Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2930: Chapter 2931: The Child’s Convulsions

Bai Ruozhu quickly supported the person, a silver needle pierced down, and the Village Chief suddenly fainted.

”Wei Jiu, support him.” Bai Ruozhu ordered.

Without a word, Wei Jiu supported the unconscious Village Chief.

”What did you do to our Village Chief?” A villager yelled.

The female doctor also looked at Bai Ruozhu, ”Was it the leader who just saved my Grandpa? Why did you make him faint again?”

”He’s your Grandpa?” Bai Ruozhu seemed to understand why the Village Chief didn’t like female doctors. Such a stubborn old man, how could he accept his granddaughter practicing medicine like a man?

”I am Su Zhen, from Su Family Village, and indeed the Village Chief is my Grandpa.” said the female doctor.

Bai Ruozhu nodded, ”His heart is not good. Just saved him, he saw you and got so angry again, better let him sleep for a while, or he will relapse.”

Su Zhen showed a guilty expression, ”I shouldn’t have come, I just made Grandpa angry again.”

”Su Zhen, it’s because of you showing your face outside like this, letting your Grandpa down, even Zhang Family canceled the engagement, where can your Grandpa’s face go?” An older man said.

”You are too stubborn. Why can’t a woman be a doctor? There were female doctors before, wouldn’t it be more convenient for women to treat women? In the future, I can treat the sisters in the village. I also want to try to do something for the village.” Su Zhen said very aggrieved.

The older farmer got a bit angry, his voice raised, ”Su Zhen, you were such an obedient child when you were young, how did you become like this, even publicly confronting your elders? Had you not angered your Grandpa during last month’s busy farming period, his health wouldn’t be so bad now.”

Someone nearby seemed unclear about the matter, another person explained in a low voice: ”Last month the Village Chief couldn’t stand properly in the field and accidentally got his arm cut by a sickle. Someone went to Luohe City to get a doctor, but who knew they saw Su Zhen in the Clinic. Her family paid for her schooling, but she dressed like a man to treat people, completely lost the Village Chief’s face. Later, she went back to treat the Village Chief’s wound, while the wound healed quickly, but directly gave the Village Chief a heart ailment.”

Su Zhen glanced at her pale-faced Grandpa, deeply guilty, and deflated.

But Bai Ruozhu saw she wasn’t ashamed for being a female doctor, nor felt studying medicine was wrong, only felt guilty towards her Grandpa due to her filial piety.

”Alright, let’s send the Village Chief back, don’t waste time here, lest he wakes up and gets angry again.” The older farmer spoke with authority, as he spoke others started to leave.

Bai Ruozhu had some impression of him, just now the people from Su Family Village were snatching gold leaf, he went over too but was pulling others back instead of competing.

Someone came to carry the Village Chief, Su Zhen wanted to help, but was pushed aside, only the young man who went to inform her was friendly, spoke low: ”You go back first, wait till your Grandpa calms down.”

Su Zhen nodded, ”Help my Grandpa block some things, don’t let him be exposed to the sun on the way, thank you, Tian Bing.”

The young man scratched his head and smiled awkwardly, ”Thank what, we’re from the same village, I think it’s great you’re studying medicine...”

Before he finished speaking, the older farmer kicked him, he staggered and almost fell.

”You brat, shut up, get back!”

”Dad, this is the Public Hall, you can’t just hit people.” Tian Bing said while running away, still giving Su Zhen a reassuring look.

Turns out this family is surnamed Tian, the young farmer is Tian Bing’s father.

Bai Ruozhu glanced over, let Jianqi and others step back, ”Go find a stretcher, chase after them later.”

”Yes.”

Someone wanted to say Bai Ruozhu was pretending to be nice, but seeing the pale Village Chief, they closed their mouths.

Of course, it also had to do with the fact that those who picked up gold leaves were embarrassed to speak up, Ao Song stood beside Bai Ruozhu watching them, the saying goes, it’s hard to say no when you’ve accepted favors.

”Child’s father, quick, look at our Gouwa, or he’s not going to make it!” A piercing voice came in from outside the Government Office, the woman cried ”not going to make it” sounding particularly desperate and helpless.

Soon a woman rushed in holding a boy, Su Family Village people surrounded them.

”Ah, he’s convulsing? Why not find a doctor, what are you doing at the Government Office?” someone said anxiously.

The woman panically spoke: ”I only recognize the Government Office, thought you all went there, so I ran.”

Then people noticed the woman had messy hair, dusty all over, one foot shoeless, the other shoe worn through, her pants legs dirty.

She had run so fiercely with the child, she didn’t even notice her shoe was gone.

”Let me see.” Su Zhen said, but everyone surrounded her, no one gave way.

At this moment, the child in the woman’s arms twitched again, foam coming out of his mouth.

The woman cried out, ”My Gouwa, I will fight with Bai Family, give me back my child!”

Her voice was too sharp, startled County Magistrate Mei Zhenghua on the hall, he stood up craning his neck to see, did the child stop breathing?

Onlookers, seeing the new people of Su Family Village leaving, were ready to disperse, but gathered again with this commotion.

”I heard several children died, look, another is going to die, so sinful!”

”Bai Family’s Dong Family is inside, even the Magistrate doesn’t dare handle them, is there justice?”

”The Magistrate said it’s not investigated yet, but what’s to investigate? How could a healthy child suddenly die?”

”No, this is too much, we must get justice for the poor child!”

Someone started shouting for Bai Family to pay with their lives, ask the Magistrate to preside justice, and onlookers joined in.

”Please, Magistrate, give justice, make Bai Family pay with their lives for the child!”

”Please, Magistrate, give justice, make Bai Family pay with their lives for the child!”

”...”

The shouting grew louder, some people were even red-eyed with agitation, officers hurriedly blocked the Main Hall door, preventing them from rushing in.

”Put the child down!” Bai Ruozhu suddenly roared, her voice infused with inner strength, causing ears to buzz and suppressed the shouting outside.

Su Family Village people were stunned, it was Gouwa’s father who reacted, angrily stared at Bai Ruozhu, ”What do you want? Do you want to destroy the body?”

Bai Ruozhu’s anger finally couldn’t be contained, she charged forward, raised her hand and slapped him.

”The child is still alive, how can it be a corpse, if you really hope your child dies here, keep making trouble, ignorant! Foolish!”
