Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1183: 1182 Accompanying on a blind date

In the morning, at 9:50.

Bai Yiyi arrived at the coffee shop across from the residential area.

She muttered to herself, arriving ten minutes early; she hoped this would be considered polite.

Entering the coffee shop, she glanced around. It was the weekend, and the place was crowded. From a distance, she noticed the man sitting at the table her mother had described.

The man, clad in a suit with a leather collar, appeared upright from his silhouette.

She pursed her lips and slowly walked over, politely starting the conversation: “Hello, are you Mr. Zhang Siming?”

“Yes, I am. Hello, Miss Bai.”

Seeing Bai Yiyi, a flash of astonishment beamed in Zhang Siming’s eyes; he quickly stood up, greeted her warmly, and reached out for a handshake.

“Please, have a seat, Miss Bai.”

Bai Yiyi made herself comfortable without hesitation and sat down.

Zhang Siming called over a server, “What coffee would Miss Bai like?”

“I’ll have a Blue Mountain coffee, thank you!” Bai Yiyi politely told the server and sat across Zhang Siming who kept sizing her up.

After the server left, Zhang Siming, with a smile, inquired, “Miss Bai, I heard you work at Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory?”

“Yes, that’s correct.”

“Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory is a great place. I work at the Drug Administration Office. Since I’ve just been transferred to G City, we haven’t met before, but we will have plenty of opportunities in the future.”

Zhang Siming had been transferred from a county-level city to G City less than two months ago.

Outside the café, Bai Yuqin, holding Tongtong, exited the residential area and noticed Gu Kai getting out of his Maybach.

“Daddy.”

Tongtong, with her sharp eyes, joyfully shouted upon seeing her father.

A radiant smile blossomed across Gu Kai’s face as he walked over briskly, politely calling out, “Aunt Bai,” before extending his hands to scoop Tongtong into his embrace.

“Daddy, lift me high.”

Tongtong loved being lifted high above Gu Kai’s head, feeling like a little bird soaring joyfully.

Gu Kai laughed heartily, “Alright, high it is, Tongtong flies!”

He lifted her above his head and spun around several times, her silver-bell-like laughter filling the air.

Nearby, Bai Yuqin chuckled and said, “Tongtong really enjoys being lifted high. I’m too old to lift her now, and Yiyi can’t lift her either.”

“Tongtong, if you want to be lifted high, just ask Daddy, okay?”

Gu Kai gave a warm smile to Bai Yuqin and tenderly kissed Tongtong’s face.

Tongtong giggled merrily: “Okay, Daddy, lift me high.”

Whether a boy or a girl, all children love playing with their dads, and Tongtong was no exception. She loved her mom and grandma,

but she enjoyed playing with her dad even more.

“Tongtong, daddy will get tired. Let’s go find mommy.”

“Find mommy, daddy, find mommy.” Tongtong didn’t realize that other kids had their parents living together, participating in play.

Unlike them, her dad didn’t live with her.

Excited by the mention of finding mommy by her grandma, she was thrilled that both her parents would play with her.

“Alright, let’s find mommy. Tongtong, can you tell daddy where mommy is?”

Gu Kai playfully teased Tongtong.

Tongtong pointed to the coffee shop across the street, “Mommy.”

When she left the neighborhood just now, Grandma had told her that her mom was in the coffee shop across the street.

Seeing Tongtong pointing to the coffee shop across, Gu Kai’s handsome eyebrows immediately raised with pride, generously praising, “Tongtong is so smart, daddy will take you to find mommy.”

Gu Kai carried Tongtong across the pedestrian walkway, and along with Bai Yuqin, entered the coffee shop, immediately spotting Bai Yiyi chatting happily with a strange man.

The smile in his eyes faded slightly, and he silently cursed in his heart, the untrustworthy woman, who claimed she only needed Tongtong and would never marry in her lifetime.

It hadn’t been long, yet she couldn’t bear the loneliness and was mingling with another man.

As if feeling his gaze, Bai Yiyi, who was listening to Zhang Siming speak, turned towards the door, and her face abruptly changed upon seeing Gu Kai holding Tongtong as they entered.

“Miss Bai, what’s wrong?”

Zhang Siming stared at Bai Yiyi, observing the changes in her expression, turned his head, and followed her gaze toward the entrance.

As Bai Yiyi looked over, Gu Kai glared coldly at her, instantly regaining his smile, and walked into the coffee shop holding Tongtong.

“Ah Kai, let’s sit over here.”

Bai Yuqin pointed to a spot three tables away from where Bai Yiyi and her company were seated.

Gu Kai smiled and nodded, “Okay.”

Bai Yiyi’s gaze couldn’t help but follow Gu Kai and Tongtong, until across from her, Zhang Siming called her again, “Miss Bai, that’s Young Master Gu, do you know him too?”

“Yes, the new medicine from our factory is undergoing clinical trials at Kangning Hospital.”

Bai Yiyi came back to her senses and explained lightly.

Zhang Siming slapped his forehead annoyedly, his smile carrying a tinge of naivety, “I almost forgot that point. You work at Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory, how could you not know Young Master Gu.”

Bai Yiyi pulled up a somewhat awkward smile, picked up the coffee in front of her, contemplating whether to tell Zhang Siming now that she was an unmarried mother with a daughter.

However, before she could speak, and even before she had set down her coffee, Tongtong’s clear voice rang out: “Mommy, Mommy!”

Bai Yiyi quickly put down the coffee, turned her head, and saw Tongtong running staggeringly. Instinctively, she looked toward Gu Kai, not far away, who hooked his lips in a vaguely mocking smile.

Zhang Siming was startled by Tongtong.

He stared wide-eyed and agape at Bai Yiyi.

Bai Yiyi glanced at Gu Kai, then, worried Tongtong would trip from running too fast, quickly stood up and opened her arms to embrace the rushing child.

“Tongtong, don’t run so fast.”

“Mommy, Tongtong missed you.”

Tongtong, sweet as ever, after saying these words, planted a kiss on Bai Yiyi’s face, making Bai Yiyi laugh and then she picked her up and sat back down.

Seeing Zhang Siming staring in disbelief, Bai Yiyi, showing no embarrassment or intention to hide, wore an apologetic smile and said, “I’m sorry, Mr. Zhang, perhaps your aunt hadn’t told you, I’m an unmarried mother, Tongtong is my daughter.”

Zhang Siming was still stunned, looking at Bai Yiyi, not comprehending her words at first.

Bai Yiyi felt somewhat relieved, she placed Tongtong on one leg, freeing a hand to pull out her wallet, “Mr. Zhang, I’ll treat you to this coffee today, my apologies.”

She placed the money on the table and picked up Tongtong, ready to leave.

Seeing her rise, he finally reacted, hastily stood up and intervened, “Miss Bai, wait a moment.”

“What else is there?”

Bai Yiyi looked at Zhang Siming calmly.

After all, she wasn’t interested in dating or getting married. Now that Zhang Siming knew about Tongtong’s existence, and if he couldn’t accept it, it was a good thing for her.

He glanced at Tongtong in her arms, then back at her, his face showing a hint of guilt, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to disdain you for being an unmarried mother; it was just a surprise.”
