Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2275: Chapter 2274: If You Become a Buddha, Then I Shall Become a Demon

A hasty glance showed a dark box, and upon close inspection, it turned out to be a box full of bugs! And they were actually dried-up, dead bugs!

Bai Ruozhu involuntarily shivered, almost throwing the box away. Although she herself had poisonous insects, Xiaomao was so cute and not at all like those dark poisonous insects.

Xiaomao happily pounced towards it, saying it wanted to devour them all. Bai Ruozhu gagged and said to it, ”Stay away from me after you finish eating, I’m disgusted by you!”

Wuwuwu, Xiaomao was about to cry. What it meant by eating was actually absorbing the residual toxins from these poisonous insects and not really consuming them; it wasn’t interested in corpses at all!

While Xiaomao absorbed, Bai Ruozhu continued to observe the room.

Soon, she discovered some small characters behind a bronze mirror, and she illuminated them with a torch to see them clearly.

With one thought, life prevails; with one thought, death ensues. What thought invites Buddha, what thought invokes demon?

If you become Buddha, then I shall enter demonhood. Yet see how this universe rejects me, black and white cannot abide together!

The words were engraved very small, but each letter exuded intense hatred and anger, as if vying against the universe unto life or death.

Bai Ruozhu read through these words, her mind captivated, as if the entire person was drawn in, unable to recover for a long while.

”Master, Master where are you?” Jianqi’s voice came from above, snapping Bai Ruozhu’s mind back to reality.

Bai Ruozhu dared not linger any further, returning the bronze mirror to its original position, calling to Xiaomao, and hastily left the stone chamber.

Perhaps she felt the sadness and anger in these words, she couldn’t help but wish to keep the secret for its owner.

Moreover, from the location of the stone chamber and implied meaning in the words, the person the woman cared about was the monk from Xinchan Temple, but it’s unclear how long ago this place existed.

Bai Ruozhu exited the stone chamber and the door fell back into place behind her. She briefly tidied up the vines outside so nobody would find it.

”I’m fine, I just discovered some herbal medicine and will come up soon,” Bai Ruozhu shouted upwards.

Seeing her not come up yet, Jianqi used inner strength to shout. If she didn’t respond, Jianqi would come down again.

Bai Ruozhu dared not delay, quickly tying the rope around her waist and climbed up the cliff wall.

Xiaomao returned to Space with its benefits and soon fell asleep again.

Bai Ruozhu sighed helplessly, this creature spends more time sleeping than working. If it weren’t able to absorb lesser poisonous insects, having the ability to nullify them, it would be utterly useless.

”Ruozhu, what herbal medicine did you find that took so long to come up?” Fo Lanying sighed with great relief seeing Bai Ruozhu safely emerge.

”It’s herbal medicine beneficial to Yizi’s injury,” Bai Ruozhu said, casually extracting a herb for internal injuries from Space, though she showed it briefly to Fo Lanying before quickly stowing it away. Although the herbal medicine is well-preserved in Space, it wasn’t freshly picked. Fortunately, the darkening sky didn’t draw attention from others.

”As long as you’re okay, everyone should hurry back and rest,” Master Pu Zhu advised.

”Thank you, Master, and thanks to everyone for today’s trouble. Here’s some incense money for the temple, please accept it gladly,” Bai Ruozhu handed a hundred taels silver banknote to Pu Zhu.

Paying helpers is warranted, how can one labor for nothing? Furthermore, maintaining such a large temple requires sustenance, clothing for many monks; offering some incense money is right, especially when we’ve stayed for free for many days.

”Old monk won’t be reserved with Benefactor Bai,” Pu Zhu accepted the silver banknote, his eyes devoid of surprise or joy, utterly composed.

Afterward, everyone descended the mountain, Jianqi constantly held onto Yizi, refusing to let others assist, even asking Bai Ruozhu several times when Yizi would awaken.

Bai Ruozhu saw his concern and felt a bit sympathetic, pondering whether to let it be and stop tormenting poor Jianqi.

Thinking of Jianqi’s stubbornness, Bai Ruozhu decided to wait until tomorrow to let Yizi awaken, avoiding Jianqi’s retreats upon waking up.

Once back at the temple, Fo Lanying supported Yuan Licheng to rest, apologizing to Jianqi with shame, ”Sorry for today’s matters, once Yizi wakes, I’ll officially beg forgiveness.”

Jianqi waved helplessly; after all, he had stabbed Yuan Licheng too. Further reproach wouldn’t be appropriate.

”You all should rest; you’re not to blame for this,” Jianqi said.

Fo Lanying glanced at Bai Ruozhu, lowering his head in shame, looking akin to a little wife.

Bai Ruozhu checked on Yizi again and instructed Jianqi to take good care of Yizi; she went to see Jiang Yichun.

”Were you alright when you were alone?” Bai Ruozhu asked upon entering the room.

”I’m fine. Did you really think I could become a powerless patient? Moreover, Master Pudeng has sealed Zhu Ning’s inner strength and confiscated her mechanical puppets; what could happen?” Jiang Yichun said, standing up to embrace Bai Ruozhu’s shoulders.

Bai Ruozhu showed surprise, ”You can see now?”

”Much improvement. Before, I could only see black shadows, but now clear contours appear. It seems just a few days until full recovery,” Jiang Yichun said.

Bai Ruozhu dusted off the dirt; climbing from the cliff bottom had left her with lots of wall residue.

”You still need to rest well, avoid straining your eyes to recover faster. I’ll tidy up, you should lie down to sleep,” Bai Ruozhu helped him back to the bed.

Jiang Yichun removed his outer robe and lay down, eyes closed, ”Is everything alright?”

Talking of this riled up Bai Ruozhu, ”Don’t mention it! Those four were causing such a mess; I’ve sent them all away, too much unrest.”

Jiang Yichun chuckled, ”Your tone resembles that of an elder.”

”It almost is! I’m stressing myself to the point of becoming a nanny. Why does Fo Lanying need to throw down so heavily, let alone Yuan Licheng constantly provoking Jianqi? Jianqi too, instead of discussing it with me urgently, resorted to real actions, otherwise Yuan Licheng wouldn’t fall off the cliff.”

She sighed, ”Most exasperating was Yizi; after so many days of following me, hasn’t he learned my strength and optimism? Is life easy to live for once? Just jumping off a cliff? It’s too dismissive of life.”

”Young people, always impulsive,” Jiang Yichun laughed.

Bai Ruozhu glared at him, ”Speaking as if we’re seventy or eighty years old.”

”Not old yet, we have three kids,” Jiang Yichun chuckled softly.

Bai Ruozhu felt dark lines form on her forehead; at her age, she’d still be in college if it were the modern era.
