Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1154: 1153 Cultivating Father-Daughter Relationship

On the sofa in the living room on the first floor.

Gu Kai held Tongtong on his lap, while Zhi Wei sat beside him with a bowl of porridge prepared by Nanny Zhang, spoon-feeding Tongtong bite by bite.

Every two bites, she would gently wipe Tongtong’s mouth with a napkin, her eyebrows and corners of her eyes radiating tender maternal love. At that moment, aside from her, Gu Kai, and Tongtong, there was no one else on the sofa.

She had just carried Tongtong down, and Mo Xiuchen and Wen Jin, among others, had moved to the yard.

“Ah Kai, have you changed Tongtong’s surname yet?”

Zhi Wei softly wiped the corner of Tongtong’s mouth, seemingly asking casually.

Gu Kai’s eyes flickered, he shook his head and said indifferently, “Not yet, I’ve been too busy recently and haven’t had the time.”

Mentioning changing Tongtong’s name reminded him of the confrontation he had with Bai Yiyi yesterday — he had asked Bai Yiyi to wait for her at the hospital entrance last night, but that woman simply turned off her phone.

Zhi Wei smiled gently and said softly, “Actually, whether Tongtong changes her surname or not, she’s still your daughter. There’s no need for you to insist on her changing it, her current name sounds quite nice.”

“A Gu surname would sound even nicer.” Gu Kai frowned and retorted impulsively.

“Yes, yes, Gu does sound better. by the way, when are you taking time off?”

Zhi Wei’s smile grew even brighter, clearly trying to please Gu Kai, especially her three ‘yes’ which carried a hint of coquettish charm.

Gu Kai, without answering, asked, “Is there something you need?”

Zhi Wei fed another spoonful of porridge to Tongtong before explaining, “We’ve known each other for so long, yet we’ve never gone out to have fun together. I was thinking of picking a time when you’re off so we could go out of town for a couple of days.”

She said this while looking at Gu Kai with hopeful eyes.

Gu Kai pondered, “It might be difficult recently. My surgery schedule is packed, there’s an academic conference next week, and I have a business trip next month… If you want to go on a trip, you could join a tour group. I’ll introduce you to a reliable one.”

“Then never mind, it’s no fun going alone.”

Zhi Wei shrugged, her smile unchanged, but there was a trace of disappointment in her tone.

She pursed her lips and added, “I was thinking, we could take Tongtong with us. You could spend some time with her. Even though Tongtong is a girl, it’s not good for her to always be with her mother. As her father, you should take her out to have fun.”

“Take Tongtong?” Gu Kai looked surprised.

Tongtong was so young; what fun would there be in taking her out? To travel with Tongtong would be more enjoyable when she was a bit older.

“Yes, Ah Kai, have you never thought of taking Tongtong out for fun? When I was little, my dad took me out every weekend.”

“No, I just think Tongtong is too young. Taking her to the zoo or places like that is fine, but going on a trip isn’t convenient.”

Gu Kai spoke nonchalantly, but Zhi Wei’s eyes brightened, and she smiled, “How about this? Let’s take Tongtong to the marine park tomorrow. I’ll talk to Yiyi in a bit; she probably won’t mind.”

“She isn’t the only parent; why would she mind?”

Hearing this, Gu Kai immediately fell stern.

Zhi Wei looked at him in surprise, quickly explaining, “Ah Kai, don’t be always mad at Yiyi. I meant that she probably won’t mind, not that she would object. Don’t worry about it, I’ll talk to her later.”

“Okay.”

Gu Kai returned to his usual expression, seeing Tongtong push away the porridge Zhi Wei was offering, he shifted Tongtong to the side, “Tongtong is full, don’t feed her anymore.”

“Alright, no more food then, Tongtong, let’s wipe your mouth.”

Fang Zhiwei placed the porridge bowl on the coffee table, gently wiping Tongtong’s mouth.

Nanny Zhang came out of the kitchen at this moment and told Gu Kai that it was time for dinner.

Gu Kai stood up while holding Tongtong and said, “Zhi Wei, go upstairs and call Anlin down for dinner, I’ll go out to the yard and call Mo Xiuchen.”

“Tongtong…”

“I’ll hold Tongtong.” Gu Kai finished speaking and, holding Tongtong, quickly left the living room to call people in the yard.

Seeing Fang Zhiwei going upstairs alone, Bai Yiyi’s eyes sparkled with a hint of confusion, “Miss Fang, why are you going upstairs alone? Where’s Tongtong?”

Fang Zhiwei replied with a beaming smile, “Ah Kai is holding her. I’m here to call you guys down for dinner.”

“Ranran, just lie down and don’t move, I’ll bring your food downstairs.”

Bai Xiaoxiao, who had been crouching in front of the crib, immediately stood up upon hearing Fang Zhiwei mention dinner.

Wen Ran nodded, “Alright, that would be great, thank you.”

Although the three babies were all asleep, they were the type who wouldn’t sleep long and would soon wake up. If they all went downstairs for dinner, she was worried that the babies would wake up later. Mo Xiuchen had hired a nanny, but with so many people around today, they had asked the nanny to start work tomorrow.

“Yiyi, I have something I want to discuss with you.”

Meanwhile, Fang Zhiwei approached Bai Yiyi and spoke softly.

“What is it?” Bai Yiyi asked with a puzzled expression.

Li Qian and Zhou Lin greeted Wen Ran and, holding their children, left the room first. At this moment, in the master bedroom, there were still Anlin and Bai Xiaoxiao.

“It’s like this, Ah Kai and I want to take Tongtong to the Ocean Park tomorrow. Ah Kai was afraid you might disagree, so he asked me to discuss it with you.”

“Tomorrow?”

The first thing Bai Yiyi thought of was that Gu Kai had asked her to take a day off next Wednesday to change Tongtong’s surname. Didn’t he have no time tomorrow?

How had it been just one night, and now he had time to spend with his girlfriend?

It was his family’s business to spend time with his girlfriend, but why involve her daughter? Changing Tongtong’s surname was just a formality, not an invitation to live with them; there was no need to play the happy family of three and foster a relationship.

In front of her, Fang Zhiwei looked at her with a warm smile, “Yes, tomorrow. Because of Ah Kai’s special job, taking a day off is not easy. Yiyi, you don’t have plans tomorrow as well, do you?”

“Oh, no.”

“That’s great! Since you don’t have plans, Ah Kai and I can take Tongtong out to have fun, and you can take a day off as well. Don’t worry about the conditions Ah Kai mentioned earlier, you should date if you want to, and I will talk to him about it.”

The words Bai Yiyi wanted to use to refuse were stuck in her throat.

Fang Zhiwei was so eagerly looking forward to taking Tongtong out; if she refused, would she appear petty?

“Okay, let me know what time you’re leaving tomorrow, so I can get Tongtong up.”

Having said that, Bai Yiyi then turned to XiaoXiao and Anlin, who were watching the excitement, “You guys go ahead downstairs. I’ll stay here with Ranran. Xiaoxiao, quickly bring the food up for Ranran.”

“Ranran, I’ll be up shortly.”

Bai Xiaoxiao dropped this line and pulled Anlin downstairs.

Seeing Bai Yiyi staying behind, Fang Zhiwei gave a reminder to Wen Ran, then turned and left the bedroom to go eat downstairs.
