BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

”Venerable Thunder Note, Golden Eagle Emperor—you’ve come as well. The aura of this pill is vast and ethereal, surpassing even us. A pill of such power can only be refined by an extraordinary master alchemist. Naturally, I must pay my respects.”

Violet Cloud Lord, his strange violet eyes flickering with cautious light, looked at the two and spoke in a tone neither warm nor cold.

”Indeed,” Venerable Thunder Note replied with a mild laugh, his voice full of praise. ”A grandmaster capable of refining such a pill is worthy of our personal visit.”

However, deep within his eyes, a cold gleam flashed—one that only the truly perceptive would notice.

”Tch! Humans are ever so hypocritical.” Golden Eagle Emperor sneered, his voice dripping with disdain. ”This emperor came for the pill itself. If that alchemist has no real strength, then the pill shall belong to me.”

A faint golden light rippled in his pupils as greed flickered within. His instincts told him that if he could devour this pill, even without achieving complete perfection at the High Earth Sovereign level, he would be able to shatter the heavenly barrier and step into the realm of the Heavenly Sovereign.

At those words, Violet Cloud Lord and Venerable Thunder Note froze momentarily before recovering their calm, choosing silence instead.

They too coveted the pill—but such desires were not to be spoken aloud in public.

’Crude beast!’ they cursed inwardly in unison.

The three exchanged wary glances, maintaining their distance. After a silent moment, they each took off toward the mountain range where Liu Xi was refining the pill.

One glance was all it took to recognize each other for what they were—people better avoided.

Farther away, countless powerhouses of the Northern Region followed close behind. Their faces varied, but all bore the same expressions—shock, anticipation, and hunger.

Even knowing their chances were slim to none, they couldn’t resist drawing near. After all, even a one-in-ten-thousand chance at fortune was worth the risk.

”Trouble’s coming,” Bodhisattva said calmly. His Spiritual Perception had already detected the approaching auras—Violet Cloud Lord, Venerable Thunder Note, Golden Eagle Emperor, and many more still converging in the distance.

”Violet Cloud Lord… Venerable Thunder Note… Golden Eagle Emperor…” Mandala murmured, her delicate face growing increasingly grave with each name. ”Those three are the true overlords of the Northern Region. Over half its lands are under their control, and the rest are rapidly being consumed by them. Each of them is a Perfect Earth Sovereign, commanding countless subordinates…”

Her brows knitted, anxiety filling her heart. ”If my true body were here, I could fight one of them—but right now, I don’t even have the qualification to intervene.”

”Don’t worry.” Bodhisattva smiled faintly. ”I’ve seen plenty of those blinded by greed. If they make a move, I’ll erase them all.”

He turned slightly. ”Xuan Pao, watch over this little one.”

Xuan Pao bowed deeply, eyes full of respect. ”Yes, Master Bodhisattva.”

He knew very well that the man before him was no ordinary existence—a true Heavenly Sovereign, a divine being formed of heaven and earth’s essence, his every gesture resonating with celestial law.

Bodhisattva’s figure blurred and vanished. The next instant, he reappeared high above the sky, silently watching the three from afar. He was not bloodthirsty, but if they dared act rashly, he would strike without mercy.

Beneath the tribulation clouds, Liu Xi stood beside the cauldron, suppressing the Emperor Pill within while gazing up at the heavens, ready for what was to come.

If this pill escaped or was destroyed after all his efforts—it would be a loss too great to bear.

Boom! Rumble…!

The clouds above churned layer upon layer, stacking like dark mountains. Within them, black lightning dragons coiled restlessly, each surge of thunder carrying a suffocating aura of annihilation.

Then—BOOM!

A colossal black thunder dragon burst from the clouds, tearing the sky as it roared toward the cauldron. Space itself was ripped open in its wake, leaving behind gaping scars of darkness.

”ROAR!”

Within the cauldron, the Emperor Pill sensed the incoming lightning and attempted to shatter its confines to flee. But the instant its Spiritual Energy surged, countless Azure Flame Dragons coiled around it, suppressing its strength until it dissolved into nothing.

Its power came from Liu Xi’s own refinement—there was no way he would allow it to act without restraint.

Liu Xi steadied the trembling cauldron, then raised his gaze. The thunder dragon was already upon him.

”Azure Lotus Celestial Body!”

His voice was low but resolute. Torrents of Spiritual Energy burst forth as the Azure Flame, fused with Chaotic Spiritual Energy, burned brighter and heavier than before. Its power grew both fierce and profound, forming a body of immense solidity.

In an instant, a colossal form ten thousand feet tall took shape—its face identical to Liu Xi’s, down to every strand of hair. Draped in robes of living flame, it radiated searing power so intense that even the void warped and cracked like a spider’s web wherever it touched.

The oppressive heat spread across the heavens, shaking all who beheld it.

The Azure Lotus Celestial Body moved like lightning, whipping up a raging storm as it lunged forward and seized the thunder dragon in its blazing hands.

”ROAR!”

The thunder dragon bellowed in fury, its black lightning wrapping around the Celestial Body, intertwining with the Azure Flame in a storm of destruction that made onlookers tremble and lose all will to resist.

But the Celestial Body did not falter. With boundless might, it hammered the thunder dragon again and again—until with a deafening explosion, the dragon shattered into countless arcs of lightning.

Those lightning bolts erupted violently, striking Liu Xi’s form, burning his hair, tearing his robes, and cracking his Celestial Body apart.

Soon, his towering figure was tattered and broken, the Spiritual Energy leaking from it raging across heaven and earth like a storm.

Far away, Violet Cloud Lord, Venerable Thunder Note, and Golden Eagle Emperor all turned pale. Not only were they shaken by the thunder’s power—they were stunned by Liu Xi’s divine form.

It was not one of the ninety-nine recognized Sovereign Celestial Bodies, yet its might could rival those at the very top!

Even a Heavenly Sovereign would be cautious before such lightning, yet this Celestial Body still endured—it had not been destroyed in a single strike.

Then—visions flickered before Liu Xi’s eyes. Xiao Yixian, Zi Yan, Qing Lin, Yun Yun… even Hun Tiandi, Gu Yuan, and Xiao Yan…

”Heart Demon Lightning?!”

Liu Xi’s expression darkened. The lightning didn’t just destroy—it carried illusion and temptation, striking directly at the heart. The visions nearly shattered his Celestial Body.

But Liu Xi had his own countermeasures.

He closed his eyes, steadying his breath. When they opened again, they were utterly calm—divinity had overtaken his human mind, leaving no room for weakness.

The illusions flickered and faded like passing clouds. Nothing could shake his will.

”Azure Lotus Celestial Body—Refine Heaven and Earth!”

A vast suction force erupted from the battered divine form. The raging lightning was drawn inward, devoured completely.

Moments later, the once-ruined Celestial Body began to heal, growing more solid and radiant than before.

Refining—or rather, assimilating.

This was one of the innate divine abilities of the Azure Lotus Celestial Body: any pure energy attack that failed to destroy it would only make it stronger.
