Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1201: 1200 confessions

Twenty minutes later, the Maybach stopped outside the residential area where Bai Yiyi lived.

“Give you ten minutes, bring Tongtong down.”

“What for?”

Bai Yiyi frowned and looked at Gu Kai.

“To eat.”

Gu Kai looked at her as if she were a monster, and Bai Yiyi snorted displeasedly, “Tongtong and I will eat at home, you go eat by yourself.”

Having said that, she no longer paid attention to Gu Kai, opened the car door, got out, and just entered the residential area, Gu Kai followed.

Bai Yiyi turned her head, “Why did you follow?”

“You said you’re eating at home, I’m coming up to see Tongtong.”

“You just saw Tongtong yesterday, why come again today? Can’t you wait a few more days?” Bai Yiyi was just forced into a kiss by him; how could she possibly welcome him to visit her home now.

Gu Kai raised his eyebrows, about to speak, but suddenly his phone rang.

Seeing him lower his head to reach for his phone, Bai Yiyi quickly walked into the hallway.

Gu Kai narrowed his eyes slightly, withdrew his gaze, glanced at the caller ID on his phone, frowned, and pressed the answer button, “Hello!”

“Ah Kai, patient in bed 36 suddenly fainted…”

“I’ll come back immediately.”

Gu Kai’s expression darkened as he spoke, turned, and jogged out of the residential area, got into the car, started the engine, and sped away.

“Yiyi, are you and Ah Kai dating?”

That evening, Bai Yiyi received a call from Fang Zhiwei. After exchanging pleasantries, Fang Zhiwei revealed the reason for her call.

Bai Yiyi, looking at Tongtong on the bed organizing medical toys, the image of Gu Kai’s handsome face emerged in her mind, she furrowed her brows and said faintly: “Sister Wei, I haven’t agreed to him yet.”

“Yiyi, you haven’t agreed to what with Ah Kai? The other day, you said every time you meet you argue, that it’s impossible to be together, but today in his office I saw you two getting along quite well.”

Fang Zhiwei’s voice carried a faint sadness, which naturally evoked pity in the listener.

Bai Yiyi didn’t dislike Fang Zhiwei. Although she told Ranran yesterday that she had intimate actions with Gu Kai, she could still understand Fang Zhiwei.

Because she dislikes Gu Kai, she thinks all this is Gu Kai’s fault.

It was Gu Kai who first provoked Fang Zhiwei, if he didn’t like Fang Zhiwei, he shouldn’t have bothered her, even dated for so long, and even accepted Fang Zhiwei’s proposal.

But in the end, he broke up with her for no reason.

“Sister Wei, what I told you that day wasn’t lying to you. Since you called me today, I don’t want to hide it from you. Gu Kai did confess to me, but I don’t believe him, so I haven’t accepted him yet.”

After Bai Yiyi spoke, the phone fell into silence.

She held the phone, watching Tongtong neatly organize everything and put it into her toolkit, she smiled and pointed next to Tongtong.

Tongtong turned around, slid off the bed, then picked up the toolkit and placed it on the table next to her.

“Ah Kai, he confessed to you?”

After a long pause, Fang Zhiwei’s voice came through the phone.

A surge of intense guilt welled up in Bai Yiyi’s heart; she felt so wicked, actually helping Gu Kai to hurt Fang Zhiwei.

She had never liked someone before, so she didn’t know what it felt like to hear another woman say that the man she liked had confessed his love to someone else. It must feel heart-breaking.

But from a young age, she had seen her mother sad and crying too many times, she knew that right now, on the other end of the phone, Fang Zhiwei’s heart must be shattered.

There was a moment when Bai Yiyi really wanted to tell the truth, but she held back and just softly responded, “Hmm.”

“Yiyi, I understand now, I said before, as long as Ah Kai didn’t like someone else, I would still try. But now, hearing from you that he has confessed to you, I will try hard to forget him. Yiyi, Ah Kai is not someone who easily falls in love, if he has confessed to you, it must mean he really likes you. Don’t hesitate, for Tongtong’s sake, just accept him, I wish you both happiness.”

After Fang Zhiwei finished speaking, she hung up directly.

Staring at the disconnected phone call, Bai Yiyi pursed her lips, set down the phone, and clapped her hands cheerfully towards Tongtong, saying, “Tongtong, come on, it’s time for a story before bed.”

“Cinderella.”

Tongtong dove into Bai Yiyi’s arms, looking up at her with a beaming smile.

Bai Yiyi smiled and said “Okay”, Tongtong crawled out of her embrace, climbed onto her bed, and pressed a switch on the wall above the bed that played children’s stories. The next second, a pleasant female voice filled the bedroom.

Tongtong fell asleep before the story ended.

Looking at her sweet sleeping face, Bai Yiyi’s face softened with a gentle smile. She got up, tucked Tongtong in, leaned down to kiss her tender cheek, turned off the light, and went back to the next room.

After taking a bath, Bai Yiyi picked up a book from the bedside and read for a while. Checking the time, it was already ten o’clock.

She picked up her phone and dialed Gu Kai’s number. He had clearly entered the residential area with her earlier but left after receiving a call.

Knowing Gu Kai’s routine, he likely had a call from the hospital and had to return there.

The phone rang a few times before Gu Kai’s voice came through, sounding tired: “Hello!”

Bai Yiyi’s eyes flickered as she asked softly, “Are you still at the hospital?”

“Yes, I just came out of surgery. I was about to return to my office. Why, is Tongtong not asleep yet?”

“Oh, no, Tongtong has already gone to sleep.”

On the phone, aside from Gu Kai’s voice, there were footsteps and then the sound of a door opening. Gu Kai probably had reached his office. “So, you were looking for me?”

“Fang Zhiwei called me tonight.”

Bai Yiyi hesitated before telling him.

“Oh?” Gu Kai’s tone lifted slightly before he asked, “What did she say?”

Bai Yiyi pursed her lips and said softly, “She asked me if I was together with you.”

“And how did you answer?”

On the other end, Gu Kai threw himself onto the couch, tiredly leaning against the back, straightening his legs, setting his phone on speaker mode on the coffee table, his left hand gently massaging his right arm.

“Hehe, I told her, but you can’t get mad,” Bai Yiyi laughed dryly.

“Did you put all the blame on me?”

Hearing her guilty tone, Gu Kai’s eyes narrowed suddenly.

“Don’t make it sound so bad. I was really helping you. Actually, that day Sister Wei drove me home and she asked me some questions. It’s only been a few days; if I contradicted myself too much, she wouldn’t believe it either.”

Gu Kai scoffed, “What did she ask you?”

“Didn’t I tell you? She just asked me if I was with you, and I told her you had confessed to me, but I haven’t accepted you yet.”

Bai Yiyi pretended to misunderstand his point, skipping over the topic she had discussed with Fang Zhiwei.
