Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1217: 1216 Don’t Falsely Accuse

When Bai Yiyi arrived at Kangning Hospital, it was already one o’clock in the afternoon.

She parked her car, then dashed straight into the hospital, took the elevator up, and arrived at the cardiology department.

Bai Yiyi was so furious that she didn’t even knock on the door, barging right into Gu Kai’s Office, “Gu Kai, you…”

Her words stopped abruptly as soon as her eyes landed on the two people in the office, her pupils dilating in shock at the scene before her.

Seated on the sofa was not only Gu Kai but also a young girl.

From Bai Yiyi’s point of view, their posture was somewhat suggestive. Gu Kai leaned lazily on the sofa, his tall frame slightly tilted, with one arm resting on the back of the sofa, and the girl sitting beside him.

Her hand rested on the buttons of her blouse, her eyes looking at Gu Kai.

Interrupted by Bai Yiyi, it was unclear what they were doing or what they were about to do.

Gu Kai stood up from the sofa, his eyes casting a calm look towards Bai Yiyi at the door, “Why are you here?”

“Doctor Gu, you guys continue, I’ll go check on the ward.”

The girl also stood up, glanced at Fang Zhiwei, and gave Gu Kai a polite smile before picking up the patient file on the coffee table and leaving the office.

Bai Yiyi stood at the door, and when the girl passed by her, she nodded with a smile.

“Come in and close the door if there’s something to talk about.”

Gu Kai’s gaze swept over Bai Yiyi before he got up to pour her some water.

Bai Yiyi closed the door, walked into the office, and said to Gu Kai, who was getting water from the dispenser: “I didn’t know anyone else was here; I didn’t mean to disturb you.”

“What nonsense are you talking about?”

Gu Kai abruptly turned around, his gaze intense as he looked at Bai Yiyi, seemingly angered by her comment about interrupting him.

Bai Yiyi sat down in front of the sofa without being intimidated by his anger: “I’m not talking nonsense. The girl is quite pretty. It looks like you don’t need my encouragement.”

Gu Kai brought the glass of water to her with a gloomy face, placing it heavily on the coffee table in front of her, towering over her as he looked down and said word by word: “Bai Yiyi, listen carefully, that person just now is an intern who just reported to our hospital. I was discussing a patient’s situation with her.”

Bai Yiyi didn’t like to look up at him while talking; the pressure was too great.

She frowned and said coldly, “It’s none of my business. Sit down. I don’t like talking to someone who’s standing.”

Gu Kai turned and sat down behind his own desk.

Bai Yiyi initially thought he was going to pour her water, but he just sat down at his desk and picked up a medical file to study, ignoring her.

Her face changed, and she stood up abruptly, walking swiftly to his desk, leaning over it with both hands, and asked angrily: “Why did you encourage my mom to rent out our house?”

Gu Kai chuckled, leaned forward with his arms crossed under his chin, and looked at Bai Yiyi with a smile. “Don’t just accuse me. Your house was rented because Aunt Bai wanted to, she thought it was a waste to leave it empty, not because I egged her on.”

“Do you think I would believe you, Gu Kai? You are just a scoundrel. I now suspect that the video that night was posted online by you, and then you used the excuse of a reporter to have Tongtong move into the villa you bought.”

Bai Yiyi looked at Gu Kai’s smug smile, and her anger surged.

“Believe it or not, that’s up to you. I’ve been in the operating room since this morning, and when Aunt Bai called me, I had just come out of the OR. If you don’t believe me, you can ask the patients in the ward.”

Gu Kai spread his hands in a gesture of indifference, then looked back down at the patient file.

“Gu Kai, don’t think that by acting this way, we’re going to stay in your villa. I’m going back right now to terminate the lease; things won’t go your way.”

After saying this, Bai Yiyi turned and left.

Gu Kai did not stop Bai Yiyi, she had stormed in, and left in a huff.

In the office, it had only been a few minutes, listening to the sound of the door being slammed, Gu Kai’s brows knitted together.

Returning home, Bai Yiyi finally understood when she saw the contract, why Gu Kai had not called after her when she left the hospital.

Without guessing, she was sure that the penalty for breaching the contract was set by Gu Kai.

Moreover, this rental agreement was for a one-year contract.

“Yiyi, if you breach the contract now, we’ll have to pay a high penalty fee.”

Bai Yuqin looked somewhat guilty as she faced her daughter with a cold expression, knowing her daughter’s temperament, but for the sake of her happiness, she had to push her.

Before, Bai Yuqin thought Li En was good, devoted to Bai Yiyi, but Yiyi did not like him, and now, Li En had…

Although Gu Kai did not like Bai Yiyi as much as Li En did, there was Tongtong between them, which was incomparable to anyone else.

If Yiyi could be with Gu Kai, Bai Yuqin believed that he would definitely make Yiyi happy, believing it because of his willingness to work with her on these matters.

Bai Yiyi pursed her lips tightly, her eyes cold and clear.

“Mommy.”

Beside her, the tender voice of Tongtong rang out, Bai Yiyi turned her head to see Tongtong staring intently at her, she quickly moderated her emotions showing a tender smile, placed the contract on the table, and lifted Tongtong onto her lap.

“Yiyi, I think living in the suburbs is quite nice; it’s close to Wen Ran’s Home, and Tongtong could play with their three kids, not feeling lonely anymore.”

Bai Yuqin gently persuaded at her side.

Bai Yiyi pursed her lips, Tongtong in her arms understood their conversation, immediately smiled and said, “Brother, sister.”

“Do you like playing with your brother and sister, Tongtong?”

Because of Tongtong’s words, Bai Yiyi’s heart immediately softened.

“Like.”

Tongtong’s tender voice was like a gentle hand caressing her heart, not only making it soft but also easily extinguishing the anger within her.

She couldn’t help but kiss Tongtong on the face again, smiling and saying, “Alright then, I’ll let you play with your brother and sister every day.”

“Yiyi, you agree?”

Bai Yuqin’s face showed a happy smile, her voice becoming cheerful.

Bai Yiyi looked up at her mother, calmly asking, “Mom, how much savings do we have left?”

“Why do you ask that?”

Bai Yuqin’s smile froze, looking puzzled at her daughter.

Bai Yiyi’s gaze swept over the contract on the table, sighed softly, and said, “You’ve rented our house out, we cannot just move into Gu Kai’s villa like this, Mom, I don’t want people to think I am being kept by a man.”

“Yiyi, how could you think that way, Gu Kai is Tongtong’s father, it’s only right for him to give Tongtong a house, just live there.”

“Mom—”

Bai Yiyi drew out the sound, patiently making her point, “It’s a villa, do you know how much it would cost according to G City’s housing prices?”
