Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1215: 1214

Bai Yiyi couldn’t help but burst into loud laughter after saying that.

She was imagining the scene of Gu Kai being surrounded and confessed to by a crowd of women, which would definitely be spectacular.

“You need to take your medicine.”

Gu Kai was quite speechless over Bai Yiyi’s childish comment.

The ringtone of the smartphone broke the silence, and Bai Yiyi pulled a face at Gu Kai before fishing out her phone and pressing the answer button, chirpily saying, “Hello, Ranran.”

“Yiyi, Aunt Bai and Tongtong are at my place. I just called my brother to pick you up for dinner. Did he come to get you?”

Wen Ran, knowing that Gu Kai and Bai Yiyi weren’t on good terms, was concerned that Bai Yiyi would refuse to ride with Gu Kai and made the call to check in.

Bai Yiyi cast a sidelong glance at Gu Kai driving, and seeing him focused ahead, she smiled and replied, “Ranran, I’m in his car now, we’ll be there soon.”

“That’s good, I was worried you’d be mad at my brother and not show up.”

“Why would I be mad at him? I can’t be bothered with him.” Bai Yiyi turned to look at the rapidly receding buildings outside the window.

Wen Ran chuckled on the other end of the phone, speaking up for Gu Kai, “Yiyi, my brother just has a temper, but he’s actually very kind-hearted.”

“He’s your brother, of course you think he’s the best.”

Bai Yiyi saw Gu Kai’s sour expression and couldn’t help but laugh again.

Gu Kai, listening to Bai Yiyi’s on-and-off chatter with Wen Ran, would occasionally glance at her beaming face, and for some reason, a faint warmth began to grow inside him.

Mo Xiuchen couldn’t come back for dinner due to a social engagement.

Wen Ran was busying herself with Bai Yiyi and her mother Bai Yuqin, while Gu Kai was mainly responsible for feeding Tongtong.

Tongtong’s habits were mostly similar to Gu Kai’s, including being picky about food.

Watching the father and daughter interact, Bai Yiyi gave up on the idea of having her mother and Tongtong come stay at her place.

After dinner, Tongtong didn’t want to go home and played for over an hour at Wen Ran’s Home.

Bai Yuqin followed upstairs, playing with Tongtong and the others on the third floor. A little after 8 p.m., Mo Xiuchen called Wen Ran.

Taking advantage of Wen Ran stepping out onto the balcony to answer the call, Bai Yiyi said to Gu Kai, “I’ll go home later to stay. For these next few days, my mom and Tongtong can temporarily live at your place. Tomorrow, if the reporters aren’t focusing on you and Fang Zhiwei anymore, I’ll bring them back.”

“Isn’t it nice to stay here?”

Gu Kai looked at Bai Yiyi, puzzled.

“That’s your place, not mine.” Bai Yiyi leaned back into the sofa and carelessly brushed her bangs away from her forehead.

“This is the birthday present I gave to Tongtong. Tongtong’s home is your home. If you don’t feel secure about it, someday we can transfer the ownership and change the name to yours.”

Bai Yiyi sat up straight and looked at Gu Kai weirdly, “Are you trying to make me out to be the mistress? If reporters find out, I’ll be drowned in their spit.”

While saying this, she suddenly tilted her head and squinted her eyes at Gu Kai.

Gu Kai reached out to straighten her head, but Bai Yiyi slapped his hand away, “How much must you hate me to come up with such a vicious idea?”

“Bai Yiyi, you really are…”

Gu Kai was so exasperated by her that he was at a loss for words.

He had meant well, trying to make her feel at home in the new place, and she was actually calling him malicious.

Bai Yiyi stood up: “I’m going back home now, later you can take my mom and Tongtong to the new place.”

“Bai Yiyi.” Gu Kai frowned and grabbed her arm.

With a yank, Bai Yiyi was pulled and fell onto the sofa. In the commotion, her hand just happened to land on his body…

She ended up in his arms.

For an instant, the air itself seemed to stop flowing.

When she came to her senses, she was shocked to find her hand in an inappropriate place.

Her fair cheeks were nearly dripping blood.

Her hand snapped back as if electrocuted, as her eyes flickered and avoided his gaze, looking elsewhere, “Gu Kai, let go of me.”

The other hand was still in his grasp, and Bai Yiyi felt the room temperature rise to forty degrees all of a sudden, with only one sensation: heat.

He hadn’t expected the accident either.

Bai Yiyi, sitting beside him in an unusual posture, couldn’t hear his voice, lifted her lowered head and looked at him.

“Crying out, “Gu Kai.”

Gu Kai pursed his lips, suppressing the odd thoughts in his heart, and let go of her, saying indifferently, “You stay with Tongtong tonight, so she won’t cry when she can’t find you in the middle of the night.”

Freed, Bai Yiyi immediately stood up.

She took a couple of steps back to keep a distance from him, her hands at her sides clenched into fists, still burning hot.

Wen Ran pushed the balcony door open, finished her call, and came inside. Feeling the subtle atmosphere in the room, a flicker of confusion passed through her eyes as she softly asked, “Yiyi, why are you standing?”

Bai Yiyi looked up, and Wen Ran immediately asked again, “Why is your face so red?”

“I, it’s nothing, maybe it’s because the air isn’t circulating well here. I’m going to step outside for some fresh air.”

As Bai Yiyi said this, she smiled at Wen Ran and left quickly.

Wen Ran blinked perplexedly, looking at Gu Kai seated on the sofa, “Brother, you didn’t bully Yiyi, did you?”

Just a few steps out, Bai Yiyi heard Wen Ran’s words, paused her footsteps, then hastened out of the living room. The autumn night was cool as water.

The burning on Bai Yiyi’s face eased in the cool night, and she breathed out deeply, raising the hand that just misbehaved and hit it hard, “Serve you right for being a perv.”

“Yiyi, what perversion did your hand commit that you’re so angry you’re hitting it?”

Behind her, Wen Ran chased out of the living room and heard Bai Yiyi cursing her hand and even hitting it, and she couldn’t help but laugh.
