BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

Under the boundless starry sky, the faint moonlight illuminated the heavens. More than a hundred gorgeously robed experts of the West Heaven Continent surrounded Liu Xi, their faces filled with solemnity. Liu Xi’s strength was far beyond their expectations — to defy realms and defeat a Perfect Earth Sovereign while only being a High Earth Sovereign himself — such talent was rare even in the Great Thousand Worlds. But the divine entity behind him was far too tempting. Once matured, it would surely reach the Heavenly Sovereign Realm!

A Heavenly Sovereign — an emperor of the Great Thousand Worlds! To countless cultivators, it was the ultimate pursuit, no less than how the Dou Saints of the Dou Qi Continent yearned for the Dou Di Realm. For even a sliver of that chance, these people would become like starving hyenas smelling blood, pouncing without hesitation.

Merged with his Azure Lotus Celestial Body, Liu Xi’s power surged with explosive intensity. In that instant, a surge of fierce pride rose within his heart — ”Even if a thousand men stand before me, I shall still advance!”

”Come then,” he said with a proud smile, his laughter resounding through heaven and earth, ”let me see what kind of ’experts’ the Great Thousand Worlds truly breeds.”

His voice, amplified by Spiritual Energy, thundered across the sky. Drawing in the Spiritual Energy of heaven and earth, the ten-thousand-zhang Azure Lotus Manifestation loomed high. The azure flames of his robe blazed upward, reaching the heavens. Each ripple of sound turned into a wave that shook the very void.

”Attack!” someone shouted.

In an instant, the night sky blazed like day. Waves of Spiritual Energy erupted across the battlefield, shaking the very heavens. The surging, torrential energy made even Liu Xi’s eyes narrow slightly — but only slightly.

A smirk curved his lips. ’So what if they come? Fish and shrimp remain fish and shrimp — how could they ever offend a true dragon’s majesty?’

Before the hundred towering Manifestations ranging from thousands to tens of thousands of zhang tall, a faint shadow appeared within Liu Xi’s Manifestation, merging seamlessly into it.

”Yellow Spring Divine Anger!”

It was Liu Xi’s Divine Spirit — a genuine Emperor Realm Soul converted to the Spiritual Energy system. Compared to his not-yet-fully-recovered energy cultivation, his soul cultivation was still far superior.

”Roooar!”

A heaven-shaking roar burst from his mouth. The terrifying soundwave transformed into an immense shockwave that spread in every direction. Wherever it passed, space shattered and splintered, leaving behind web-like black cracks in the void!

”Scatter!” someone screamed — but it was too late. The shockwave engulfed all within its radius, crashing into the hundreds of Manifestations.

For a brief instant, the world lost its color. Heaven and earth faded to black and white as many fell into trance, their consciousness muddled. The power, though spread too thin to annihilate them, had utterly shaken their souls.

Liu Xi felt the pressure mounting. Without a proper medium, Spiritual Power could only serve as support. But that much was enough.

”Black Flame Sky Veil!”

Forming a hand seal, Liu Xi released an eerie and sinister aura. As the final seal solidified, infinite energy erupted outward. azure flames gushed out like an unsealed flood, surging across the sky until the moonlight itself was swallowed whole.

A layer of azure fire, vast and endless, spread across the heavens — a flaming curtain covering the world. In an instant, all surrounding Spiritual Energy was drawn dry.

This was the evolved form of the Void Devouring Flame’s domain — once used by Hun Huzi of the Hall of Souls to stall for time. Now reborn through Liu Xi’s Azure Lotus Flame , its power had multiplied beyond imagination.

”Not good! My manifestation is weakening! The Spiritual Energy is being drained!”

Cries of panic rose from the crowd as they discovered their Manifestations flickering and dissolving. Their energy was vanishing — or rather, being devoured — drawn into the endless azure curtain above them.

”I’m losing mine too!”

”Same here!”

Old Man Gui Zhen narrowed his eyes at the sky, his voice deep and wary. ”This isn’t a Spiritual Array, but it’s drawing the power of heaven and earth — devouring our energy. It must be some ultimate divine technique!”

”Who cares what it is!” Old Man Lin Dong growled fiercely. ”If we can’t destroy it, it’ll drain us dry — and when that happens, we’ll be nothing but meat on his chopping board!”

Forming seals, the elder unleashed a tide of bone-chilling cold. Behind him, hundreds of towering crystalline ice spears took shape, each filled with lethal intent.

Whoosh—whoosh—whoosh!

The ice spears shot forth, tearing through space, freezing the air into crystalline trails. But before they could reach the blazing curtain, the crowd watched in horror as the spears melted away, devoured completely before impact.

”Impossible!” Old Man Lin Dong gasped. The freezing energy carrying his killing intent had been absorbed entirely — with no backlash?

He didn’t know that the Azure Lotus Flame’s refining power was absolute. No matter the energy’s nature, all was reduced to pure essence under its heat.

One after another, the others attacked — their Spiritual Energy torrents sweeping toward the veil. Yet every assault only made it thicker, stronger, more radiant.

Their Spiritual Energy waned rapidly. Some lost half their power already; others could no longer sustain their Manifestations at all. Only a handful managed to keep their forms stable, though their strength was fading fast.

”No matter how strange this thing is, if we kill his true body, it’ll collapse!”

Immediately, all eyes turned to Liu Xi.

”You’re too late,” Liu Xi’s cold voice echoed from the sky. ”The moment the Sky Veil descended… your fates were already sealed.”

The Black Flame Sky Veil required preparation — the same reason Hun Huzi once needed time to activate it against the Yao Clan. The moment his Yellow Spring Divine Anger stunned his foes, the technique’s formation had already been completed.

Now, with their energy devoured, Liu Xi’s own reserves had been completely restored.

Boom!

From the sky descended a pillar of flame. The Azure Lotus Manifestation reached out and grasped it, the fire collapsing into a titanic spear of azure flame — tens of thousands of zhang long, gleaming with annihilating light.

”Come then—fight!”

Liu Xi charged forward, spear in hand, plunging into the enemy ranks like a tiger into a flock of sheep. Each thrust, each sweep, each strike shattered another Manifestation into fragments of flame and smoke.

None could withstand even a single exchange. Every explosion of energy was instantly devoured by the Sky Veil, ensuring Liu Xi’s dominion remained absolute.

Spiritual Energy was the foundation of all. With theirs stripped away, even once-mighty Earth Sovereigns were reduced to powerless mortals.

Their screams echoed through the night as they plummeted toward the ground — not dead, but utterly helpless.

And to Liu Xi, they were nothing more than offerings to be carved at will.
