BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

A wave of hunger surged up from within. Liu Xi immediately circulated his technique, and the Spiritual Energy he had previously absorbed twisted into a single, unified stream. Without the restriction of Dou Qi, it flowed freely along his meridians like a fully drawn windmill, dispersing through every corner of his body.

In an instant, Liu Xi stepped into the Sensing Stage, then the Spiritual Movement Stage, followed by the Spiritual Rotation, Divine Soul, Heavenly Fusion, Heavenly Transformation, and finally, the Heavenly Completion Stage. Streams of milky-white energy surrounded him, merging into his body with each breath.

Azure flames rippled around him, coiling like dragons devouring the world’s Spiritual Energy, before exhaling refined essence back into him. Each wisp of Spiritual Energy coursed through Liu Xi’s body, and his very cells seemed to awaken, releasing sounds of elation as they absorbed the purified power.

Then came the Three Sovereign Disasters.

The Human Body Disaster—his body had once reached the level of a Dou Di, a vessel comparable to top-tier magical beasts on the Dou Qi Continent and divine beasts in this world.

The Spiritual Energy Disaster—his energy, refined through Heavenly Flames, was as pure as that of a Heavenly Sovereign, and imbued with flame power that made it even stronger.

The Spirit Disaster—his Emperor Realm Soul began to undergo a mysterious transformation, gradually aligning with the laws of this vast Great Thousand World. That familiar sense of complete mastery returned to him once again.

The endless stream of refined Spiritual Energy poured into his body, filling every void. Like lightning piercing through darkness, his Sovereign Sea was successfully formed—Liu Xi had stepped into the Sovereign Stage. Slowly opening his eyes, azure flames burned within his pupils, like black holes that could devour everything. In the next instant, the flames vanished, leaving only deep, dark pupils glimmering with divine light.

”Hu~” Liu Xi exhaled a mist of pure white. The vapor shimmered with crystalline brilliance and gradually dispersed into the air—it was condensed Spiritual Energy, refined to perfection.

Floating in midair, Liu Xi’s face revealed a hint of helplessness. He rubbed his temples and murmured, ”Without the tempered power of Dou Qi, refining Spiritual Energy by myself will take an unknown amount of time before my body is fully saturated again and my cultivation returns to its peak.”

By replacing the Dou Qi system with the Spiritual Energy system, Liu Xi had now become a Sovereign expert. His control over power—and over the world—was restored. Yet his body, now like an endless black hole, showed no ripple no matter how much refined energy he absorbed. His realm was there, but his power was not.

”I wonder how far the four clans’ Sovereign Spiritual Liquid can take me back… Robbing for it would be frowned upon. Hah, if only someone else would deliver it to me.” Liu Xi chuckled at himself—such convenient fortune didn’t just fall from the heavens every day. Looking around, he found the entire land in chaos. The sky was scarred with black cracks, and the ground below was covered in deep fissures.

In the distance, the four Earth Sovereigns of the God Clans stared blankly. When Liu Xi turned his gaze toward them, they all lowered their heads in terror, too afraid to even meet his eyes. Ironically, they were Earth Sovereigns—while Liu Xi, in name, was only a 1st Grade Sovereign. But after witnessing the terrifying storm he had caused by abolishing his Dou Qi, their courage had long since shattered.

Just then, a branch from the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree extended downward, touching the top of Liu Xi’s head. Pure Spiritual Energy flowed into his body through the branch, which Liu Xi refined easily into essence aligned with his will.

In moments, his aura surged, his Sovereign Sea expanded, and he broke through to the 2nd Grade Sovereign realm. Liu Xi smiled gently and raised his hand to pluck away the branch, halting the Bodhisattva Tree’s attempt to continue.

”Don’t waste your strength. To restore me fully, you’d have to drain every bit of your Spiritual Energy. I have my own plan for recovery. You’re a divine object of heaven and earth—if you try to gather energy again afterward, you’ll invite backlash. You must not waste it on me.”

The Bodhisattva Tree quivered softly, signaling its understanding. Liu Xi then sat cross-legged in midair, calming his spirit and drawing in Spiritual Energy from the heavens, refining it into pure power and feeding it into his boundless body.

The Bodhisattva Tree also began gathering strength, preparing for its own condensation of energy. Being a divine existence favored by the Great Thousand World itself, it had already regained its peak state after arriving here. Yet even such a being could not defy the law—if it gathered Spiritual Energy too forcefully, heaven and earth would strike back.

Ten days passed.

A figure descended through the Spiritual Energy storm, its Celestial Body shimmering as it stepped into the space. The sudden presence awakened Liu Xi and the Bodhisattva Tree.

Slowly opening his eyes, Liu Xi looked into the distance as several familiar auras approached—Luo Tianshen first, followed by Xue Lingzi, Li Wushuang, and Gu Aotian. All four arrived in succession. They at least knew proper etiquette, each coming alone. Only Luo Tianshen’s expression was calm; the others looked like mourners at a funeral.

As they neared, their eyes widened in astonishment at the devastated land. Then they turned to Liu Xi—and were even more shocked.

Ten days ago, his aura had been chaotic and unrefined, typical of someone newly ascended from the lower plane. Now, his Spiritual Energy was serene and vast, his presence so oppressive that even though he was only a 2nd Grade Sovereign, he exuded a danger they could all feel.

”My Lord, this is the twenty billion Sovereign Spiritual Liquid from the Luo God Clan. Please, inspect it.” Luo Tianshen respectfully offered a ring. Its craftsmanship was exquisite, glowing faintly with spatial waves—not a Storage Ring, but what this world called a Xumi Ring.

Liu Xi waved his hand lightly, and Spiritual Power wrapped around the ring, drawing it to him. He grasped it, sending his Spiritual Perception inside. In an instant, a vast river of silver light appeared within his senses—a flowing galaxy of Spiritual Essence without end. Indeed, the total amount neared twenty billion.

Retracting his perception, Liu Xi glanced at Luo Tianshen with a slightly amused look. ’The Luo God Clan’s foundations are still impressive… though I might have asked for too little.’ Luo Tianshen could only force a dry laugh under that gaze, feeling profoundly uneasy.

”My Lord, is the amount sufficient?” Liu Xi flicked his hand casually.

”It’s enough.” Then his eyes swept toward the others. Xue Lingzi, Li Wushuang, and Gu Aotian exchanged bitter smiles—they knew there was no escaping this. Each raised their hand, displaying their Xumi Rings and Bracelets.

A booming surge of spatial energy erupted. Three brilliant rivers of light spilled across the heavens, each one stretching endlessly, equal to or greater than the Luo God Clan’s offering. In total, Liu Xi now possessed more than eighty billion Sovereign Spiritual Liquid.

Alongside them were mountains of spirit ores, herbs, artifacts, and scrolls—so many that some bore bloodstains, likely looted from fallen warriors to make up the numbers.

Liu Xi frowned slightly at the sight. ”What am I supposed to do with all these… I’ll have to sell them somewhere.” His gaze shifted toward Luo Tianshen, who was visibly delighted—no doubt realizing that with the three clans’ strength crippled, the Luo God Clan could rise again unchallenged.

But since there were no false accounts, Liu Xi let it pass. The values were indeed worth forty billion each. ”Now you may leave.”

The three clans’ leaders looked utterly miserable, their faces twisted as they handed over their treasures, each bowing low before turning away. ”Thank you, My Lord, for your mercy.”

Watching their retreating figures, Liu Xi turned the Xumi Rings and Bracelets in his hand, a faint smile curving his lips. With this much Sovereign Spiritual Liquid, his recovery would surely accelerate.
