Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1242: 1241 Because last night, you slept in

Qin Mu’s thin lips were pressed into a cold, resolute line.

His sculpted facial features hugged an aura of sternness, and the strong masculine presence enveloped An Lin in front of him.

The large hand gripping her wrist showed no signs of loosening.

He disregarded An Lin’s words as if they were just wind past his ears.

Thus, they were at an impasse.

The atmosphere turned icy, and for a moment, time seemed to freeze.

An Lin’s eyes, staring at Qin Mu, were filled with annoyance.

Compared to the storm in her eyes, the look in Qin Mu’s eyes was icy and piercing.

“An Lin, I will try my best to like you,” Qin Mu eventually broke the silence. On hearing his words, An Lin suddenly felt a pang in her nose and her eyes moistened.

She averted her eyes, refusing to look at Qin Mu or let him see her eyes.

Her lips tightly pressed together, she struggled to control her emotions.

Had it been before, such words from Qin Mu would have moved her to tears, but now, they only brought bitterness and endless sorrow.

She took a deep breath, shook her head, and said stubbornly, “If it were yesterday, the day before, or anytime earlier, I would have been moved and agreed. But now, Ah Mu, I will not accept.”

“An Lin, can you please not be so stubborn?”

Qin Mu suppressed the anger in his heart. This morning when he woke up and found An Lin sleeping next to him, he was completely stunned.

It took him a full minute before memories of last night flooded back to him.

He recalled that Miss Gao had invited him to dinner because An Lin was having dinner with her coworkers, and he didn’t want to go, so he agreed to Miss Gao’s invitation.

Little did he know, Miss Gao was not alone; her aunt was there too.

During the meal and conversation, Miss Gao learned that he had many books at home and expressed her desire to borrow a couple. Qin Mu found it hard to refuse and thinking it was just about borrowing books, he took her back to his apartment.

Little did he know, while he went to fetch the books, that woman named Gao drugged his drink. At his own home, he was unprepared, and within two minutes of consuming the drug, he felt sick.

The dosage was heavy.

Miss Gao intended to take advantage of his confused state to consummate their relationship and then marry him.

How could Qin Mu fall for that? Annoyed, he pushed Miss Gao out the door, but it was precisely at this moment that An Lin arrived.

“We’ll talk about this tomorrow.”

Qin Mu’s tone was harsh, his face unnaturally flushed, his eyebrows furrowed, unable to hide his discomfort.

Seeing him like this, An Lin immediately asked with concern, “Ah Mu, what’s wrong with you? Are you feeling unwell?”

“He is…”

Miss Gao tried to speak but was sharply rebuked by Qin Mu, “Get lost.”

Miss Gao’s face turned pale from the lack of face, and when An Lin heard this, and glanced from Qin Mu to Miss Gao, suspicion arose in her mind, “What happened to Ah Mu?”

“He might have a fever.”

Miss Gao pursed her lips, and under Qin Mu’s stern gaze, she added, “I’ll leave first, you take care of him,” and then dashed into the elevator.

“Ah Mu, let me in.”

Hearing that Qin Mu was sick with a fever, which matched his currently flushed face, An Lin forced her way in as Qin Mu was closing the door.

“I’m fine, you go.”

By accident, Qin Mu’s hand brushed against An Lin’s hand, the soft cool touch sending a shiver through his body.

The pain that seemed to be burning in his heart momentarily eased.

He stared at An Lin, yet his eyebrows knotted even tighter.

“Ah Mu, your hand is burning hot. Don’t you have medicine at home? Sit on the sofa and wait, I’ll get the medicine for you.”

“An Lin, go back, I can take the medicine myself.”

Qin Mu initially wanted to stop An Lin from entering, however, he reached out his hand halfway and thinking of something, he immediately retracted it, his tall frame frozen in place due to the searing heat inside him.

An Lin quickly found the cold medicine, poured some water, and as Qin Mu was about to go back to his room, she called out, with one hand holding the medicine and the other carrying the water, and chased him to the bedroom door, “Ah Mu, take the medicine first.”

Qin Mu waved his hand, knocking the water cup from An Lin’s hand, “Leave my house immediately.”

His attitude was quite hostile. After speaking, he pushed An Lin out the door and then went inside and closed the door…

The memories that followed were a bit chaotic for Qin Mu, not very clear.

He raised his hand to press on his temples. Last night, the dosage Miss Gao gave him was too heavy, although he had strong self-control, later, when An Lin entered his room, somehow, he just…

Thinking of this, he felt another surge of guilt.

**

An Lin sneered, her eyes full of indifference, “I am stubborn, perhaps, you not only think I’m stubborn, but also pretentious. Qin Mu, I, An Lin, did like you, but that was before. From the moment I decided to get married, I stopped liking you.”

Qin Mu’s face darkened, and fury seethed in his eyes.

“If you keep this up, I’ll call my aunt and uncle and tell them about last night with you…”

“You can’t do that.”

An Lin’s complexion changed drastically.

Qin Mu was resolved to keep her and take responsibility, “An Lin, you’ve only known that man for a week, it’s impossible for you to like him so quickly. I know, you’re getting married to forget me.”

“Then please let go.”

Tears brimmed in An Lin’s eyes, even when her confession was rejected, she hadn’t cried in front of Qin Mu.

But at this moment, she felt inexplicably wronged.

When she loved him, he coldly pushed her away, and now as she tried to leave, he wanted her to stay.

“I’ve said I won’t let go. Now I give you two choices. First, I’ll call aunt and uncle about our relationship, go get the marriage certificate. Second, you call that man and break up, and we start dating.”

“Qin Mu, why should I agree to you.”

“Because last night, you slept in my bed, you don’t want me to take responsibility, then shall I ask you to step up instead?”

Qin Mu saw the tears in An Lin’s eyes; a flicker of emotion crossed his gaze, his tone slightly softer.

An Lin breathed heavily, glaring hatefully at Qin Mu, who was holding onto her with one hand and pulling out his phone with the other.

“Fine, I’ll call and break up.”

An Lin interrupted just before Qin Mu dialed the number.

Qin Mu’s eyes flickered, he put his phone back in his pocket, took her by the hand, and started walking towards the apartment, saying, “Let’s go back to my place first, then you make the call.”

“Let me go first, I was still on the phone with Ranran.”

An Lin had been on a call with Wen Ran that Qin Mu had interrupted by grabbing her and stopping her from leaving.

Her words caused Qin Mu’s tall frame to stiffen abruptly.

His handsome features, as if coated in frost, turned sharply cold.

An Lin’s gaze darkened, she lowered her head, pretending not to notice the change in Qin Mu’s expression, and looked at her phone screen only to find out that the call had been disconnected at some point.
