Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1165: 1164 Paying for one’s own mistakes

Ocean Park

Gu Kai was holding Tongtong and watching the sharks, while Fang Zhiwei was taking pictures of them with a camera. An Lin came over after answering a phone call, looking somewhat serious, “Ah Kai, Zhi Wei, I can’t continue to play with you, there’s an issue with the company in City C, I need to go back right now.”

Gu Kai’s eyes flashed with surprise, then he asked, “Have you booked your flight yet?”

“Yes, I just booked it.”

“Then let’s go together, Tongtong is also tired from playing, we can take you to the airport directly,” Gu Kai said, making the decision after glancing at Tongtong.

“I can take a taxi to the airport, you guys can play a bit more, didn’t Zhi Wei just mention going to the tunnel?”

An Lin didn’t want to dampen their spirits because of herself.

Especially Fang Zhiwei, who is Gu Kai’s girlfriend, and it was her suggestion to come to Ocean Park today.

“No worries, we can come again another time, let’s go, we’ll take you to the airport first.”

“Okay.” An Lin did not refuse again, and the three of them left Ocean Park together. On the way to the airport, Gu Kai drove while An Lin held Tongtong and sat in the back with Fang Zhiwei.

“Tongtong, here, drink some water.” In the car, Fang Zhiwei took out Tongtong’s water bottle; Tongtong had just had some formula milk before An Lin took the call, now she fed Tongtong water.

Tongtong took a sip and then refused to drink any more.

“An Lin, let me hold Tongtong, you’ll have to get off the car when we reach the airport.”

Seeing that Tongtong refused to drink more water, Fang Zhiwei put the water bottle back in the bag and reached out, wanting to hold Tongtong.

“Isn’t your arm injury still healing? Tongtong is quite heavy, what if holding her affects the healing or even causes the wound to split?” An Lin’s gaze moved to Fang Zhiwei’s arm.

“It’s alright.”

Fang Zhiwei hesitated briefly, then said nonchalantly.

“I’ll call Yiyi instead to see where she is.”

Upon saying this, An Lin put Tongtong between herself and Fang Zhiwei on the seat, while she dug out her mobile phone and said to Gu Kai, “Ah Kai, you should prepare a child seat, it would be more convenient for trips with Tongtong, at least in the car.”

“Um, that’s a good suggestion, I’ll keep that in mind.”

From the driver’s seat, Gu Kai focused on the road ahead, he didn’t turn around; he only glanced at them through the rearview mirror.

“An Lin, Yiyi said this morning she had things to do today, don’t call her. I’m only holding Tongtong in the car, letting her sit on my lap should be fine, it won’t affect the wound.”

Fang Zhiwei saw An Lin taking out her phone and hurriedly stopped her before she dialled.

To prove she wasn’t so fragile, she straightaway lifted Tongtong onto her lap: “See, it doesn’t affect anything at all.”

“An Lin, stop.”

Gu Kai spoke up, and An Lin put her phone back in her purse.

After dropping An Lin at the airport and on the way back, Gu Kai asked Fang Zhiwei to call Bai Yiyi and ask where she was.

Hearing that Bai Yiyi was at Mo Xiuchen’s house, they went straight to the Mo family.

When Gu Kai and Fang Zhiwei arrived, Bai Yiyi was already waiting at the door.

As the car stopped, Bai Yiyi came over, opened the car door, and when Tongtong saw her mother, she immediately yelled excitedly and flung her arms around her, jumping into her embrace.

“Tongtong told Mommy, did you listen to Aunt Fang’s words? Were you well-behaved?” Bai Yiyi held Tongtong, first kissed her face, and Tongtong also happily smacked Bai Yiyi’s face twice, kissing loudly.

Fang Zhiwei’s phone rang just then, and Gu Kai, sitting in the driver’s seat, said pleasurably, “Tongtong was very well-behaved, she was happy watching all those different fishes and didn’t cry.”

Bai Yiyi glanced at Gu Kai and then smiled warmly at Tongtong, “Tongtong is so well-behaved, there will be a reward later.”

Fang Zhiwei answered the call, had to leave, and Gu Kai’s car sped away.

Bai Yiyi brought Tongtong into the villa and let her play with Ziyi, Momo, and Xinxin. Tongtong seemed to enjoy playing with the three little babies very much. When it was time to go home at night, she was reluctant to leave.

**

Since Gu Kai took Tongtong out to play on Sunday, by Wednesday, his day off was gone. For a while, it seemed he was very busy. Bai Yiyi did not see him nor receive any calls from him about changing Tongtong’s surname.

She still went to work and came back every day, took Tongtong downstairs to play for a while, and accompanied her to sleep. Life was peaceful but happy.

Since that day she visited Li En once, Bai Yiyi had not gone to see him again.

She also did not pay attention to how his case was progressing. One night, during dinner, her mother Bai Yuqin mentioned that Li En was having a tough time in there.

“Yiyi, Little Li got hurt, find some time to visit him again.”

Bai Yuqin cared a lot for Li En because he was Fu Jingyi’s most proud student.

Even if Fu Jingyi had no feelings for her, she completely devoted herself to him.

But Bai Yiyi was particularly disgusted by this.

“I am not a doctor, going there won’t help his injuries.”

“Yiyi, can you talk to Wen Ran, ask them to stop treating Little Li like this? He deserves his punishment, but they are being too harsh…”

“Mom, you know what Li En’s character is like. It’s normal for him to get beaten up in prison for offending people. Why are you so sure it’s Wen Ran doing this? Even if it were Wen Ran, I have no place to say anything.”

Because the evidence was substantial and due to some special connections, Li En’s trial was unusually quick, and after sentencing, he was severely beaten.

“I understand, I just hope that Little Li can reform.”

Bai Yuqin’s face changed slightly, she said softly.

“Mom, if Li En wants to reform, getting beaten a few times won’t hinder his reform.”

Bai Yiyi served her mother some dishes, softening her tone to comfort her.

After a pause, she added, “Wen Ran is still in her confinement period, she doesn’t know about this. Mom, don’t inquire about Li En’s matters anymore. He’s an adult; he should pay for his own mistakes.”

She had seen with her own eyes how Wen Ran suffered helplessly and grievously due to Momo’s disappearance. Although she was friends with Li En, she didn’t feel there was anything wrong with Mo Xiuchen teaching Li En a lesson.

Li En was only suffering physical pain now, but the torment Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran endured because of Momo’s disappearance was as painful as having their hearts carved out.

Bai Yuqin just sighed, and did not ask Bai Yiyi to visit Li En again or persuade Wen Ran to forgive Li En.

Bai Yiyi’s phone rang, she finished the last bite of rice in her bowl, put down her chopsticks, and said, “Mom, I’ll go back to my room.”

She then stood up, left the dining table, and pulled out her phone to check the caller ID as she walked to her room. Seeing the name displayed, she frowned slightly, went into the room, closed the door, and then answered the call with a cool tone, “Hello!”

“Friday is my day off, you apply for the morning off and go change Tongtong’s surname.”

Whispering into her ear was Gu Kai’s deep voice.
