The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 189: Chapter 189: If You Want to Play, I’ll Accompany You_1

”Carson Flores, this is Knox Miller.”

Carson Flores leaned back in his chair, his expression calm, not the least bit surprised. After all, he had hit the son, and now the father had come—wasn’t that to be expected?

”Hmm, what’s the matter?”

Knox Miller’s voice was steady. ”I am aware of the matters with the James Family, Woolery Family, and Browning Family. My son Oscar acted rashly and had a conflict with you. I want to ask you, how do you want to resolve this?”

Carson Flores replied with a composed smile, ”What do you suggest we do about it, Miller Family Head?”

Knox Miller answered calmly, ”Oscar struck at you, but you also killed Wesley Roth. How about we let bygones be bygones? You don’t hold a grudge either, and we stop here?”

Carson Flores laughed, ”Wesley Roth was just a more formidable hitman, unsavory as it may sound, he was but a tool, not representing much. His death at my hands is due to his lack of strength; he deserved it. As for Oscar Miller, the mastermind of everything, shouldn’t he pay a price?”

Knox Miller’s tone turned cold, ”His hand was broken by you.”

Carson Flores’s tone was equally harsh, ”Had he succeeded, my girlfriend would have been dishonored, and I would have been beaten to death. Do you think breaking an arm is enough?”

Knox Miller chuckled coldly, ”I know you are Andrew’s disciple, and Andrew is indeed formidable. But that doesn’t mean the Miller Family is afraid of him. I also know you are a practitioner of the Gang Qi Realm. We have practitioners of the Gang Qi Realm as well, more than one, in fact. If you want to play, the Miller Family will accompany you.”

Carson Flores responded sharply, ”Fine, let’s play then.”

Knox Miller nodded, ”Alright, since both sides have their respective supporters, I assume neither wants their family and friends to suffer unexpected misfortune. Shall we follow the rules of cultivators, then?”

Carson Flores readily agreed, ”Sure, but let me remind you, Shirley Miller and Samantha Tate are very close sisters.”

Knox Miller said coldly, ”Don’t worry, the Miller Family won’t resort to direct violence against them. However, competition in business is inevitable.”

Carson Flores said with a smile, ”Business competition is all about capability, but if you use any despicable tactics against them personally, heh, the Miller Family has many members. Don’t blame me if I go crazy.”

Knox Miller sneered, ”I’ll be waiting.”

Carson Flores put down his phone and smiled.

Indeed, the one with shoes fears the barefoot. Knox Miller, as the head of the Miller Family, wasn’t afraid of Carson Flores himself, but he was wary of Carson Flores acting recklessly, especially knowing Carson’s master’s background, he was even more afraid of his master causing trouble out of anger, something the Miller Family couldn’t withstand.

When Knox Miller said ”both sides have their respective supporters,” it meant two things. One was that both sides know each other’s background and have their own connections. The second meant that both sides have their loved ones to consider—much of the Miller Family are ordinary people, and on Carson’s side, Shirley Miller and Samantha Tate’s family are ordinary people too. The implication was, we both have our backgrounds, our concerns, so don’t act recklessly.

The rules of cultivators he mentioned were simple: all grievances, disputes, or fights should be limited to cultivators. Cultivators are not to harm ordinary people directly; if they need to deal with them, they have to use ordinary means and follow ordinary rules, otherwise, for a cultivator to simply erase an ordinary person from existence would be far too easy.

Conflicts between cultivators are typically divided into two scenarios. One is to fight for victory, with the limit being crippling the cultivator’s abilities without killing. The other is a life-and-death battle, where they fight until one party dies or completely surrenders, thus ending the fight.

Knox Miller did not specify which rule to follow, and Carson Flores didn’t ask. They would just wait and see what happened.

If both sides exercise restraint, it will be a battle for supremacy based on who is stronger or who wins. If someone is killed, they will fight with all their might until one is left standing.

Carson Flores’s goal was to topple the entire Miller Family, not to simply kill a particular cultivator. He dared not directly bring up the grudge from 27 years ago. From Wesley Roth’s reaction, he knew that the Miller Family was definitely in the know, possibly even the culprits.

If Carson Flores mentioned that matter, his appearance and age would immediately lead the Miller Family to suspect his identity.

If the Miller Family knew Carson Flores’s identity, then his opponents might instantly include several powerful families that would join forces without mercy to kill him.

For this reason, Carson Flores could not expose himself. He had to wait until he held an absolute advantage over the Miller Family, ensuring they had no power to struggle or fight back before he could ask the questions in his heart and pursue the truth of the matter.

When Knox Miller proposed the terms, Carson Flores was actually relieved. After all, he was worried that the Miller Family might target Shirley Miller or the Gilliam Family. Of course, Knox Miller was also afraid of Carson Flores targeting the Miller Family.

With mutual wariness, the struggle would have a bottom line, and that was what Carson Flores had hoped for. He had no intention of harming ordinary people in the Miller Family for revenge, nor did he want harm to come to those around him.

Carson Flores called Shirley Miller, ”Knox Miller just gave me a call. The battle between us and the Miller Family has begun.”
