The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 173: Chapter 173 President Liu, why go against the money? _1

The Miller Family actually really wants this cooperation slot!

Leonard Reid appeared troubled, ”Mr. Miller, you’re a bit too late with this. I’ve already decided on a partner. Besides, real estate isn’t the Miller Family’s line of business, and the Millers don’t have any assets in Polgel. My search for a partner isn’t about insufficient funds; rather, it’s about finding a local real estate company to collaborate with to solve many practical problems during the development process...”

Leonard Reid was reluctant to partner with the Miller Family. After all, with the Miller family’s strength, who would call the shots if they formed a partnership?

Although Leonard Reid was a significant figure in the province, he did not wish to cooperate with a family of cultivators, feeling like it was making a deal with a tiger.

Oscar Miller smiled lightly and was not in a hurry, ”It hasn’t been announced yet. Even if it has, as long as no contract has been signed, everything is still subject to change. The Miller family just wants the slot, not to partake in the real estate development itself.”

Leonard Reid suddenly realized, ”You want the slot for someone else?”

Oscar Miller said with a smile, ”That’s right. The real estate company I’m speaking of is a local one from Polgel. In terms of scale, qualifications, and other aspects, they are absolutely among the top in Polgel, and I assure you they won’t cause any difficulties for Mr. Reid.”

Oscar Miller spouted confidently, after all, once they had the slot, wasn’t there a plethora of companies longing for it?

Whichever company is more obedient and sensible will be chosen.

Oscar Miller’s purpose was not truly to partake in the business development, but rather to sabotage and prevent the Gilliam Family from obtaining the cooperation rights.

Carson Flores, aren’t you disrespecting me, telling me to get lost? I’ll soon bring disaster upon the Gilliam Family, leaving them with nothing!

Oscar Miller noticed Leonard Reid’s lack of enthusiasm and sweetened the deal with a smile, ”Mr. Reid, I hear you’re acquiring land in Seashore, and that lot number 43 is highly contested, with powerful competitors like Dongheng Real Estate. If you give me this favor, I can have a word with Dongheng Real Estate and have them withdraw from the bidding. Without Dongheng Real Estate, securing lot number 43 should be virtually guaranteed for you.”

Leonard Reid’s expression changed slightly. Lot number 43 was a major investment he had been preparing recently. Securing this land was crucial for his company’s development. Yet, in a talent-filled city like Seashore, even for the Real Estate King of the province, it was no easy task.

The proposition from Oscar Miller was very tempting. If the Miller family could indeed persuade Dongheng Real Estate to withdraw, then, as Oscar Miller said, the land would practically be his for the taking.

However, Leonard Reid could not agree, for he had already decided to offer the project to Haitao Real Estate.

He made this choice, not because Haitao Real Estate was particularly impressive, but because the CEO of Haitao Real Estate, Adan Gilliam, had a beautiful daughter. This beautiful daughter had a boyfriend named Carson Flores.

Carson Flores had once saved Leonard Reid’s grandson’s life. Carson Flores provided invaluable guidance to Leonard Reid, aiding him in dealing with a powerful adversary. For this, Leonard Reid was grateful and resolved to befriend Carson Flores.

Giving money directly, Carson Flores wouldn’t accept.

Offering houses, cars, and women, Carson Flores was indifferent.

Unable to find a direct way to make Carson Flores owe him a favor, Leonard Reid had changed tactics and decided to grant the project to Adan Gilliam – Carson Flores’s prospective father-in-law.

If Adan Gilliam landed this cooperation slot, Carson Flores would gain face in front of his girlfriend and firm footing within his future father-in-law’s household. Carson Flores couldn’t refuse such a favor.

With this favor at hand, wasn’t there bound to be more opportunities for further connection?

Leonard Reid spoke apologetically, ”Mr. Miller, I’m truly sorry about this, but since I’ve already made a promise to someone else, I must keep my word. Otherwise, it would ruin the little reputation I have. If you are genuinely interested in a partnership, I have several other projects that we could definitely collaborate on.”

Oscar Miller’s expression changed subtly; he had not expected Westley Reid to decline so resolutely.

The thought that lot number 43 was so crucial yet failed to tempt him?

Oscar Miller frowned a little, ”Mr. Reid, let’s speak frankly. Is the slot meant for Haitao Real Estate?”

Leonard Reid was not surprised and nodded slightly, ”Correct.”

Oscar Miller stared into Leonard Reid’s eyes, ”Haitao Real Estate isn’t particularly outstanding amongst Polgel’s companies. You’re choosing Haitao Real Estate not for the company’s strength but because of... Carson Flores?”

Surprise flickered in Leonard Reid’s eyes as he readily admitted, ”Correct, Mr. Flores treated my grandson’s illness, saved his life. This initiative is to repay that debt, which is why I can’t agree to your proposal, Mr. Miller.”

Oscar Miller was taken aback; so Carson Flores could also treat illnesses? And it seemed he was quite adept?

With Leonard Reid laying his cards on the table, Oscar Miller decided to do the same, ”The Miller Family, Carson Flores, and the Gilliam Family have some disagreements. There’s bound to be disputes later on. Partnering with them could bring trouble midway through your project, affecting the entire process. It would be better to let me recommend a real estate company that is superior to Haitao Real Estate in every respect... Mr. Reid, why fight against profit, right?”
