Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2256: Chapter 2255: A Situation Unseen for a Century

Lin Ping’er immediately became excited upon hearing this and asked Bai Ruozhu, ”Did your second sister-in-law show some signs? What did you notice?”

Bai Ruozhu was secretly happy, but maintained a composed expression as she said to her mother, ”There are no signs, really. It’s just that my second brother and second sister-in-law have been married for so long, they should have some news by now. I don’t trust others, so I’d rather go take a look myself, plus Achun needs to return to the Capital City to report anyway.”

”Can’t we all return to the Capital City together?” Lin Ping’er asked.

Bai Ruozhu quickly said, ”Grandma’s health isn’t well yet, you should stay with her for a while, let her recuperate here where the air is good and the Feng Shui is excellent. And Auntie’s health, Lanlan’s health also need care. We will be traveling quickly, and with just Achun and me, we’ll save a lot of time.”

Lin Ping’er was still a bit worried, but Bai Ruozhu continued, ”Mother, you should return to the Capital City after some time, or wait for me to come get you. The current situation in the Capital City is still unstable, better to wait a bit longer.”

Lin Ping’er couldn’t say more after hearing this. Although she was still a bit concerned for her daughter and son-in-law, she agreed.

On the other side, Bai Ruozhu went to see Fo Lanying. On that day she and Yuan Licheng had been taken back to the Jiuli Clan, and with the help of Fen Jizhi and Xiu Shao, the Jiuli Clan did not trouble Yuan Licheng. The clan leader and others even went to thank Fo Lanying, acknowledging her Jiuli blood and welcoming her to stay in the Jiuli Clan.

However, Fo Lanying did not agree. With a sorrowful expression, she said, ”The world is so big, I want to see it all. I no longer like being trapped here. Just let me leave with Yuan Licheng, he did nothing to harm Jiuli. It’s my fault things ended up this way, and if he isn’t free, I won’t be at peace.”

The Su clan leader agreed immediately, knowing that Yuan Licheng, having just left seclusion, had done nothing wrong while staying with You Meng.

But Fo Lanying was in low spirits, and Bai Ruozhu knew it was because You Meng had died.

Fo Lanying had no feelings for You Meng. If you asked about her father, she would think of Fo Wen, not the Quanrong Clan Leader who threatened her.

Yet, she couldn’t deny the bond of blood, especially since You Meng’s death was somewhat connected to her.

She secretly went to see Du Fei, but begged not to tell Du Fei of You Meng’s death, fearful her mother would lose all hope.

She never met Du Fei directly, just stayed hidden, watching a few times. As for Fo Wen, the mechanical enthusiast, he seemed even more obsessed. She also watched from the shadows, not knowing how to face him, let alone how to address him.

”Do you plan to wander with Yuan Licheng in the future?” Bai Ruozhu, seeing her mood, joked.

”What nonsense!” Fo Lanying instantly revived, ”I’m not even close to him. I just don’t want to owe anyone. After saving him, we’ll go our separate ways, and we’ll have no further connection.”

Bai Ruozhu smirked, saying, ”You’re not the irresponsible type, are you? Yuan Licheng’s situation will definitely reach the Quanrong Clan. Who knows if it’s because you poisoned him or if he defected for you? He’s got no experience in River Jiang, and can’t return home. Will you really leave him be?”

”I...” Fo Lanying was torn, hearing Bai Ruozhu’s words, knowing she couldn’t just abandon Yuan Licheng.

”I’m heading to the Capital City of Danliang soon. If you have nowhere to go, you can come with me. If that’s inconvenient, you can travel around, and if you need help, you can contact me through the Commerce Association.” Bai Ruozhu suggested.

Fo Lanying pondered and said, ”Let me meet with Yuan Licheng first, and I’ll give you an answer before you leave.”

”Alright.” Bai Ruozhu smiled more warmly, noting how respectful this was to Yuan Licheng’s wishes.

Furthermore, before leaving, Bai Ruozhu went to the Peach Forest to find Feng Wuchen, who showed disappointment upon hearing she was leaving.

She didn’t want Bai Ruozhu to leave; she had no friends here, and her identity couldn’t be revealed, making it impossible to make new friends.

”Sister Ruozhu, aren’t you waiting for Xiaosi to return before leaving?” Feng Wuchen asked.

Bai Ruozhu smiled at her and said, ”I’ll have chances to meet Xiaosi again in the future; I have urgent matters and can’t stay long. When he returns, please let him know for me. If you have time, could you help guide his Martial Arts so he won’t be too weak to protect himself?”

”Sure, I’ll tell him.” Feng Wuchen, still a bit sad, had her eyes turn red despite always being so composed and strong.

Bai Ruozhu found it hard to bear, asking, ”Isn’t it odd for your place to send such a young girl here to guard?”

Feng Wuchen blushed slightly, knowing Bai Ruozhu saw through her, lowering her head, ”I wasn’t supposed to come. I insisted on it.”

No need to say, it was certainly for Xiaosi.

Bai Ruozhu didn’t make it so obvious, but she chuckled inside, feeling sympathy for the young girl, who came here just for Xiaosi but had no friends and couldn’t reveal her existence. Isn’t that lonely?

Hope Xiaosi returns soon, but Xiaosi also needs to venture out and can’t always stay in Jiuli Clan, right? Wouldn’t Feng Wuchen be alone again?

Feng Wuchen seemed a very level-headed young girl, to make such a decision meant she had thought it through. Bai Ruozhu wasn’t sure if to call her mature or steady, but both she and Xiaosi were still so young. What the future held, no one could know.

Bai Ruozhu and the others stayed with the clan for two more days, spending quality time with family and children, before packing up to depart. Little Dengdeng was very reluctant, crying several times, the child still like before, whenever wanting to cry not wanting others to see, always hiding to cry secretly. Even when unable to hold back, he forced it back, which made people really feel for him.

Bai Ruozhu couldn’t bear it, wishing she could take Little Dengdeng, but how could she continuously have him stay in Space? That wouldn’t be good for his growth, and his limited interactions were not beneficial for his development.

Little Dengdeng had his grandparents in the Jiuli Clan to care for him, with the Third Elder and others to teach him arts, he would progress fast. He would surely grow to be someone important.

Just before Bai Ruozhu left, the Su clan leader approached her.

”The night before last, something broke through the barrier, an event undocumented in over a century in the Jiuli Clan records...”
