BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

Beneath the towering Bodhisattva Ancient Tree, a radiant galaxy hung suspended in the air. The flowing river of light was composed entirely of pure Sovereign Spiritual Liquid, each drop brimming with boundless and majestic Spiritual Energy that rippled through heaven and earth. Within that shining river sat a lone figure. Azure flames coiled around his body like living dragons, devouring the seemingly endless Sovereign Spiritual Liquid.

His entire being had become a bottomless black hole; with every breath, he absorbed hundreds of thousands of drops, yet his body remained calm and unmoving, showing no disturbance on the surface. Only the visible, steadily rising pressure surrounding him revealed that all of that energy had not disappeared—it had been fully refined and absorbed into his body.

The Sovereign Spiritual Liquid, purified and tempered countless times by the azure flame, transformed into the purest essence of Spiritual Energy. A brief refinement was enough for Liu Xi to infuse it into his Sovereign Sea. As the Spiritual Energy expanded, his Sovereign Sea continuously widened, his cultivation naturally rising with it. At this moment, he had already recovered to the 3rd Grade Sovereign Realm, steadily approaching the 4th Grade.

The once-colorless Sovereign Sea now shimmered with a pale blue hue, coiled by azure flames and taking the shape of a blooming lotus. Its purity and danger exceeded that of ordinary Earth Sovereigns—only Heavenly Sovereigns could compare. With such a foundation, Liu Xi’s combat strength was destined to far surpass others of the same realm.

After returning, among the four God Clans, only the Luo God Clan remained somewhat stable. Though turmoil arose, under Luo Tianshen’s firm suppression, their overall situation stayed under control. The other three—Xue Lingzi, Li Wushuang, and Gu Aotian—were far less fortunate. Their clans’ treasuries had been emptied, even the weapons of their armies confiscated. Deprived of circulating Sovereign Spiritual Liquid, uprisings broke out endlessly. Countless smaller factions either defected or declared independence.

The four God Clans ruled over the entire Little West Heaven Region, and beneath them, countless lesser factions scattered across its vast lands. Now that Xue Lingzi and the others had stripped even their clansmen’s reserves, they had practically forced rebellion upon themselves. In order to suppress the chaos, they were drowning in their own crisis. Their hatred for Liu Xi grew by the day, but lacking the strength to act, they could only bury it deep within their hearts.

Liu Xi, of course, knew nothing of this—and even if he did, he wouldn’t care. With his power recovering steadily, a few Earth Sovereign-level factions were nothing he couldn’t crush with a wave of his hand.

Half a month passed.

Half of the Sovereign Spiritual Liquid in the sky had already been consumed. Liu Xi’s aura surged once more, breaking through to the 9th Grade Sovereign Realm. Compared to half a month ago, his presence was now as vast as heaven and earth.

Thunderclouds gathered in the sky, rumbling like a furious dragon. Bolts of lightning, thick as mountains, descended from the heavens and crashed against Liu Xi’s body. Yet his expression remained unchanged. The power of the Azure Lotus Flame refined every strike of lightning, transforming its violent force into pure energy that furthered his advancement.

Nine bolts of thunder fell in total—each one a calamity that ordinary Earth Sovereigns would not dare to face. But Liu Xi stood firm, unshaken, refining them all with ease. When the last bolt faded, the clouds dispersed unwillingly, and a wave of immense Spiritual Energy burst forth from Liu Xi’s body.

He had successfully stepped into the Lower Earth Sovereign Realm.

His Sovereign Sea, filled to the brim, shattered and spread throughout his body. Every cell became its own Sovereign Sea, each containing a boundless ocean of Spiritual Energy. Normally, this step required years of refinement to achieve, as one’s body needed to be tempered enough to contain the Sovereign Seas. But Liu Xi’s body had long been reforged through countless trials—this breakthrough came as naturally as breathing.

After reaching the Earth Sovereign Realm, his need for Sovereign Spiritual Liquid only grew. The azure flames around him surged violently, splitting into dozens of flame dragons that devoured the remaining liquid at tenfold speed. At the same time, Liu Xi could clearly sense the vast difference between himself and ordinary Lower Earth Sovereigns. Compared to those God Clan Sovereigns, his body’s capacity for Spiritual Energy was at least ten times greater.

This was an excellent sign—proof of his unshakable foundation. Having once walked the path of Dou Qi and then reforged himself through Spiritual Energy, Liu Xi had tempered his body twice over. A tower that reached the heavens must begin from solid ground, and Liu Xi had laid that foundation twice. His future achievements would naturally soar far beyond the norm.

Another half month passed.

The galaxy of Sovereign Spiritual Liquid that once hung in the sky had nearly been drained, leaving only a fraction. Liu Xi’s aura was now condensed and vast, reaching the level of a High Earth Sovereign—on par with Luo Tianshen and the other God Clan leaders. Were they to witness this now, they would be struck speechless in disbelief.

But at this stage, Liu Xi could feel the difficulty of progressing further. The higher he climbed, the steeper the path became. Having reforged his foundation, his previous breakthroughs had been smooth, but beyond this point—especially toward the Heavenly Sovereign Realm—he could already sense how arduous it would be. Yet the firmer the foundation, the greater the potential. Once he crossed that threshold, his strength would surpass that of any ordinary Heavenly Sovereign by an immeasurable margin.

Even now, an ordinary High Earth Sovereign was someone Liu Xi could suppress with a single palm.

At that moment, he sensed a subtle change and slowly opened his eyes. His entire being radiated a serene and ethereal aura, as though a celestial being descended from the Nine Heavens. He rose to his feet, and with a sweep of his sleeves, the tattered azure robe he wore was instantly restored by the surrounding Spiritual Energy, looking as pristine as new.

Turning around, Liu Xi’s gaze fell upon the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree. It had already grown to its ten-thousand-zhang limit, its aura bursting with intense emotion—unwillingness, defiance. It was about to shatter its own limits.

A faint smile spread across Liu Xi’s face, his eyes gleaming with delight.

”You’re preparing to converge your spirit—that’s a good sign. Go ahead, focus on it. I’ll guard you personally. No one will disturb your path of Spirit Convergence.”

The Bodhisattva Ancient Tree quivered lightly in response.

With a wave of his hand, an overwhelming surge of Spiritual Energy spread across heaven and earth as Liu Xi withdrew the remaining half of the Sovereign Spiritual Liquid. He would stand guard and could not afford to draw on the ambient energy himself, lest he disturb the tree’s breakthrough.

”When you’re ready, begin. I’ll be here, guarding you until the end.”

The Bodhisattva Ancient Tree trembled violently, erupting with an immense suction force. Infinite power of heaven and earth was drawn toward it as a colossal vortex of Spiritual Energy took shape above its ten-thousand-zhang canopy. Even the surrounding storms that once served as barriers were stripped bare, their energy siphoned completely into the swirling maelstrom.

The vortex reached heights of tens of thousands of zhang, its narrow base rooted in the earth while its wide mouth pierced the heavens. Endless Spiritual Energy poured down like a celestial waterfall, flooding into the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree.

The storm pressure it produced was unimaginably terrifying—even Liu Xi was forced to retreat. Such destructive force could easily tear apart an ordinary Earth Sovereign. Even Luo Tianshen and the others, who could once traverse the Spiritual Storms, would never be able to approach this tempest. This was the tree’s instinctive self-protection during Spirit Convergence.

Liu Xi clasped his hands behind his back, standing in midair. The Bodhisattva Ancient Tree was no longer visible—only a massive Spiritual Energy vortex remained, stretching endlessly between heaven and earth.

”Heavenly Sovereigns are divided into Spiritual Grade, Immortal Grade, and Saint Grade... I wonder, once the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree completes its Spirit Convergence, which level it will reach?”
