On some night, paparazzi had captured a video of her and Adrian Quincy entering Evergreen Garden looking like a couple. It was then leaked online, which sparked the news about him spending the night at her home.

And then, the fact that Ethan Kingsley had driven her home—which had happened just yesterday after her interview with him—was blown completely out of proportion by the tabloids and forcibly linked to the story about Adrian Quincy.

Looking at the flood of scandalous headlines, Claire Sinclair felt something she couldn’t quite describe and, for a moment, had no idea how to react.

First thing in the morning, Henry Hartwell called her into his office, a gloating smile on his face. ”Claire Sinclair, you’ve become a top socialite. How does it feel?”

”Teacher Hartwell, please don’t make fun of me. I’m so frustrated right now.”

”What’s there to be frustrated about? It’s obvious the other candidates are trying to sabotage Young Master Quincy and Ethan Kingsley. You just happen to be connected to both of them, so they’re using you to make their first move. I’m sure this is only the beginning; things like this will happen again.”

Hearing this, Claire Sinclair felt a chill run down her spine. ”Then what should I do? Just sit back and let it happen?”

Unexpectedly, Henry Hartwell nodded. ”Exactly. You don’t need to do a thing. Just sit back and let it happen.”

Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow. ”Teacher Hartwell, please enlighten me!”

”Just keep things ambiguous with both Young Master Quincy and Ethan Kingsley, so no one can tell who you’re actually closer to. That way, Princess Morinka will be caught in a dilemma. Isn’t that great?”

”But that would make me look like a two-timer. I feel like I’d get so much hate from everyone.”

Henry Hartwell chuckled. ”That’s what will prove how exceptional you are, to have two presidential candidates completely captivated by you.”

Claire Sinclair let out a long sigh. ”Teacher Hartwell, just tell me directly what I should do. I don’t understand all this maneuvering.”

”Right now, you don’t need to do anything. Let them be the first to speak. Then, you can come forward and offer a bit of a clarification, but don’t make things too clear. Keep it vague and mysterious.”

Claire Sinclair was worried. ”I’m not worried about Mr. Quincy, but will Ethan Kingsley really say anything?”

”His votes are on the line. Ethan Kingsley has to clear this up for his own good. A candidate can’t have any blemishes on their record, especially when it comes to their attitude toward women. If he handles this badly, he’ll lose the support of female voters.”

Claire Sinclair understood at once. ”I see what you mean. But... won’t this be disadvantageous for Mr. Quincy?”

Henry Hartwell said with a laugh, ”You have to have faith in your man’s EQ. He’s not as fragile as you think.”

Claire Sinclair was suddenly at a loss for words.

’Am I just too naive? Maybe I shouldn’t overthink this. I should just leave it to them to handle for now.’

Claire Sinclair returned to her desk, ready to get to work.

Phoebe Lockwood suddenly walked over, her face filled with contempt. ”Claire Sinclair, you’re absolutely disgusting. Wasn’t Ethan Kingsley enough? You have to drag Young Master Quincy into this too? Have a little shame.”

Claire Sinclair replied with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes, ”You say that like you know them so well. May I ask what position you’re in to be lecturing me?”
