Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2945: Chapter 2946: Malicious Scheme

The sky emitted a wailing wind, resembling a crying sound, and it became overcast.

The villagers shivered in fright, thinking it was a vengeful spirit causing trouble.

”Is there something wrong with the coffin?” The astrologer waved his hand, ”I will handle it for you, but if you continue to create disturbances, I’ll make your soul disperse!”

The wailing wind arose again, and the shadow quickly disappeared.

Bai Ruozhu noticed some black ash falling nearby, and quietly chuckled. Wasn’t the astrologer afraid that using amulets for deception would tarnish his reputation as the first Yin Yang Master?

Soon, she saw Ao Song in the distance, sticking his tongue out playfully.

Apparently, Ao Song was part of the deception; these two collaborated wonderfully, almost like a perfect match.

”Master, what should we do?” The village chief asked tremblingly.

The astrologer appeared solemn, ”She said there’s a problem with the grave, she’s unable to find peace, so the coffin must be opened. I will also roughly solve the problem with the coffin for her.”

”This...”

Everyone showed expressions of disapproval, opening a coffin is disrespectful to the deceased. Moreover, people from the Su Family Village are so conservative, how could they agree?

”If her demands aren’t met, she will continue to create disturbances,” the astrologer said.

At this moment, a man was assisted and came forward. His face was haggard, and he could barely walk properly, nothing like a normal farmer.

”Look, it’s Qiao Er, hasn’t been seen out of his house in a while.” Someone remarked.

”Why is he like this? Could it be because of his wife’s nagging?” Another person speculated.

Bai Ruozhu’s lips twitched; she had heard from Ao Song that they had been scaring Qiao Er for several nights to achieve today’s effect.

At the time, she advised against scaring him to death; though Qiao Er hitting his wife was repulsive, scaring an ordinary villager to death wouldn’t sound good either.

But now, the person wasn’t scared to death but was indeed close to it.

”Open the coffin, open the coffin!” Qiao Er shouted with all his might.

The old patriarch of Qiao Family showed concern, ”Second, have you thought it through?”

”Father, open the coffin for her; she comes to find me every day, I really can’t take it anymore. If this continues, I’d rather be dead!” Qiao Er cried in pain, tightly grabbing his hair, ”I just wanted to ask her whom she met, she wouldn’t say, so I got upset and pushed her a bit, but I really didn’t mean to hit her. Who knew she’d hit her forehead and started causing a fuss like life or death.”

”I really didn’t want her to die, it wasn’t intentional...” Qiao Er sat on the ground, messing up his hair, crying loudly.

Bai Ruozhu glared at Ao Song in the distance, look what you’ve scared him into?

If according to Qiao Er’s statement, he might not have beaten his wife but accidentally touched her, leading to a series of unfortunate events afterward.

Qiao Er already scared to this extent, has confessed too, seems really unnecessary to lie further.

”The coffin must be opened,” the astrologer said decisively.

The village chief glanced at the old patriarch of Qiao Family, since it was Qiao Family’s matter.

”Open it.” The old patriarch of Qiao Family looked at his distraught second son and replied wearily.

The astrologer performed a ritual and then called Jianqi and others to help with the opening of the coffin. This time, he wasn’t just going through the motions to fool people but genuinely preventing the spread of corpse qi from the coffin.

Finally, the coffin was opened, the unpleasant smell wafted out immediately, and many people quickly backed away, fearing contamination by bad luck.

Bai Ruozhu approached, witnessing the body inside the coffin.

The person had been dead for a month, the body was incomplete, and bugs had crawled, really quite disgusting.

Bai Ruozhu took out gloves from her sleeve and began examining.

”Why is Master Bai checking it?” The village chief asked worriedly.

Su Zhen did not dare to say Bai Ruozhu was conducting a post-mortem, hastily said, ”Grandpa, didn’t you know Master Bai is the National Master’s disciple?”

The village chief showed respect, ”So that’s how it is.”

Bai Ruozhu chuckled secretly, the reputation of Astrology Tower and the National Master was indeed quite useful.

She checked the neck wound of Qiao’s Second Daughter-in-law, and then said to Jianqi, ”Take a look.”

”Yes,” Jianqi replied.

Soon, he whispered to Bai Ruozhu, ”It wasn’t suicide, she was strangled by someone and then hanged.”

Bai Ruozhu nodded, ”That’s what I thought too, seems like it was indeed murder.”

”The perpetrator knows martial arts and has inner strength, accelerated the strangling speed with inner strength, probably fearing she might cause noise to alert Qiao’s Family.” Jianqi continued.

”It’s not the doing of Qiao’s Family,” Bai Ruozhu said.

”The attacker was clean and swift, couldn’t be an ordinary person; I feel their main skill is actually neck-breaking, but to create an illusion of the victim’s suicide by hanging, they used strangling.” Jianqi added.

Bai Ruozhu took out a silver needle to check, the body wasn’t poisoned, lethal injuries were on the throat, died from suffocation, throat sustained some damage due to strangling.

”Turn the body over.” Bai Ruozhu instructed.

Wei Jiu and others obeyed and turned the body over, the unpleasant smell rose again. The astrologer threw several amulets, and they automatically flew to people’s faces, shielding their noses.

The villagers of Su Family Village exclaimed again in amazement, to them, it was akin to an immortal technique.

”Master, what exactly is the problem?” The village chief stepped forward and asked.

The astrologer put on a serious face, ”Drowned from behind, spirit unsettled.”

A gasp echoed; was the spirit unsettled so severe?

Someone got closer to take a look, couldn’t help but exclaim, ”Oh my, there’s really water on the back, the coffin let in water!”

The astrologer’s face changed, this time not pretending, genuinely serious.

Ao Song also ran over to inspect, her face changed involuntarily.

”Opening the coffin was right!” she shouted, ”Oh my, if this coffin hadn’t been opened, within a year your entire village would be finished!”

Everyone’s face changed dramatically, wasn’t this just a scare?

”Could someone have set a Feng Shui formation, using Qiao’s Second Daughter-in-law to sabotage the village’s Feng Shui?” Tian Feng, rather calm, stepped forward to ask.

”Not a Feng Shui formation, it’s a Deadman’s Formation,” Ao Song retorted.

Bai Ruozhu glared at her, ”Stop scaring them; actually, someone killed Qiao’s Second Daughter-in-law, creating the illusion of her suicide, tampered with her corpse. Her back is wet, water source below has been redirected, connected to your village’s well water underground, so children suffering hand-foot-mouth disease is just the beginning, eventually the whole village will fall ill.”

A gasp sounded again, people of Su Family Village felt chills, who was harming them?

”Isn’t hand-foot-mouth disease only spread among children?” Tian Feng asked.

”Initially yes, but consider the virus soaking with water and corpse together, underground someone set up a water-guiding magic array, you drink this water daily, how can you not get sick?” Bai Ruozhu explained, ”Luckily opened the coffin, otherwise who could have thought someone would do such malicious things.”
