BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

Liu Xi cast a brief glance toward Bodhisattva’s direction. With him here, no one in the vicinity posed any real threat. As for those distant figures hovering in the sky—they were nothing but small fry.

”Now’s the time. While the fire’s hot, I’ll completely subdue the Emperor Pill.”

Having made up his mind, Liu Xi first retrieved several bottles of medicinal pills, swallowing them one after another. Then, he summoned another vast river of Sovereign Spiritual Liquid and consumed it all in one breath.

At once, the backlash from detonating his Celestial Body earlier eased slightly. Were it not for his exceptionally resilient physique, he would never have survived such repeated torment. Even now, pain still faintly rippled deep within his soul.

Drawing in a long breath, Liu Xi’s figure turned into a streak of radiant light and dove into the cauldron below.

The time to subdue the Emperor Pill—had come.

The world blurred, and the next instant Liu Xi found himself in a realm composed entirely of blue fire. Dragons woven from Azure Flame coiled across the heavens and earth, roaring silently through this blazing domain.

At the center of this world stood a solitary figure. When Liu Xi’s eyes focused, his heart stirred—its face and form were identical to his own.

He paused briefly before regaining composure. It wasn’t surprising. Once an Emperor Pill attained form, it naturally took shape from its source. The embryo had once borne the face of Tuoshe Ancient Emperor. Now perfected by Liu Xi, it was only natural that it should mirror his own appearance.

Upon noticing Liu Xi’s arrival, the Emperor Pill—bearing his exact visage—finally ceased its turbulence.

”You’ve come…”

It looked directly at him, a faint trace of reverence flashing across its expression. ”Master.”

Liu Xi raised a brow but didn’t immediately act. He floated midair, taking the moment to stabilize himself and absorb the medicine and Sovereign Spiritual Liquid still within his body.

”So, you call me master. It seems you understand your origin well.”

”Of course.”

The Emperor Pill lowered its eyes slightly. The reverence in its gaze faded into a dangerous curve of its lips. ”I was born of you. To call you master… is only fitting.”

A faint smile tugged at Liu Xi’s lips. Extending his hand, he pointed toward the pill and said calmly, ”Then—submit to me.”

A glint of killing intent flickered in the Emperor Pill’s eyes, its voice becoming soft yet perilously sharp.

”I’ve gained awareness, and I will not bow to another. However, I can offer you a bargain—let me go free.”

”Impossible.” Liu Xi’s reply was firm, his tone like cold iron.

In an instant, the air froze. Vast Spiritual Energy erupted between them, spreading outward like a silent tide. The tension coiled tight—battle was inevitable.

”Truly… no room for mercy?” the Emperor Pill murmured, its tone darkening to the calm before a volcanic eruption.

”Of course not.” Liu Xi’s voice was steady, but the Spiritual Energy within him surged wildly, drawing upon every drop of medicinal essence and Spiritual Liquid he possessed.

”Then die!”

The Emperor Pill threw its head back and roared. The face identical to Liu Xi’s twisted in feral rage, crimson light flashing in its eyes—like a desperate gambler who had lost everything.

BOOM!

An overwhelming storm of energy erupted, shredding seven or eight flame dragons into sparks and ash.

The crushing pressure forced Liu Xi to retreat a few steps. In sheer power, the Emperor Pill indeed had an advantage—it stood a realm above him.

But that was all.

”You’re my creation. Did you truly think you could turn on your master?”

Liu Xi’s smile widened, his aura thickening until the very air grew heavy around him. The Azure Flame flared brighter, its heat pressing down upon the realm itself.

He waved his hand, and the flame dragons circling the skies responded instantly. With a roar that shook the heavens, they dove into the storm, converging upon the Emperor Pill.

A haunting chorus echoed through the inferno, a wailing symphony like ghosts screaming in torment.

”Die!”

The Emperor Pill’s furious voice rang out as it burst through the storm, charging straight toward Liu Xi. The murderous energy it radiated struck like a crashing mountain, forcing even Liu Xi’s breath to hitch before he steadied himself.

Their figures blurred—then collided.

BOOM!

A devastating blast spread outward, shattering the very fabric of this realm. The waves of destruction rolled in every direction, each one dense enough to crush a typical Earth Sovereign into paste.

Truth be told, the Emperor Pill’s raw strength did exceed Liu Xi’s—by realm if not by control. It wielded immense power like a child swinging a massive hammer, unable to properly channel its force.

It could unleash ten parts of power, yet only strike with six.

Liu Xi, on the other hand, possessed battle experience far beyond its comprehension. The tempo of combat was entirely his to dictate.

As they exchanged blows, wisps of Azure Flame seeped silently from Liu Xi’s strikes, merging into the Emperor Pill’s body. The moment they fused with the energy within—the battle would be decided.

”So this is your strength? For something I spent so much effort to refine… you’re rather disappointing.”

Liu Xi’s voice was calm, almost mocking.

”Die! Die! Die!”

The Emperor Pill’s fury erupted, channeling its energy through fists, elbows, knees, and legs—but every attack met only emptiness. Liu Xi dissolved each strike effortlessly, letting the force flow past him like water around stone.

The pill’s rage only deepened. Despite its greater power, every blow felt like punching into cotton.

”Die!”

Its body burst with a blinding radiance, light exploding like a miniature sun. The surge struck Liu Xi full on, hurling him backward. His vision dimmed, and a metallic tang filled his mouth. He swallowed the blood down, eyes narrowing.

Even a child’s hammer would hurt if it connected.

He steadied himself midair, wiping the blood from his lips as he gazed at the raging Emperor Pill—and smiled.

Forming a rapid seal with his hands, Liu Xi exhaled lightly. ”It’s over.”

”Ah—!”

A scream tore from the Emperor Pill’s throat. Its hands clutched at its chest, face twisted in agony. Within its heart, a wisp of Azure Flame had ignited—linked to every ounce of fire coursing through its veins.

The moment the flames connected, its entire power was sealed.

With a final cry, the Emperor Pill’s form dissolved, collapsing into a violet-red pill. The faint flickering light it gave off almost seemed pleading, alive with a trace of spirit.

A slender hand reached out and caught it. Liu Xi gazed at the pill resting in his palm and said calmly,

”You’re out of chances.”
