Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1213: 1212 is not about eating gunpowder, it’s about wanting to eat you up

Bai Yiyi struggled to hold it in, not letting herself laugh out loud, afraid of hurting Fang Zhiwei.

But there was an undeniable joy in her voice: “Sister Wei, thank you for the reminder, I will try my best not to meet with Gu Kai, to avoid being caught by those gossiping reporters and stirring up more trouble.”

“Indeed, no matter how careful you are, if those reporters are determined, they could still snap a photo. My main concern is for Tongtong to avoid any repercussions, not meeting is the best way to protect her.”

Fang Zhiwei explained her good intentions.

Bai Yiyi hummed in response, pursed her lips, and said softly: “Sister Wei, I’ve got an incoming call, I’ll stop chatting with you for now.”

“Alright, bye.”

After hanging up the phone, Bai Yiyi thought for a moment and then dialed her mother’s number.

“Yiyi, why are you calling at this time? Is something the matter?”

After a few rings, Bai Yuqin’s voice came through.

Bai Yiyi stood up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, asking gently, “Mom, where are you right now?”

“At home. I just went to the market with Tongtong to buy the fish she likes to eat. What’s up?”

Along with Bai Yuqin’s voice, there was also the childish voice of Tongtong. Bai Yiyi organized her thoughts before giving a simple explanation: “Last night, Gu Kai got into a fight at the restaurant, and it was caught on camera and posted online. Today, the news about his breakup with Fang Zhiwei came out, and I’m worried those reporters will dig up Tongtong’s background.”

“Yiyi, Ah Kai has already called and told me, he said someone will come to pick me and Tongtong up soon, and we’ll stay at his house for the next few days. I’ve agreed.”

“What?”

Bai Yiyi exclaimed in shock, raising her voice.

“Yiyi, why are you so surprised? Ah Kai is doing this to protect Tongtong, and as her grandmother, of course, I need to cooperate actively,” Bai Yuqin argued confidently, leaving Bai Yiyi not sure whether to laugh or cry.

“Mom, there’s no need to be so dramatic. Those reporters might not even dig up anything about Tongtong. You don’t have to go stay at Gu Kai’s house. If worse comes to worst, just take Tongtong back to our previous city to live for a while, or go on a vacation for a few days.”

“Yiyi, let me correct you, it’s not just me and Tongtong, it’s also you. I’ve agreed to Ah Kai that we’ll all move to his house to stay for a few days, and we’ll move back after this blows over. So, you just head to Gu Kai’s house after you finish work this afternoon.”

Bai Yuqin laughed on the other end of the phone, not seeming to think there was anything wrong with the situation, “Tongtong likes being with Gu Kai, and Yiyi, as her mother, you shouldn’t be too selfish and deprive them of the opportunity to spend time together as father and daughter.”

Bai Yiyi looked up to the heavens, speechless, feeling like she dialed the wrong number.

How did it turn into this?

She cursed Gu Kai, that bastard, in her heart, hoping to persuade her mother, but then her mother said someone was ringing the doorbell and hung up on her.

Bai Yiyi stared at the disconnected call, her brows tightly furrowed, her face showing a layer of anger.

Gu Kai, that bastard!

Her mother was too casual, agreeing so easily to move into Gu Kai’s house. Bai Yiyi couldn’t understand how her mother could agree to such a thing.

Even with Tongtong, they shouldn’t move to the Gu family’s place.

No, she absolutely couldn’t agree.

Bai Yiyi returned to her desk and dialed Gu Kai’s number in anger, really angry, her breathing even a bit unsteady.

The phone rang twice before Gu Kai answered it. Before he could speak, Bai Yiyi barraged him with questions, “Gu Kai, why did you tell my mom without my consent to take Tongtong and move into the Gu Family’s house?”

“I’ve been busy just now and was about to call you when you called first. Bai Yiyi, did you eat gunpowder or something?”

“I didn’t eat gunpowder; I’m about to eat you alive!”

Bai Yiyi said through gritted teeth, “Listen to me, I won’t let my mom and Tongtong move into your house. That’s the scandal you caused yourself; resolve it yourself without dragging Tongtong into it.”

“What scandal, Bai Yiyi, are you referring to yourself? You and I just had an accidental one-night stand.”

On the other end of the line, Gu Kai’s voice came with a hint of mockery.

Bai Yiyi grew even angrier, flames of fury darting through her mind, “Gu Kai, don’t play dumb with me. I am referring to what happened last night, your affair with Fang Zhiwei. I heard the journalists already know you two broke up. I’m telling you, if you dare involve Tongtong in this, I won’t let you off the hook.”

“How did you find out?”

Gu Kai’s voice deepened, and through the phone, Bai Yiyi could imagine him with a cold expression on his face.

She snorted, “Never mind how I know. Right now, what the journalists want to know most is why you and Fang Zhiwei broke up and whether there’s a third party involved. You should know that in such a scenario, if they learn about Tongtong’s existence, they will say all sorts of nasty things.”

“That’s exactly why I suggested Aunt Bai and Tongtong move out temporarily. If the journalists find out about your relationship with me, they’ll definitely besiege Aunt Bai and Tongtong at Ranran’s house. If they move out, they can’t be found.”

Gu Kai spoke nonchalantly, but Bai Yiyi’s anger intensified, “Gu Kai, can you not be so ridiculous, making my mom move into your house, what’s that supposed to mean?”

“I know what you’re worried about, rest assured, it’s not my house. It’s a villa I bought a while ago near Mo Xiuchen’s house. Aunt Bai can take Tongtong there; it would allow Tongtong to play with the three kids at Ranran’s house.”

Possibly seeing Bai Yiyi really freaking out, Gu Kai finally offered an explanation.

When he made this decision, he also thought that the exposure of last night’s video and the news of his breakup with Fang Zhiwei wasn’t entirely bad.

On the contrary, it has given him more time to spend with Tongtong, Gu Kai thinks, this is turning misfortune into a blessing.

Bai Yiyi was stunned by his words, “You have a property in the suburbs, and it’s close to Ranran’s house?”

“Yeah, what’s so strange about me owning several properties? There’s also a housekeeper there, usually helping Aunt Bai take care of Tongtong. By the way, if you want, you can move in too.”

Gu Kai said this as if it were no big deal.

He was secretly laughing in his heart; he knew very well that once Bai Yuqin and Tongtong moved away, Bai Yiyi would not continue to live there; she would definitely miss Tongtong.

“I won’t move. Gu Kai, did you just buy it in the last couple of days? You have so many properties; why did you still need to look at houses that day?”

Bai Yiyi was a bit dizzy.

“Just because I own several houses, doesn’t mean I can’t buy more. Money is earned to be spent, what’s wrong with buying a house for my daughter?”

“Forget it, I can’t be bothered to argue with you…”

“I also have things to do. If you have any other questions, wait until I’m off work this afternoon, and I’ll pick you up to talk then.”

Gu Kai didn’t know if he really had other matters or if it was just an excuse. He cut Bai Yiyi off and, without waiting for her to speak again, hung up the phone.

“Damn it!”

Bai Yiyi glared at the disconnected call, grinding her teeth.
