Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2905: Chapter 2906: Dog-Blood Grudges and Passions

For Mrs. Sun and Kong Erhao, Bai Ruozhu felt no sympathy; neither were clean.

Kong Er, approaching Mrs. Sun for revenge, was already of ill intent.

And Mrs. Sun, while having a husband, cheated with a servant, showcasing her poor character.

But Sun Zhou was indeed not killed by them, Bai Ruozhu only wanted to handle this matter justly.

”Master Bai, can he still be saved?” the county magistrate asked worriedly, after all, Sun Zhou’s sudden death had greatly shocked the officials present at the time.

”He himself said, it was noticed more promptly than Sun Zhou, and there’s still time, unlike Sun Zhou who died immediately from the poison.” Bai Ruozhu explained so that when she saved Kong Er, no one would say that she deliberately didn’t save Sun Zhou despite being able to.

”That’s good, that’s good.” the county magistrate said somewhat nervously.

Mrs. Sun watched Bai Ruozhu closely, wanting to speak several times but held back, uncertain if her questions would delay Kong Er’s treatment; Kong Er’s mouth had already begun to bleed, proving his claim of poisoning wasn’t a lie.

Suddenly, hurried footsteps came from outside the main hall and a maid-rigged woman rushed in; seeing the blood at the corner of Kong Er’s mouth, she lunged at him.

”Kong Er, you bastard, you promised to marry me after this ends, how can you die for her?” The woman cried out, trying to pull at Kong Er, but the county magistrate quickly had someone pull her away.

Mrs. Sun looked at the woman in surprise, ”Ding Xiang, you...”

Bai Ruozhu’s mouth twitched, how this plot seemed to grow more dramatic, a revenge story turning into an ethical drama, with a maid now appearing—this was the scandal in the estate.

Ding Xiang glared at Mrs. Sun, ”By now, you should know, no need for me to hide anymore. Yes, the first time I secretly put medicine in your tea, but later everything was voluntary.”

Mrs. Sun felt as if struck by thunder, watching Ding Xiang in disbelief, ”You were my head maid, wasn’t I good to you? Why...”

Why would she help Kong Er to harm her?

Turns out everything was planned from the start, even those around her betrayed her.

Ding Xiang coldly laughed, ”He’s the master’s son, the young master of the residence, why wouldn’t I listen to him? Besides, he promised to marry me!”

Ao Song mocked, ”Zhongyuan customs indeed have many rules, masters can take a maid as a concubine, but I’ve never heard of a master marrying a maid as a wife. Of course, he’s not from the Sun Family, so anything goes, but if he wasn’t their heir, would you marry him?”

”That’s my own business, doesn’t concern you.” Ding Xiang stubbornly said.

Mrs. Sun sighed, ”Ding Xiang, all these years I’ve been too kind to you, treating you like a daughter, only to raise your expectations so high, never thought you’d resent me.”

Ding Xiang glanced at Kong Er, thinking he was dying, emotionally volatile.

”Of course I’d hate you, if it weren’t for you, why would he die?” Ding Xiang shouted.

Bai Ruozhu pressed a point on Kong Er’s body, having silenced him earlier because he was too noisy, now releasing it; yet Kong Er still couldn’t move.

”Enough, Ding Xiang, this matter doesn’t concern you, leave now.” Kong Er hurriedly said.

Ding Xiang stared wide-eyed, ”You, you’re not dead?”

Kong Er didn’t want to see her, ”If it’s come to this, I have nothing to offer you, go find a good family to marry into.”

”No! If she’s dead, you return to the Sun Family, you’re their young master!” Ding Xiang protested.

”I won’t go back, my mistake, but I’ve realized too late, I shouldn’t have gone to the Sun Family, it’s not my place.” Kong Er spoke, tears streaming down.

Bai Ruozhu pulled out the silver needles one by one, tossing Detoxification Pills into his mouth, ”You won’t die for now, but you need to recuperate, I’ll prescribe medicine, take half a month to fully recover.”

Kong Er looked at her, ”Why do you save me?”

”Because I know you didn’t actually poison Sun Zhou, or rather it’s not your intent.” Bai Ruozhu said, casting a glance at Niu Butou, ”Earlier Niu Butou discovered, we also confirmed, just couldn’t capture that demon.”

”Demon?” the county magistrate was shocked, glancing at Diao Shengyan, and then at Niu Butou, ”What is going on here?”

”Responding to Master, earlier Mrs. Sun gifted a dancing girl to the subordinate, who found her odd, suddenly collapsing with something emerging from her, completely changing her nature; before checking further, insider sold her off secretly.” Niu Butou reported.

”Later I saw Master Bai’s investigation on the dancer, voluntarily sharing my findings with her, realizing it was a demon controlling the dancer.”

”This, this...” the county magistrate fretted, ”Children dismiss strange chaos and gods.”

Ao Song, unhappy, protested, ”I’m a descendant of the Supernatural Art Family and Fusang’s top Yin Yang Master have confirmed, can there be any falsehood? Mind your words, even your Emperor doesn’t dispute me.”

The county magistrate was startled, assuming Ao Song was Bai Ruozhu’s confidant, not knowing her reputation was so grand.

”My words were inappropriate, Master please do not take offense.” he hurriedly bowed.

Ao Song snorted indifferently, indicating no further dispute.

”Kong Er, on the day Sun Zhou died, did you suddenly collapse as if emptied, afterward dissipative?” Bai Ruozhu inquired.

Kong Er looked incredulous, ”I did collapse, but assumed detox over poisoning, yet recall administering poison, but...”

He hesitated, reluctant to speak, not wanting self-excuse.

”But you didn’t intend to, yet unwittingly complied, correct?” Bai Ruozhu asked.

Kong Er remained silent, Bai Ruozhu continued, ”The demon controlled you thus; other affairs aren’t my concern, those are internal grudges and vendettas, yet regarding Sun Zhou’s demise, you are innocent.”

”I also bribed the killer.” Kong Er hurriedly confessed.

Bai Ruozhu coldly shot him a look, ”No matter who, mistakes demand consequences, don’t speak of justification. I sympathize with Mrs. Sun’s plight due to Sun Zhou’s death provoking drastic acts, yet who empathizes with the slain old beggar? Master, proceed with dignity; the old beggar’s grandson is young, unable to attend plea justice, hence I request in lieu.”

The county magistrate hurriedly replied, ”Master Bai’s words weigh heavily, this is what a subordinate must do, yet how to close the demon’s murder case?”

He truly felt helpless, needed their government office’s captains to hunt demons? Wouldn’t they just feed the demon?
