The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 197: Chapter 197 Are You Out of Your Mind?_1

Conor Jimenez jolted with a start, his face instantly turning pale.

”Okay, Brother Eagle, I understand.”

Conor Jimenez turned to Carson Flores, his attitude a complete reversal from his earlier arrogance, and said with utmost respect, ”Mr. Flores, I’ll immediately go to Manuel Howard’s house to apologize and offer compensation. I’ll make sure to reduce any misunderstandings he has about me, and I will also persuade my brother to resign immediately.”

Carson Flores instructed, ”It’s not just about resigning, he has to cooperate with Ms. Miller. Whatever Ms. Miller wants to know, he tells, and whatever Ms. Miller wants to do, he does.”

Conor Jimenez replied respectfully, ”Yes, Mr. Flores.”

Carson Flores stood up, ”I’m leaving.”

Brendan Stein tried to keep him, ”Mr. Flores, we could say that we’ve met through a little conflict. Why not stay for a drink? Let’s become friends. How about it?”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”Today, I came to cause trouble. I’m afraid that drink wouldn’t be quite enjoyable. Let’s hold off on that drink for now. Let’s get the matters at hand resolved first, and we can have that drink another time when there’s an opportunity.”

Hearing what Carson Flores said, Brendan Stein didn’t press any further and replied cheerfully, ”Okay!”

After Carson Flores left, Conor Jimenez’s face fell, ”Brother Eagle, do we really have to listen to him?”

Brendan Stein gave Conor Jimenez a sideways glance, ”Can you beat him in a fight?”

Conor Jimenez put on a placating smile, ”Of course I can’t beat him, but don’t we still have official connections? It’s really vexing to be bullied by an outsider like this.”

Brendan Stein sneered, ”Never offend a Cultivator you can’t beat, especially to the bitter end. Today, he only dolled out a minor punishment and even gave me some face because, after all, he has no personal grudge against you or me. But if you try to deal with him using underhanded tactics, he won’t be polite next time.”

Brendan Stein poked Conor Jimenez in the chest, ”Has your brain been eaten by a dog? Carson Flores is so young and yet possesses such formidable strength. Do you think someone like that doesn’t have a family or a sect backing him up? With such strong skills, do you think they popped out of thin air? You think he can’t deal with a small fry like you, who makes a little money through crooked ways?”

After a scolding from Brendan Stein, Conor Jimenez truly understood and broke out in a cold sweat, ”Thank you for the advice, Brother Eagle. I almost made a huge mistake. I’ll take care of it right away.”

Brendan Stein instructed, ”When you call your brother, have him check Carson Flores’s identity. Who knows when we might run into him again.”

”Okay!”

...

After leaving Conor Jimenez’s company, Carson Flores made a call to Shirley Miller.

”I’ve sorted out Conor Jimenez. He will go to Manuel Howard to apologize and make amends, and Roy Jimenez will resign as the factory director. He will also cooperate with you to weed out the corrupt elements.”

Shirley Miller asked with concern, ”Nothing went wrong, did it?”

Shirley Miller had seen Carson Flores’s methods, and she couldn’t help but worry subconsciously.

Carson Flores laughed heartily, ”What could go wrong? It’s just a matter of fighting. If Roy Jimenez cooperates, I’ll let him off and not hold him accountable.”

Shirley Miller chuckled, ”Actually, I didn’t really want to hold anyone accountable in the first place. I just wanted to get rid of those parasites. It’s just that they didn’t cooperate at all, ganging up against me, dismissing me and thinking I didn’t understand the business. I had no choice but to make an example out of them. Otherwise, the factory’s atmosphere wouldn’t improve.”

Carson Flores laughed, ”Just do as you please. If you run into any trouble, just let me know. I’ll handle it.”

Shirley Miller sighed, ”I’ve found that with you, using your fists seems to resolve issues incredibly quickly and decisively, making me question myself a bit.”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”That’s because what they’re doing can’t stand the light of day. It’s illegal, and often, in the process, they’ve also resorted to violence. Like when the Jimenez brothers previously forced Manuel Howard to resign through despicable means. For such people, fighting fire with fire is always the fastest method.”

Shirley Miller laughed, ”Because the things they do can’t withstand scrutiny, so they dare not solve it legally, right?”

”That’s about the size of it.”

Carson Flores said with a grin, ”If someone acts honorably and everything they do is lawful and legitimate, then even if I could beat them, I still wouldn’t have much to do about them. I can’t exactly hold a knife to someone’s throat and force them to do something they don’t want to do.”

Shirley Miller made a sound of agreement, ”Now that we’ve found a breakthrough, are you going to continue being a security guard?”

Carson Flores answered casually, ”Lydia Howell is by your side, and she’s a woman, much more convenient than me in many ways. I’m not cut out for assistant duties, so I’ll keep being a security guard. Besides, I also need to figure out how to handle the Miller Family, like how I dealt with the pharmaceutical factory’s crowd. I need to find a weak point.”

Shirley Miller switched the topic with a tone of resignation, ”Have you had dinner yet?”

Carson Flores replied, ”I was just about to go eat.”

Shirley Miller said with a laugh, ”Then I’ll wait for you. Let’s eat together and maybe take a stroll?”
