BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

Skylaw Continent, Northern Domain, Northern Region.

Within a remote and nameless mountain range, Liu Xi finally selected a site to refine his pill after finding Bodhisattva. The birth of an Emperor Pill would stir tremendous commotion—it would not be small by any means. Thus, the location itself didn’t matter; what mattered was who stood guard. With Bodhisattva here, unless three to five Heavenly Sovereigns appeared together, no one could disturb Liu Xi’s refinement.

Half a year had passed since Liu Xi arrived in the Great Thousand Worlds. His current strength had already surpassed his Half-Step Dou Di realm on the Dou Qi Continent, still a short step from the Heavenly Sovereign stage. Now that his foundation was solid, it was time to regain his peak state. Once he broke through to Heavenly Sovereign, Liu Xi could begin his assault on the next realm—after all, Heavenly Sovereign was only his starting point.

Standing upon the clouds, Liu Xi turned his gaze toward Mandala, who had insisted on following him. The petite girl in her black dress looked solemn and determined. Seeing this, Liu Xi’s expression softened slightly. Though she could not help much, her decision to follow showed courage—her path would only broaden from here.

He gave Bodhisattva a look and smiled. ”Watch over her.”

”I will,” Bodhisattva replied gently. With a wave of his hand, a current of Spiritual Energy swept Mandala away, landing her safely on a distant peak.

The girl’s face showed confusion as she turned to Bodhisattva. ”What is he planning to do? Will there be danger? I might not be of much use, but I won’t back down.”

Bodhisattva raised his head, his eyes resting on Liu Xi’s figure still standing amidst the clouds. His voice was calm. ”It’s nothing serious. He’s merely refining a pill. The commotion will be loud, that’s all. With me here, nothing will happen.”

”Refining... a pill?” Mandala blinked in disbelief. Even in the Great Thousand Worlds, alchemists capable of refining Spirit Pills were extremely rare and highly sought after. The higher their rank, the greater the reverence they commanded.

Up in the sky, Liu Xi flipped his hand. A turquoise sphere of light, the size of a human head, floated above his palm, radiating waves of vast energy. It pulsed with light like a beating heart, each throb brimming with immense power—power that only Liu Xi could truly grasp. Without his suppression, the energy it exuded each second would rival that of a Perfect Earth Sovereign.

This was the Emperor Pill embryo.

The Dou Qi Continent’s limited heavens and earth had constrained more than just the peak experts—it had constrained this embryo as well. If left to cultivate freely in the Great Thousand Worlds for ten thousand years, it could have become a Heavenly Sovereign on its own.

”Once I complete this Emperor Pill,” Liu Xi said with quiet confidence, ”its vast Spiritual Energy will cleanse my body. Coupled with my Dou Di foundation, I have a ninety-eight percent chance of breaking through to Heavenly Sovereign.”

That was the purpose of bringing the Emperor Pill embryo across worlds—this moment.

He flicked his wrist, sending the orb of light rising higher and higher until it floated among the clouds. The energy within pulsed violently, its outer membrane thinning under pressure.

Spreading his arms, Liu Xi’s body glowed with a faint cyan light. In an instant, boundless azure flames erupted from him, surging skyward. These flames, deepened and thickened by traces of chaotic energy, now carried a heavy and ancient aura. Their might could only be described as terrifying. Even an ordinary Dou Di would not dare to face this Azure Flame head-on.

Yet Liu Xi knew that if he were to face a Heavenly Sovereign now, the difference in realm would still press him down. In cultivation, strength ruled—battling above one’s level was possible, but risky. If overwhelming strength could end a fight, why gamble one’s life?

As the Azure Flame coiled and surged, an enormous azure cauldron materialized high in the sky—its vast form etched with lotus patterns, each line forming the image of a living lotus that swayed gently amidst the fire.

Condense flame into cauldron!

The cauldron towered across ten thousand meters, holding the glowing orb within. As the light membrane dissolved, a purple-red pill appeared, radiating a majestic aura of medicinal fragrance.

Hiss!

The pill trembled violently, attempting to escape. But before it could, countless pillars of fire erupted from the cauldron like roaring dragons, sealing every path. They spat waves of blazing flame upon the purple-red pill, intending to refine and reshape it anew.

The Azure Flame enveloped the pill, its tendrils threading through each pore. The pill let out a defiant hum—it possessed a nascent spirit, unwilling to die. But Liu Xi only smiled. The more fiercely it resisted, the higher its potential. The stronger its struggle, the greater the final perfection of the Emperor Pill.

Though the embryo fought with all its might, it could not withstand Liu Xi’s relentless assault. Slowly, it broke apart within the fire, dissolving into countless shimmering light particles. These luminous motes drifted outward yet refused to scatter, forming a vast network like strands of silk. The energy they contained was enough to tempt even Perfect Earth Sovereigns.

”That will do,” Liu Xi murmured with a grin.

From the Yao Clan, he had obtained the legacy of 10th Tier Pill refinement. Such a feat required harmony of heaven, earth, and man. But with this embryo, he had already bypassed half the process. All that remained was to temper it with immense Spiritual Energy.

Liu Xi drew out a Storage Ring, opening it with a flick. One after another, countless spirit herbs flew out—densely packed until they blotted out the sky.

Every one of these herbs was extraordinary; any ordinary Sovereign would call them heaven-grade treasures. The Dragon Abyss Auction Pavilion had scoured the entire Merchant Continent to collect them for him. The commotion had been enormous, and only through the efforts of the Pavilion—and Xuan Pao’s suppression of troublemakers—had the process gone smoothly.

Soon, more than one hundred thousand herbs filled the heavens like a lush ocean, their fragrance saturating the air. The nameless mountain range turned into a sea of divine medicine, sacred and intoxicating.

In the past, Hun Tiandi had sacrificed an entire continent—hundreds of billions of lives—to complete this pill, using blood and despair as fuel. Though he had reached Dou Di, the result was flawed, his strength merely ordinary among Dou Di’s.

But Liu Xi would not repeat that path. He had spent hundreds of billions of Sovereign Spiritual Liquid and scoured an entire continent for these one hundred thousand spirit herbs—all to forge this Emperor Pill to absolute perfection.
