Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2902: Chapter 2903: Orphan Training Institute

”No need to be too polite; I should count as many of your juniors.” Bai Ruozhu said with a smile.

Wei Mingli got a bit anxious upon hearing this, ”Alliance Leader must not say so, your medical skills are indeed our seniors.”

Bai Ruozhu waved her hand, ”Let’s not be too formal today, I have something to ask for your help.”

”Alliance Leader, feel free to arrange.” Wei Mingli was exceptionally serious, and Bai Ruozhu was a bit amused, perhaps her previous reminder to mind his conduct had scared this Branch President.

”Let’s talk inside.” She said as she walked inside.

Inside the branch, quite a few doctors were fiercely discussing a case, so much so that no one noticed Bai Ruozhu had entered.

Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but recall the time in her previous life when she studied medicine in Mi Country, fiercely debating cases with her classmates just like this.

Except that back then, they all spoke in English.

Recalling years back instantly, she suddenly felt a bit old, losing the youthful ambition of her younger days.

”Acupuncture can be used here, why waste precious medicinal materials? You must know, how many common people can afford this?” a doctor said loudly.

”The combination of medication would work better; this depends on the patient’s personal condition. We doctors must be more flexible,” another person said.

Everyone nodded; this wasn’t about playing favorites with patients but considering their actual circumstances, which is the way to truly help them.

Take, for example, a common person suffering from this strain-related illness. Acupuncture treatment lasts three months while combining with medicine would only take a month. If you say the medicine must be used for his good, but how could he buy those expensive medicines? The cost can match a family’s years of expenses.

Don’t even talk about the benevolence of a doctor; you can’t selflessly supply medicinal materials, as such behavior won’t be affordable for any family.

Finally, someone noticed Bai Ruozhu and excitedly stood to salute, ”Greetings, Alliance Leader.”

This prompted all doctors to stand up and salute, making Bai Ruozhu somewhat embarrassed, especially a few older doctors with white hair and beards who bowed ninety degrees.

She hastily helped them up, saying, ”No need for such formality; everyone sit and talk.”

Wei Mingli noticed Bai Ruozhu’s personality and gave the crowd a look, ”Alliance Leader asks you to sit, then sit.”

Bai Ruozhu took out a manuscript, ”Pass this around later, keep a copy in the association and send it to nearby branches.”

”Good, good, thank you, Alliance Leader.” Wei Mingli’s eyes lit up, the manuscript from the Alliance Leader is something that once read, doctors are reluctant to put down.

”In a few days, there will be changes in the weather; boil some decoction to prevent cold and distribute it to the common people for free. I will instruct the steward to allocate funds.” Bai Ruozhu said.

”Rest assured, Alliance Leader, our funds are sufficient for now; no need for additional allocations.” Wei Mingli said, ”However, will the weather change significantly?”

It’s still warm; changes could be just rain and wind, is it necessary to prepare for cold? Not only Wei Mingli but others were also somewhat puzzled.

Bai Ruozhu smiled, ”I studied a bit at the Astrology Tower, observed some celestial phenomena, and in a few days there will be strong winds, temperatures will drop significantly.”

The group looked at her with a little more admiration, astrological observation, not something ordinary people can learn.

”These are small expenses; besides, there’s another matter I need help with, intending to make this a new responsibility for our Medical Alliance.” She continued.

Ao Song’s eyes lit up, knowing what she was going to say.

”Today I discovered many children in the city who have lost their parents and are homeless; they can only survive by begging on the streets, often beaten and cursed. When the weather turns cold, their situation will be more difficult, and many won’t grow up before succumbing. Our Medical Alliance has always wanted to help the common people, why not start with these children? Children are our future.”

Recalling today’s scenes, her eyes slightly reddened; she herself has children who live well, without worry about food and clothing, but that doesn’t justify ignoring those suffering children; her heart felt uneasy.

”I hope the Medical Alliance everywhere can establish orphanages, provide food and lodging for these children while teaching them skills. I hope the help for these children goes beyond a few mouthfuls of food, to providing a better future.”

”Giving someone a fish doesn’t compare to teaching them fishing. We need to educate children according to their situation, whether it’s literacy, studying medicine to save lives, or learning business. At worst, they can run errands, work odd jobs for the Medical Alliance.”

Bai Ruozhu saw that many people’s eyes were also red, feeling a lot of emotions, these things, if it were in the past, if it were in the previous life, she wouldn’t dare to imagine, as much ability leads to as much responsibility. She wasn’t the type to pretend with false bravado.

Now that she has the ability, it’s time to do something.

”This is a good thing; I agree with the Alliance Leader’s idea!”

”Yes, just yesterday I saw a child begging for food, gave a few copper coins, but thinking now a few mouthfuls aren’t enough, like the Alliance Leader said, we need to help them have a better future.”

”That’s great, maybe we can cultivate some great talents in the future, haha.”

”Not to mention far away, cultivating talent for our alliance is not bad either.”

”...”

The doctors spoke one by one, all were very excited; only Wei Mingli furrowed his brow slightly, looking a bit worried.

”Alliance Leader, this requires substantial funding, I estimated that under current conditions of the Medical Alliance overseeing free consultations and periodic medicine distribution, it’s hard to sustain.” He was in management and saw things more clearly, not deliberately pouring cold water.

Ao Song took out a gold leaf and slapped it on the table beside him, ”I’ll fund part of the expenses first.”

The doctors were dumbfounded at the sight, all those gold leaves, not silver.

”I will find a way for funding, there’s another method, fundraising.” Bai Ruozhu rarely showed a sly smile, making everyone freeze, then realized, isn’t their Alliance Leader only twenty?

”We don’t charge for consultations during free clinics, and even other times we charge very little. But treating rich people, we should charge accordingly; after all, can they compare money to life? From now on, during visits for aristocrats and rich people, add a clause for donations to the orphanage.” Bai Ruozhu said.

Wei Mingli’s eyes brightened, ”This method is good; wealthy people care more about reputation, at that time list the names and donation amounts of supporters at the orphanage entrance.”

Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but laugh aloud, giving Wei Mingli a thumbs up.

If several families have competitive relationships or if anyone dislikes another, he donates five hundred, would you suppress him by donating a thousand?

This matter gains face, earns fame; why not enjoy?

”It shouldn’t be called an orphanage; it is more suitable as an Orphan Training Institute. We are not merely sheltering, but focusing on nurturing them into adults.” Bai Ruozhu said.
