Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1235: 1234 Mrs. Gu

Yiyi went straight to bed after taking a bath.

She didn’t intend to check the next room to see if Tongtong was asleep because that kiss in the car tonight had left her feeling somewhat irritable.

She didn’t want to see Gu Kai at all.

But that bastard Gu Kai seemed unwilling to let her go. Before she could fall asleep, there was a knock on the door, and Gu Kai’s voice came through, low and magnetic, adding a trace of unsettling charm in the quiet deep night.

Yiyi’s heart skipped a beat, she frowned, got out of bed, walked to the door, and asked through the door, “What is it?”

“Are you asleep?”

Up close, Gu Kai’s voice became clearer, entering her ears, almost carrying his masculine scent, making her voice turn cold, “I am already asleep, just put Tongtong to sleep and leave on your own.”

“If you are asleep, how can you still talk, Yiyi? Are you saying you’re sleep-talking now?”

Initially, Yiyi thought Gu Kai would be annoyed by her poor attitude, but unexpectedly, that nutcase actually started laughing outside the door.

“Yes, I am sleep-talking, if you don’t have anything else, then please leave right away.”

Yiyi suppressed her emotions, and inexplicably wanted to lash out at him.

Outside, there was a moment of silence.

After a while, Gu Kai’s voice came somewhat somberly, “The rental contract is at the hospital; come find me there tomorrow.” After that, she heard his departing footsteps.

***

Yiyi took Gu Kai’s words as if it was nothing significant and didn’t plan to go to the hospital to find him.

Even if he did not visit Tongtong every day, he would go every three to five days; she planned to wait for him to bring the contract to her for signing.

Unexpectedly, that detestable man, Gu Kai, had actually called Wen Jin.

At ten fifty in the morning, Wen Jin summoned Yiyi to his office via the intercom.

“President Wen!”

Yiyi brought some documents that needed signing, walked into the office, politely greeted, and placed the documents on his desk.

Wen Jin said with a smile, “Yiyi, you will deliver these medicines to Kangning Hospital to Ah Kai.”

“Ah?”

Yiyi’s eyes flickered with surprise, and she looked down at the bag on the desk.

Wen Jin smiled gently, “Ah Kai just called, said he needed these medicines, and also mentioned that you should go to the hospital to sign the rental contract with him. It’s almost the end of the day, so you should head there.”

“Did he tell you about this?”

Yiyi frowned. Was Gu Kai trying to make everyone aware?

“Yes, he just mentioned it. Ah Kai said you have paid ten years of rent, Yiyi, that’s not a small amount of money. What if he doesn’t acknowledge the contract if you don’t go?”

Wen Jin’s tone was teasing. Gu Kai, that guy, was always too proud and loved to suffer.

As brothers, Wen Jin of course wanted to create more opportunities for them. He wouldn’t believe for a second that Gu Kai didn’t have any feelings for Yiyi, but Gu Kai was just not letting go of his reservations.

Time is the best healer, he believed that one day, Ah Kai would be able to open up.

“Would he really not acknowledge it?”

Yiyi was a bit skeptical. Although she didn’t think highly of Gu Kai, she didn’t believe he could be such a scoundrel as to deny the contract, especially since he wasn’t short of money.

“He would.”

Wen Jin’s smile faded, and he nodded seriously, “Ah Kai is used to being proud and admired by many women, except you always find him disagreeable. If he really makes a mess of things, no one can predict. Yiyi, you better hurry. Ah Kai has surgery in the afternoon and will only have time during lunch.”

Yiyi hesitated, then said reluctantly, “Alright, I’ll go now.”

***

Yiyi arrived at Kangning Hospital at exactly eleven o’clock.

After parking her car, she carried a bag of medicine and walked to the hospital entrance, coincidentally meeting Miss Wei, who was going out for lunch.

“Miss Bai, hello.”

Miss Wei’s eyes lit up upon seeing Yiyi, inexplicably excited as if she had seen a handsome guy.

Yiyi returned a faint smile, “Hello, Miss Wei.”

“Miss Bai, don’t be so formal, call me Xiaowei or Jingshan, everyone does. By the way, are you here to find Doctor Gu?”

“I’m delivering medicine for him.”

Yiyi lifted the bag in her hand briefly.

She did not want Miss Wei to gossip again. Miss Wei looked down at the bag in her hands and warmly said, “Miss Bai, let me take you to Doctor Gu, he just went to the lab, let’s go.”

Miss Wei stretched out her hand to link arms with Yiyi, acting as if they were close sisters.

Yiyi slightly furrowed her brows, instinctively avoiding the hand stretched towards her, “I’m not used to being close with people.”

“Ah, I was too presumptuous. Miss Bai, let’s go.”

Miss Wei’s smile only stiffened for a moment before quickly returning to its radiant state.

Seeing her enthusiasm, Yiyi thought to herself that this girl might really have feelings for Gu Kai, as Zhi Wei mentioned.

But she was here to sign a rental contract and didn’t want anyone, especially this gossip, to know about her relationship with Gu Kai.

“There’s no need, Miss Wei, I can find him myself.”

“It’s no bother, Miss Bai, come on.”

Miss Wei had already turned and entered the hospital lobby, heading towards the elevator. Yiyi hesitated momentarily, then followed her into the lobby.

It took a minute of waiting for the elevator. When the doors opened, the person who came out was also someone Yiyi knew.

“Miss Bai, oh, no, I should say Mrs. Gu, are you here to see Doctor Gu?” Qian Songnan smiled ingratiatingly, seemingly unfazed even though Yiyi had declined his invitation.

Yiyi’s expression changed slightly upon hearing this title.

Qian Songnan’s face was full of smiles, “Thank you, Mrs. Gu, if it weren’t for your help, my son’s surgery wouldn’t have been scheduled so soon…”

“General Qian, I have other matters, we can talk next time.”

Yiyi interrupted Qian Songnan, noticing the surprised looks from people around her, including Miss Wei. She frowned slightly and stepped into the elevator.

After coming out of the elevator, Miss Wei asked in surprise, “Miss Bai, so you’re married to Doctor Gu?”

Yiyi smiled awkwardly, momentarily unsure whether to deny it or let her misunderstand.

Just then, the doors of another elevator opened, and Gu Kai’s tall, upright figure emerged.

“Did you bring the medicine?”

Gu Kai’s voice came from beside her, and Yiyi looked up, meeting his deep, dark eyes.

“Doctor Gu, I ran into Miss Bai at the entrance, she said she was delivering medicine for you, so I brought her here. My task is done, I’m off, bye!”

After saying this, Miss Wei quickly slipped into the elevator before the doors closed.

Gu Kai glanced at the closing elevator doors, speaking in a calm voice, “Come to my office.”

Yiyi rolled her eyes and took the lead, walking in front of him. Despite this, Gu Kai, with his long legs, quickly caught up to her, walking alongside her without overtaking her.
