Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1191: 1190 Relieve a siege

Gu Kai rushed over when Tongtong had already fallen asleep.

The phone vibrated, Bai Yiyi got up, walked out of the room, and came to the living room before pressing the answer button: “Hello.”

“Open the door.”

Over the phone, Gu Kai’s voice came through, deep and concise.

A flash of surprise crossed Bai Yiyi’s eyes, she turned her head toward the door, and heard a light knocking sound.

Opening the door, sure enough, Gu Kai was standing outside, his large hand holding the phone still at his ear. Seeing her frowning, an unwelcoming expression on her face, his handsome face slightly darkened, he asked in a deep voice, “Where is Tongtong?”

“Shh, keep your voice down.” Bai Yiyi glared at him, placing her index finger vertically on her lips, lowering her voice, “Tongtong has already slept, so has my mom, so I won’t invite you in.”

Bai Yiyi was about to close the door after speaking.

“Hey, wait a second.” Gu Kai’s handsome face darkened, his hand holding the phone quickly pressed against the door, his gaze deep as he looked at her, “I want to check on Tongtong.”

With that, he pushed the door open forcefully, ignoring Bai Yiyi’s displeasure, and strutted in.

Bai Yiyi cursed him silently in her heart, glaring at him fiercely, and followed him into the room.

Gu Kai came to Tongtong’s bedside, looking at her sleeping adorably, his lips unconsciously curled up slightly, he bent over, reaching out to tuck her exposed little hand under the blanket.

Bai Yiyi yawned beside him, displeased, “You’ve seen Tongtong, can you leave now?”

“Bai Yiyi, you must change this impolite behavior, otherwise, it will negatively influence Tongtong in the future.” Gu Kai turned his head, his face suddenly stern, righteously accusing.

Bai Yiyi widened her eyes, “I’m impolite?”

This man must be sick, coming to her house in the middle of the night and then saying she’s impolite.

Gu Kai nodded, reached out, grabbing her finger pointing at her own nose, listing her offenses, “I already mentioned on the phone that I would come to pick up Tongtong. Even if Tongtong is asleep, you shouldn’t have just closed the door on me.”

“Gu Kai, are you insane? In the middle of the night, should I invite a man into my house? Then you would accuse me of seducing you, wouldn’t you?”

Bai Yiyi pulled her hand back, retorting sarcastically.

“First, I am Tongtong’s father, not some random guy; second, I am not interested in a skin-and-bones woman like you. You can rest assured, I won’t do anything. Even if you tried to seduce me, I wouldn’t fall for it.”

Bai Yiyi laughed out of anger, “Is that so? You wouldn’t fall for it? Then tell me, what happened that night?”

“That was an accident, I pitied you.” Gu Kai shrugged, his attitude suggesting that if it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t know where she’d end up, making Bai Yiyi’s laughter stop abruptly.

“I don’t want to discuss this with you, it’s already eleven o’clock, I want to sleep, you should leave now.”

Bai Yiyi stepped forward, directly pushing Gu Kai out of Tongtong’s room.

As Gu Kai was pushed to the door, Tongtong suddenly let out a “giggle” from the bed, the sound ethereal and pure, immediately making Gu Kai turn his head.

Bai Yiyi didn’t anticipate his sudden movement, unable to dodge, her forehead collided with Gu Kai’s warm, thin lips.

Bai Yiyi’s eyes widened in shock, as Gu Kai’s gaze, originally on the bed, shifted when a soft touch came between their lips, he lowered his head, and their eyes met.

Time, suddenly froze.

In their facing eyes, one shocked, one dark as ink.

Several seconds later, Bai Yiyi blushed and took two steps back.

Mo Xiuchen swept a glance at her forehead, the spot where he had just kissed, then looked at her blushing cheeks, unintentionally furrowing his brows,

“I’m going to sleep, remember to close the door when you leave.”

Bai Yiyi stiffly threw out a sentence and quickly walked out of Tongtong’s room, pushed open the door to her own room next door, entered, and with a bang, shut the door.

Staring at the closed door, Mo Xiuchen’s eyes deepened.

He turned around, looked at Tongtong sleeping soundly on the bed, the previous two laughs were just from her dreams, she laughed and then fell back asleep.

Pursing his lips, Mo Xiuchen closed the door, walked to the living room entrance, turned off the lights, closed the door and left.

**

In the following days, Mo Xiuchen was very busy; he had surgeries every day, from morning till night, even barely squeezing time to eat.

That morning, the drug control bureau came to Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory for a drug inspection.

Among those who came, there was Zhang Siming, who had a blind date with Bai Yiyi that day; seeing Bai Yiyi, joy flashed in his eyes, and he smiled at her happily.

Bai Yiyi led them to the workshop, and along the way, Zhang Siming walked up to Bai Yiyi, lowered his voice and said, “Miss Bai, are you free tonight? I would like to treat you to dinner.”

Bai Yiyi’s eyes flickered, and looking at Zhang Siming’s sincere smile, she apologetically shook her head, “Sorry, I have plans tonight.”

“Hehe, no worries. What about tomorrow? Or I could take you to a movie over the weekend.”

Zhang Siming was not discouraged, continuing to warmly invite Bai Yiyi.

“Miss Bai, if you don’t accept Siming’s invitation, he won’t be able to eat his lunch. Just agree to it.”

Walking behind, speaking with Wen Jin about the drugs, Deputy Bureau Wu heard the conversation between Zhang Siming and Bai Yiyi and laughed heartily, teasingly speaking.

Zhang Siming’s face showed a hint of embarrassment, but his smile was full of sincerity.

Bai Yiyi turned her head, her face wearing a professional smile, gracefully replying, “Deputy Bureau Wu, you really have a way with jokes.”

“I’m not joking; these past few days, Siming has mentioned Miss Bai more than once. Originally, he was supposed to go to a drugstore today, but when he heard I was coming to Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory, he insisted on coming.”

It was unclear what his relationship with Zhang Siming was, but from how he addressed Zhang Siming, it was evident that they had a special relationship.

Wen Jin looked at Zhang Siming nonchalantly, smiled, and said gently, “Yiyi has to accompany me to a charity gala tonight, she really doesn’t have time.”

Bai Yiyi gave Wen Jin a thankful look, Deputy Bureau Wu heard Wen Jin’s explanation and pretended to be enlightened, “I see, then Siming, just ask Miss Bai out over the weekend.”

“Deputy Bureau Wu, it’s really not a good time, after the gala tonight, Yiyi will accompany me on a business trip tomorrow morning, and we won’t be back by the weekend.”

Wen Jin said, and told Bai Yiyi: “If you’re not relieved to leave Tongtong with your aunt alone, send Tongtong to Xiu Chen’s house, let Ranran help look after her since Tongtong likes playing with Ranran’s house’s three little treasures.”

Bai Yiyi smiled and nodded, “That’s what I thought too, I’ll call Ranran this afternoon.”

“You don’t need to worry about it, I’ll call her. Ranran won’t refuse.”

Wen Jin spoke, her brows smiling as she looked at Bai Yiyi, seemingly treating Deputy Bureau Wu and Zhang Siming beside her as invisible.
