of the thug she had found online. ”This is him.”

”Who’s this?” Aiden Howkins asked, puzzled. After staring at the photo for a long moment, he added, ”He doesn’t look like a good person.”
