BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

One by one, the spirit herbs were thrown into the cauldron by Liu Xi, and tongues of azure flame instantly surged forth, devouring them completely. The Azure Flame’s might was terrifying beyond words; in just a few breaths, the medicinal essence within each herb was extracted and refined, and under the flame’s tempering, that essence ascended into a state of ultimate purity.

Each herb was refined into a droplet of radiant spirit liquid, its interior rippling with pure Spiritual Energy like a luminous pearl that glowed softly. Watching herb after herb being drawn into the cauldron, Xuan Pao’s eyes blazed with excitement. He stared fervently at Liu Xi like a devout believer murmuring, ”I truly followed the right master…”

He had once wondered why Liu Xi demanded such an absurd amount of herbs—enough to last an ordinary alchemist several years. Yet Liu Xi was consuming them all at once. Whatever pill emerged from this would be nothing short of heaven-defying.

Bodhisattva, by contrast, remained calm. He was well aware of Liu Xi’s mastery in alchemy, so such a scene was nothing new to him. Mandala, standing beside him, could only gape in awe, her small lips parted as she stared blankly at the spectacle unfolding across the heavens.

The surging Spiritual Energy made even the void tremble, dragon roars and tiger cries echoing through the sky. The oppressive majesty of the phenomenon was enough to shake her heart; even her own power felt insignificant before that boundless energy.

’Heavens… who exactly is this man? With such mastery in alchemy, how could someone like him remain unknown?’ Mandala’s heart raced in confusion. A person of such power should have long since shaken the entire Great Thousand Worlds with his name.

From this day onward, Liu Xi’s fame would surely spread across the realms. His pill refinement drew in Spiritual Energy from all directions, forming a storm-like vortex that expanded endlessly—ten thousand miles, a hundred thousand miles, and still farther.

All across the Northern Region and even beyond, countless experts sensed this abnormal flow of Spiritual Energy. Curiosity and greed alike burned in their hearts as they converged toward that small, nameless mountain range.

High above, the cauldron stood suspended in the heavens, surrounded by hundreds of thousands of floating herbs that exuded intoxicating fragrance. Liu Xi sat cross-legged upon the clouds, torrents of Spiritual Energy sweeping around him as they carried each herb into the cauldron. The Azure Flame refined them with surgical precision—his control was flawless, his timing perfect.

The process of refining ten thousand herbs unfolded as smoothly as breathing. Even when splitting his focus a hundredfold, Liu Xi never faltered, extracting every last drop of medicinal essence and elevating it to its utmost purity.

As the sun set and rose again, only a single day passed—but all one hundred thousand herbs had been refined. The sky glittered with countless radiant droplets, resembling stars scattered across an endless galaxy. At the heart of this sea of light floated a cluster of luminous motes—the dissolved Emperor Pill embryo, now radiating immense Spiritual Energy.

Liu Xi nodded lightly, a faint smile touching his lips. Everything was ready. The true refinement was about to begin.

”Condense!”

With a low shout, his hands formed intricate seals at blinding speed, leaving afterimages in the air. Torrents of Spiritual Energy erupted like tidal waves, surging into the cauldron. The countless spirit liquids spun together like a cosmic storm, fusing with the luminous motes at the center.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The explosions echoed like colliding stars, and endless energy erupted forth. Each droplet of spirit liquid burst with apocalyptic force, as though the very world was collapsing into ruin.

Liu Xi frowned. ”Hmm… too forceful. Fortunately, the Emperor Pill embryo’s structure is resilient. Otherwise, this would have been disastrous.”

With renewed focus, he steadied his control, his Spiritual Energy extending with terrifying precision. Every light particle, every drop of spirit liquid—its form, movement, and fusion sequence—was controlled down to the finest detail.

Within the Emperor Pill embryo, a miniature universe began to form. Each mote of light became a star, revolving around a radiant core, flowing in harmony like a vast galaxy. Under Liu Xi’s mastery, the remaining spirit liquids fused seamlessly into that microcosm—stars perished, new stars were born, and equilibrium was achieved.

The universe thrived within the cauldron, its surging power growing exponentially with each heartbeat. The Emperor Pill embryo was undergoing an extraordinary metamorphosis.

A smile curved Liu Xi’s lips. ”Everything’s proceeding perfectly.”

As each droplet merged, the colossal cauldron that covered the heavens began to shrink. The smaller it became, the denser its power grew, until at last it stood only a hundred meters tall, glowing with terrifying intensity.

Within, the Emperor Pill had fully condensed into a complete world of its own, its energy vast beyond comprehension. The void quaked as the cauldron vibrated violently, Azure Flames circling it in blazing rings.

Suddenly, an overwhelming consciousness awakened within that microcosm—the moment the Emperor Pill’s spirit was born, the heavens themselves seemed to come alive. A vague humanoid silhouette emerged within the cauldron, radiating infinite power that shattered and reformed space with every breath.

For an instant, even the cauldron could hardly contain it. When this presence fully revealed itself, heaven and earth would tremble, and ghosts would weep.

The aura it exuded… was that of the peak of the Great Thousand Worlds—a Heavenly Sovereign!

The Emperor Pill was complete!

In that instant, heaven and earth changed color. The moment the Emperor Pill’s consciousness awakened, its existence drew down a terrifying response from the skies. Boundless clouds gathered overhead, thick and heavy as molten lead.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Thunder roared, divine punishment tearing across the heavens. The aura of destruction spread through the world—the heavens themselves rejected such a defiant creation.

Rising slowly from the clouds, Liu Xi calculated the price he would have to pay to withstand this tribulation. This was no ordinary gathering of energy. If the pill were destroyed, the Emperor Pill embryo and the countless spirit herbs he had invested—worth over a hundred billion in Sovereign Spiritual Liquid—would all be lost.

”The Heavenly Demon Puppets won’t survive this…” Liu Xi muttered. This lightning calamity was far beyond anything they could endure.

Then his eyes hardened. ”With Bodhisattva and me both here, I refuse to believe we can’t withstand this tribulation and let the Emperor Pill truly be born!”

...

”Such terrifying tribulation clouds… all of it caused by that pill! Its aura is no weaker than a Heavenly Sovereign’s!”

Far away, a man with strange violet eyes stood in shock, his white robes fluttering. ”What kind of alchemist could refine something like this in the Northern Region?!”

”Haha… even Violet Cloud Lord came to see.” A bald man in gray robes emerged from the void, his round face wearing a mild smile.

Moments later, another figure descended—a man in a gold robe, hawk-nosed and cold-faced.

These three were none other than the overlords of the Northern Region: Violet Cloud Lord of the Violet Cloud Sect, Venerable Thunder Note of Thunder Note Mountain, and Golden Eagle Emperor of the Golden Eagle Mansion.

And beyond them, countless other powerhouses approached, drawn by the commotion. Their numbers and might rivaled even those of the entire West Heaven Continent.
