The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 170: Chapter 170: A Talented Individual, How Can His Thoughts Be So Malicious?_1

”Mr. Miller, you really know how to joke.”

Adan Gilliam’s smile had already become somewhat strained, ”Mr. Miller and Samantha have never met, how could you jump to talking about marriage?”

Oscar Miller laughed, ”I’m not joking, I’m serious. Although it is the first time Samantha and I met, I have long been very clear about her details, which school she attended from childhood, her friends, the things she has done—I know it all very clearly.”

Fear grew in Adan Gilliam’s heart, and as a man, he could somewhat guess at Oscar Miller’s intentions.

He was doing this because of Shirley Miller!

Shirley was his cousin, so there were things he couldn’t do to her, but he could to Samantha!

He was related by blood to Shirley but had no relationship whatsoever with Samantha.

Shirley and Samantha looked almost exactly alike!

This guy has twisted thoughts!

Although Adan Gilliam had previously interfered with his daughter’s marriage, his starting point was still hoping his daughter would have a good future.

The Miller Family’s wealth was unquestionably substantial, and if it weren’t for the connection to Shirley, Oscar Miller, as the future heir to the Miller Family, was rich, powerful, handsome, and talented. Adan would be laughing himself awake from his dreams if such a man wanted to marry Samantha.

But with the connection to Shirley, Adan naturally knew that what Oscar Miller said about marrying his daughter was false; he just wanted to toy with her as revenge against Shirley. As a father, how could he agree?

While Adan Gilliam was thinking about how to tactfully refuse, Emma White, who was beside him, already spoke with a cold face, ”My daughter already has a boyfriend, and they are very much in love, and they will marry in the future. Please leave.”

Oscar Miller pointed his chin towards Carson Flores in the distance, ”Is that him?”

Panic rose in Adan’s heart; if this guy could come up with such a vile plot, he obviously wasn’t a good person. If he refused him, would he use some method to harm his daughter or Carson?

Adan was very aware of the Miller Family’s influence; if they wanted to target someone, the most likely outcome for that person was to vanish without a trace.

Although he had some reservations about Carson, after all, he had saved the old man and was his daughter’s beloved. He certainly didn’t want Carson to be targeted by Oscar Miller.

”Yes, that’s him.”

Adan Gilliam’s tone was softly pleading, ”Mr. Miller, I am aware of the misfortune within the Miller Family in the past, but that is internal competition within the Miller Family, there’s no need to involve outsiders, right?”

Adan’s words were essentially telling Oscar Miller, I know about the dirty laundry from your family’s infighting, and I know you’re targeting Shirley, but how you target her is your business. We won’t interfere, nor will we, but please don’t drag the Gilliam Family into this.

Oscar Miller smiled faintly, insisting, ”But I truly like Samantha Tate, it’s love at first sight. Mr. Gilliam, won’t you help me out? If Samantha and I are together, you’ll be my father-in-law in the future. As your son-in-law, I would naturally do my utmost to assist you. For Seashore Real Estate to leave Polgel and gain a foothold in the province, that’s all easily done—you know, the entire Miller Family’s future is up to me, and what I say now counts.”

Sweat beaded on Adan Gilliam’s forehead, and he realized that Oscar Miller was doing this on purpose.

He was using his power to pressure him!

Even though he hadn’t explicitly mentioned how he would retaliate if Adan didn’t agree, the outcome was obviously foreseeable!

He was forcing Adan to agree, or else suffer the consequences!

Even though Emma White had married into the Gilliam Family, she also knew the Miller Family’s feuds and that the man before them was someone the Gilliam Family couldn’t afford to provoke. However, seeing Oscar Miller’s aggressive approach, Emma, as a mother, couldn’t hold back any longer and sneered, ”Whether it’s love at first sight, you know it in your heart. You look like a talented gentleman, but how can your thoughts be so malicious? I’ll tell you again, my daughter has a boyfriend, and even if she didn’t, I wouldn’t agree!”

Adan Gilliam’s face turned pale, Emma’s words were akin to openly ripping off the facade.

”Mr. Miller, my wife speaks frankly; don’t mind her. We only have one daughter, and we’ve spoiled her since childhood. When it comes to her marriage, what we say doesn’t count; it all depends on her own decision. Carson is the boyfriend she chose herself, and we can’t interfere, so even if we agree, it’s no use...”

Just as Adan Gilliam hadn’t finished speaking, the sound of high-heeled sandals striking the ground rang out, and Samantha’s voice emerged beside them, ”Dad, Mom, what’s happened?”

Adan Gilliam turned his head and saw his daughter clinging onto Carson’s arm as she walked over, her face full of confusion.

Adan Gilliam forced a smile, ”We’re just chatting. You and Carson don’t like socializing, go have fun.”

Carson glanced at Emma White, who was cold-faced and angry, and then at Adan Gilliam whose forehead was drenched in sweat, and quickly got a rough idea of the situation. He turned his gaze to Oscar Miller, ”This gentleman looks somewhat familiar, how should I address you?”

Oscar Miller’s eyes landed on Carson’s face, and he said with a light smile, ”Funny, I also felt you looked familiar. Have we met before?”

Seeing that the two had started to converse, Adan naturally couldn’t ask Carson and Samantha to leave. He reluctantly introduced them, ”This is Mr. Oscar Miller from the Miller Family of Seashore. Mr. Miller, this is Carson Flores, my daughter’s boyfriend.”
