BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

”Hiss... this youth is terrifying. To fight evenly with a Perfect Earth Sovereign while only being a High Earth Sovereign—such power is beyond belief!”

Old Man Lin Dong’s expression grew solemn as his sharp gaze fixed upon the two figures locked in combat. Stroking his beard, he spoke in a grave tone.

The others all nodded in agreement. The initial disdain they felt had long since vanished. To battle a Perfect Earth Sovereign head-on at the High Earth Sovereign realm—this was no ordinary feat. Even though Old Monster Xuan Pao hadn’t summoned his Sovereign Celestial Body, he was far from a weak opponent.

That single exchange alone made many experts at the scene realize that if they were in his place, they would have had to exert their full strength to defend against it. Yet Liu Xi’s strike appeared effortless—like a casual gesture—revealing the gulf that separated them.

Old Monster Xuan Pao glared venomously at Liu Xi. For someone of his standing, to suffer injury at the hands of a mere High Earth Sovereign before so many witnesses was intolerable humiliation.

What he didn’t know was that Liu Xi’s Spiritual Energy capacity, quality, and purity were all far beyond the Earth Sovereign level—Xuan Pao himself could not compare.

”Vicious brat! You’ve enraged me—and the cost of that rage is one you cannot afford!”

Old Monster Xuan Pao snarled. Vast black Spiritual Energy erupted around him, surging outward in a furious tide.

”Xuanming Celestial Body!”

In an instant, the boundless dark energy condensed into a colossal form towering tens of thousands of zhang high. Then, Xuan Pao merged into it completely.

That black manifestation bore his own visage. The chilling yin energy surrounding it froze the very air, crystallizing the space itself!

”Boy, prepare to die!”

Liu Xi merely chuckled. Azure flames roared to life around him, his Spiritual Energy weaving into form—until a towering azure figure, equal in scale, materialized above the heavens.

It shared Liu Xi’s face—handsome, calm, and resolute—robed in flame, with a lotus-shaped sigil etched between its brows.

The flames rippled outward, their heat so intense that the void itself distorted. The closer one drew, the higher the temperature soared, as if the heavens were set ablaze.

This was Liu Xi’s former Dou Di form, reforged with Spiritual Energy and the Azure Lotus Flame—a unique Celestial Body he had created himself. It was no mere supreme construct; it was the Azure Lotus Celestial Body.

”Azure Lotus Manifestation!”

As Liu Xi merged with the towering figure, a sharp gasp spread among the onlookers.

”What a terrifying manifestation—it’s on par with Old Monster Xuan Pao’s! Is he really only a High Earth Sovereign?! Even most Perfect Earth Sovereigns can’t match this!”

”Look at that flame! It’s distorting space—it must be a divine flame!”

”Only the Fire Spirit Clan wields such sacred flames... Could he be one of them?”

Old Monster Xuan Pao’s fury burned hotter with each word. In the Great Thousand World, prodigies capable of crossing realms to fight existed—but to be the one defeated in such a battle meant becoming someone else’s stepping stone. He had become that very stone.

Though Liu Xi was ”only” a High Earth Sovereign, his Spiritual Energy capacity and strength were on par with Xuan Pao’s—if not superior.

”Sovereign Technique—Xuanming Heavy Water!”

Old Monster Xuan Pao’s towering form clasped its hands, summoning an immense ocean of pitch-black water that spread across the heavens, boundless and pure.

Someone cried out in excitement.

”It’s here! The famed Xuanming Heavy Water! He once trapped a rival Earth Sovereign within it and dissolved his strength completely!”

The black sea surged violently, its waves rising like a titanic beast—its shape morphing into that of a deep-sea leviathan, jaws wide like an abyssal maw.

Liu Xi’s eyes flashed. ”Demonic Flame Annihilates the World!”

It was the signature technique of the Pure Lotus Demon Saint, now powered by Liu Xi’s azure flames and infused with even greater Spiritual Energy.

A thunderous roar echoed—countless azure fire dragons burst forth, blazing across the heavens, their radiance piercing through the dark sea below.

The dragons howled and dove, colliding with the leviathan. Their claws tore through its body, azure fire flooding into the wounds. Under that purifying flame, the creature’s form dissolved—reduced to nothingness.

Though the flames dimmed under the heavy water’s pressure, the sea itself began to boil, vast clouds of steam billowing upward as the Azure Lotus Flame devoured everything.

Before long, to the shock of every spectator, the Xuanming Heavy Water—Old Monster Xuan Pao’s signature technique—was completely consumed!

This was no ordinary flame. Liu Xi’s Azure Lotus Flame carried the purifying force of the Pure Lotus Demon Flame, the devouring essence of the Void Devouring Flame, and countless others, forming a chaos-born flame capable of refining all creation.

Before their very eyes, the azure dragon coiled around the Xuanming Manifestation, smothering it completely. No matter how the old monster struggled, his form was burned to ash.

With a final deafening explosion, the manifestation shattered into fragments. Even the dense yin aura that followed could not stop the relentless azure blaze.

The crowd stood dumbfounded. Liu Xi had crushed a Perfect Earth Sovereign—one of the Western Heaven Continent’s most feared experts—with effortless ease.

It was clear now: alone, none of them could stand against him.

”Everyone, attack together! Kill him first—then we’ll discuss who gets the divine treasure!”

”Agreed!”

”Seconded!”

”Apologies, young friend—strength must decide!”

One after another, voices rose. Their alliance was fragile, born of fear and greed, yet it was undeniably aimed at Liu Xi.

As their combined killing intent surged, Liu Xi only stared back with icy calm. Under his gaze, none could meet his eyes for long—their spirits trembled.

Then, a gentle voice whispered within his mind.

”Leave them to me. These people can’t harm me. Once I recover, my power will surpass the past.”

It was the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree.

But Liu Xi only laughed. ”That won’t do. I promised to guard you until your spirit unites—and besides…” His aura flared, boundless as the ocean, rolling like thunder through heaven and earth.

”…a dragon trapped in shallow waters is still a dragon. How could mere fish and shrimp hope to toy with me?”
