Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1218: 1217 You are quite scheming

Bai Yuqin shook her head, she didn’t care about those things, she only cared about Tongtong and her happiness.

Bai Yiyi pursed her lips, thinking before saying, “Mom, I can move there, but I can’t live there for free. You also said Ah Kai is Tongtong’s dad, so he only has responsibilities towards Tongtong.”

“Wait a moment.”

After speaking, Bai Yuqin turned and entered the room.

Two minutes later, Bai Yuqin came out with several passbooks and placed them on the table in front of Bai Yiyi, “This is all our savings, Yiyi, use them however you wish.”

“President Wen, I want to request an advance payment of my salary.”

In the afternoon, while delivering documents to Wen Jin, Bai Yiyi hesitantly asked.

Wen Jin was signing documents, and upon hearing Bai Yiyi’s words, stopped her movements and looked up with concern, “Yiy, what happened?”

Bai Yiyi forced a smile and said, “A couple of days ago, wasn’t there news online about Ah Kai hitting someone? The reporters cornered him at the hospital. He was worried the reporters would dig up Tongtong’s background, so he had us temporarily stay one night at his villa in the suburbs.”

“Hmm, and then?”

Wen Jin eyes flashed with realization and she asked with a smile.

“This morning, my mom rented our original house to two girls from out of town and even signed a one-year lease behind my back. I originally planned to buy another house, but my mom really wanted to live in the suburbs, saying that way, Tongtong could play with Momo and others, so she wouldn’t be lonely.”

Bai Yiyi tried to explain the situation as simply as possible.

Hearing this, Wen Jin mostly understood Bai Yiyi’s intentions and took over the conversation, “Do you want to rent Ah Kai’s house or plan to buy it?”

“I want to buy it on installment.”

Her mother had some savings, which were the alimony Fu Jingyi had been giving their mother and daughter for so many years.

She had also saved a bit from working for a few years, but purchasing Ah Kai’s villa was almost impossible.

After much consideration, she felt they could buy just one floor; that would be sufficient for them to live in.

“How much do you plan to advance?” Wen Jin asked with a smile.

“One year’s worth.”

Bai Yiyi thought for a moment and answered.

“Okay, I’ll talk to the accounting department in a moment, and they’ll give it to you before you leave work.”

Wen Jin immediately agreed without hesitation, and Bai Yiyi happily thanked her, “President Wen, thank you so much, you’re too kind.”

“No need to thank me, advancing your salary is just to encourage you to work even harder,” Wen Jin explained with a smile.

Bai Yiyi cheekily said, “Boss, don’t worry, I’ll definitely work even harder in the future.”

Wen Jin chuckled lightly, bowed her head, and signed off on the documents in her hand, handing them to her. Before leaving, Bai Yiyi deeply bowed to him again.

After Bai Yiyi left the office, Wen Jin picked up the cup of water on the table, took a sip, put down the cup, and leisurely dialed Ah Kai’s number on her phone.

“Hello, Ah Kai.”

The phone rang a few times before Ah Kai answered.

Wen Jin leaned back in her chair, stretched her legs, and asked lazily, “Ah Kai, are you planning to hide her away in a golden house?”

“What golden house? Don’t say it so crudely, did Bai Yiyi tell you?”

This matter was known only to Mo Xiuchen and Ranran; even Wen Jin wasn’t aware. No, not even his father knew.

Wen Jin chuckled twice before saying, “Yiyi just asked me for an advance on her annual salary, intending to buy your villa, Ah Kai, you’re quite scheming, huh?”

“You agreed to her salary advance?”

Ah Kai’s voice carried a hint of gloom, transmitted through the radio waves. That woman, Bai Yiyi, she really could be troublesome.

Wen Jin laughed and replied, “Of course, Yiyi has strong work capabilities. With such an excellent subordinate like her, of course, I want to help her out. But what about you, what’s your intention in doing this, for Tongtong or for Yiyi?”

“Of course, it’s for Tongtong.”

Gu Kai replied without hesitation.

Hearing this, Wen Jin felt that Gu Kai’s words seemed like a cover-up.

“Ah Kai, if it’s for Tongtong, there’s no need to make such a fuss and have Yiyi and her mom move into the villa. If it’s for Yiyi, why not just confess your feelings? This way, it’s more likely to cause her misunderstandings.”

“Confess what? I did it for Tongtong. The neighborhood they lived in before wasn’t very safe, and Tongtong felt too lonely there. This place is closer to Ranran’s house, and Tongtong can play with the three little babies at Ranran’s house.”

“Yiyi wants to buy your villa probably because she doesn’t want people to misunderstand her. She is a strong and independent woman; don’t make it difficult for her.”

Wen Jin hesitated, then softly advised.

“Ah Jin, do you like Bai Yiyi? Why are you so nice to her?”

Hearing Wen Jin’s advice, Gu Kai felt somewhat annoyed.

Wen Jin just smiled and didn’t explain, “I have other things to handle, I’ll hang up now.”

Bai Yiyi received her advanced salary.

After work, she called Gu Kai, who told her he was on duty tonight.

That night, Bai Yiyi and Bai Yuqin stayed in the villa with Tongtong, as they had rented out their own house and moved all their belongings here.

**

For several days, Gu Kai was busy.

Every time Bai Yiyi called him, he said he had no time.

On the weekend, Bai Yiyi took Tongtong to visit Wen Ran’s home.

The kids were rolling on the large lawn in the yard while Wen Ran and Bai Yiyi sat at a small round table nearby, eating snacks and chatting.

“Yiyi, why isn’t Mo Xiuchen at home to keep you company today?”

Bai Yiyi curiously asked. Mo Xiuchen was famously a good man, always accompanying Wen Ran whenever he was free.

Wen Ran’s face beamed with a bright smile, her tone light, “Xiuchen has a social engagement today. How have you and Aunt Bai been settling in here?”

As she finished speaking, her phone rang.

Yiyi’s eyes twinkled as she teased, “Is it Mo Xiuchen calling again?”

“No, it’s Fang Zhiwei.”

Wen Ran took out her phone, saw the caller ID, a trace of surprise flashed in her eyes before she pressed the answer button, “Hello, Sister Wei.”

“Ranran, are you busy right now? I have something to tell you.”

“Not busy, Sister Wei, what is it? Go ahead,” Wen Ran blinked and asked gently.

Bai Yiyi stood up to help Tongtong and Momo pick up a ball.

“Ball.”

Momo was chasing a rubber ball with Tongtong, and when they saw Bai Yiyi pick it up, both looked at her expectantly.

Bai Yiyi chuckled softly, walked up, and handed the rubber ball to Momo, and told Tongtong, “Tongtong, you are the older sister, you should let your younger sister have it sometimes.”

“Okay.”

Tongtong’s eyes shifted from hopeful to a brilliant smile, while Momo hugged the ball happily and called her “Sister.”

“Here you go, little sister.”

In her joy, Tongtong quickly ran over to Ziyi, grabbed the gun he had dropped, and ran off.

“Sister.”

Momo looked at the gun, then at the ball in her hands, and finally handed the ball to Tongtong, keeping the gun for herself…

Nearby, after Wen Ran finished her call, she motioned for Bai Yiyi to come over. Bai Yiyi returned to the table and saw Wen Ran’s expression was a bit off, and asked with concern, “Ranran, what’s wrong?”
