Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2273: Chapter 2272: Searching Below the Cliff

”Ah?” Yuan Licheng panted heavily, ”How would I see her? Where’s Yizi?”

Fo Lanying sat dazed on the ground, ”Yizi said she wanted to give her life for you, and she jumped down...”

”What?” Yuan Licheng exclaimed, jumping up to look down the cliff. When he was climbing earlier, one of his shoulders was injured, making it very difficult. Plus, he’s a bit afraid of heights, so he had to keep his head down to climb. On the way, he seemed to feel a sudden gust of wind above his head, but he didn’t think much of it. Could that have been Yizi jumping down?

Fo Lanying burst into tears, ”It’s all my fault, I caused this, I harmed Yizi.”

Seeing her so sad, Yuan Licheng’s heart twisted, ”Don’t overthink it. Maybe she grabbed onto the vines on the cliff wall like I did and is okay?”

”Right, Yizi will definitely be okay. Let’s quickly think of a way to go down and find her!” Fo Lanying was inspired and jumped up.

Jianqi had already rushed to the edge of the cliff, ”I’ll climb down to find her.”

Yuan Licheng grabbed Jianqi, ”Don’t be impulsive either. I’ll go to the temple to get some hemp rope; you can tie it around your waist before going down. If you accidentally fall, then who will go find Yizi.”

Jianqi shrugged off his hand, ”We can’t wait. What if she’s injured? We can’t afford to waste time!”

Seeing this situation, Fo Lanying dared not stand foolishly any longer, hurriedly signaling to Yuan Licheng, saying, ”You watch over here, I’ll go talk to Ruozhu.”

After speaking, she ran towards the foot of the mountain like the wind.

When Bai Ruozhu saw Fo Lanying, she immediately realized something was wrong, because Fo Lanying’s clothes were covered in dust, her eyes were red and she had tears on her face, also covered in dust.

”What’s wrong?” she hurriedly asked.

”Yizi jumped off the cliff, Jianqi wants to go down to find her, I came back to find hemp rope.” Fo Lanying felt at a loss for words.

Bai Ruozhu sprung up, telling Jiang Yichun, ”I shouldn’t have agreed to them causing a fuss, I’m going to check it out, you stay put and don’t run around.”

”Okay.” Jiang Yichun gently rubbed his eyes, knowing if he went, he would only cause more trouble.

Bai Ruozhu quickly went outside to notify the monks in the temple to help find hemp rope, asking them to find more, and since it was getting late, asked them to bring torches up.

”Speak as we walk.” Bai Ruozhu pulled Fo Lanying forward towards the mountain.

Fo Lanying explained the situation in a few sentences, making Bai Ruozhu break into a cold sweat. What’s going on here? How can young people be this reckless nowadays?

”If anything happens to Yizi, you’ll see me break your leg.” Bai Ruozhu said angrily.

Fo Lanying cried, ”No need for you to break my leg. I’ll jump off the cliff to die with her.”

Bai Ruozhu, angered, rapped Fo Lanying’s head, ”What are you saying? If it weren’t for your attitude of bringing up repayment with life or jumping off cliffs at the drop of a hat, would things have gotten this chaotic?”

Fo Lanying lowered her head, ashamed, ”I was too impulsive.”

”Jianqi also made mistakes; it’s all together. No matter how angry, he shouldn’t act so ruthlessly.” Bai Ruozhu was a bit fiery, feeling she should really give Jianqi a good talking-to later; he’s too hostile.

Fo Lanying hung her head, ”I asked Yuan Licheng to provoke him with words, he thinks Yuan Licheng is exploiting Yizi, it’s especially despicable.”

Bai Ruozhu rubbed her forehead, ”You really went too far, you crossed the line!”

”I know I was wrong. If something happens to Yizi, I’ll never forgive myself for the rest of my life.” Fo Lanying said and started crying again.

Bai Ruozhu knew she was truly regretful and frightened, felt reluctant to say much more.

But she felt Yizi should be okay, would the young girl she brought along be awful? Unless Yizi was determined to die.

From Fo Lanying’s account, she heard Yizi jumped down not long before Yuan Licheng climbed up, meaning during her descent, she likely saw Yuan Licheng was still alive, so she wouldn’t be resolute to die.

As long as she wasn’t resolute to die, she had quite a few ways to protect herself, like quickly setting up a defensive array to reduce the impact of her fall.

Of course, not worrying is foolish, as accidents can happen anytime.

When Bai Ruozhu reached the mountain top, she couldn’t see Jianqi anymore, while Yuan Licheng lay unconscious on the ground.

”Yuan Licheng!” Fo Lanying called, rushing to support him. Bai Ruozhu took a glance; he was knocked out, the injury on his shoulder wasn’t too deep.

”Apply medicine to him for bandaging, just stay here and watch over him.” Bai Ruozhu said while tossing a box of medicinal ointment to Fo Lanying.

Fo Lanying hurriedly applied the medicine to Yuan Licheng, while Bai Ruozhu moved to the cliff edge, found a safe spot, and shouted, ”Jianqi! Yizi! Can you hear me? If you can, please respond!”

Her voice echoed in the valley with reverberating responses.

”I’m descending, I’m okay!”

Jianqi’s voice sounded from below, and Bai Ruozhu estimated that he hadn’t descended much.

”Be careful, soon there will be rope, you can descend quicker.” Bai Ruozhu shouted down.

”Okay.” Jianqi’s voice sounded again, but no one heard Yizi, meaning if she wasn’t too far from everyone, and the voice couldn’t pass through, she was unable to respond at this moment.

Then footsteps sounded behind, monks arrived with hemp rope, accompanied by the head monk, Pu Zhu.

”Bai Benefactor, what’s going on? Is it serious?” Pu Zhu asked worriedly.

”My subordinate accidentally fell down, someone is already going down to find her. I thought having rope would be safer.” Bai Ruozhu didn’t mention Fo Lanying and the others’ antics because it would only cause a headache.

”Then quickly let the rope down, if it’s not enough, go and get more.” Pu Zhu instructed.

Soon monks let down the rope, and after a while Jianqi’s voice sounded, ”All set, tied up!”

Bai Ruozhu sighed in relief, thinking it would progress faster now.

The skilled warriors in martial arts films who jump down cliffs, use the cliff wall for leverage, then quickly descend to the valley, are all fake unless the cliff isn’t very high.

Now the sky had completely darkened, Bai Ruozhu again had people let down rope and hand an unlit torch and firestone to Jianqi, so when he reached the bottom, he could now light a torch to search.

Rope was added several times, Jianqi finally reached the valley bottom, untied the rope and lit the torch to search around.

”Yizi, Yizi where are you? Yuan Licheng isn’t dead, you can’t die either!” Jianqi said painfully while searching, now he hated himself, why avoid Yizi? If he hadn’t kept dodging, how could such a big mess have occurred?

He searched everywhere but didn’t see Yizi’s figure; if she fell from the cliff, she wouldn’t leave this area.

But he searched around and couldn’t see anyone, becoming increasingly anxious.
