Chapter 169: Chapter 169: Oscar Miller Wants to Marry Samantha Tate?_1

”Miss Gilliam looks so beautiful today, she’s the brightest star of the whole event.”

”Mr. Reid, you flatter me.”

Leonard Reid greeted Adan Gilliam with enthusiasm and praised Samantha Tate, only resting his gaze upon Carson Flores last.

”Mr. Flores, hello.”

Carson Flores responded with a smile, ”Hello, Mr. Reid.”

Leonard Reid chuckled and turned back to engage with Adan Gilliam.

When he had called Carson Flores on the phone, Carson had mentioned that he didn’t like to stand out and preferred to be treated as an ordinary guest.

Although Leonard Reid really wanted to receive Carson Flores warmly and with great honor, he was even more intent on respecting Carson’s wishes.

Previously, when Leonard Reid had contacted him using the phone number provided by Carson, he was told to wait three days for news. However, in just two days, he received a call telling him that the target was already dead.

Without the protection of that dangerous Cultivator, Leonard Reid’s people smoothly took down the mastermind behind the curse on his grandson, settling that grudge.

Following this incident, Carson Flores gained another label in Leonard Reid’s mind besides ”master of the medical arts.”

Unfathomable.

Not far away, Oscar Miller’s eyes landed on Samantha Tate’s delicate, enticing, and familiar face, his gaze burning with intensity.

Samantha Tate!

This beauty must be Shirley Miller’s cousin; no need to guess, the face almost identical to hers was the answer.

Eva Garber whispered nearby, ”That’s the owner of Seashore Real Estate, Adan Gilliam and his wife, and behind them is Samantha Tate...”

Oscar Miller turned his head, frowning slightly, ”Is Seashore Real Estate very impressive?”

Eva Garber answered, ”It’s of average scale, not particularly outstanding.”

Oscar Miller curiously asked, ”Why is Leonard Reid so enthusiastic about them? Adan Gilliam seems quite cautious... Who is that man?”

Eva Garber shook her head, ”I don’t know, but he seems somewhat familiar.”

Oscar Miller nodded and said, ”Huh, do you feel that way too? I felt like I’ve seen this person before when I first looked at him, but I can’t recall where... Is he Samantha Tate’s boyfriend?”

Eva Garber looked puzzled, ”I don’t know. According to our investigation, Samantha Tate is single.”

”Then let’s go ask.”

As Oscar Miller examined Carson Flores, Carson felt it and swept his gaze over, their eyes meeting in mid-air.

Although Carson Flores and Oscar Miller had just exchanged glances across the span of about thirty floors in the dark of night, with faces that were naturally unclear, Carson also felt the same sense of familiarity when he saw Oscar Miller.

Have I seen this person before?

Why does he seem somehow familiar?

”Brother, let’s go sit over there,”

Samantha Tate, not wanting to engage in any form of socializing, had pulled Carson over to one side immediately after entering.

Their posture was close and unguarded.

This scene caught the eye of Oscar Miller, and he felt a flicker of annoyance stir within him.

How had someone else beaten him to it?

Looking over at the two sitting closely and chatting intimately, Oscar Miller turned his head and saw Adan Gilliam and his wife busy socializing. He then walked over to them.

”Mr. Gilliam, hello.”

Adan Gilliam turned, and looking at the elegant figure of Oscar Miller, his eyes filled with a hint of confusion, ”And you are?”

Oscar Miller smiled, ”I am Oscar Miller, my father is Paul Miller, of the Seashore Miller family.”

Adan Gilliam’s expression changed. His daughter and Shirley Miller from the Miller Group were cousins and very close, so naturally, Adan knew of the misfortune that had befallen the Miller family.

Wasn’t the death of Shirley Miller’s parents because they lost to Paul Miller in a competition, ultimately suspected to have been harmed by Paul himself?

”Hello, Mr. Miller.”

Adan Gilliam felt somewhat numb inside; why was Oscar Miller suddenly seeking him out? What could he want?

He had no ties with the Miller family.

Was it because his daughter was close to Shirley Miller, and now Oscar Miller was coming to settle scores?

At this thought, Adan Gilliam suddenly felt panicked. The power of the Miller family was well known to him—they could crush the Gilliam family with but a single word.

Oscar Miller smiled faintly, ”Mr. Gilliam, no need to be nervous. I am Shirley Miller’s cousin, and Samantha Tate is her cousin, which I suppose makes us relatives too. You’re also my elder, aren’t you?”

Relatives?

Adan Gilliam took Oscar Miller’s polite words not seriously at all but was instead extremely cautious, his face showing a humble and formal smile, ”Our blood relation with Shirley Miller’s mother’s side of the family goes beyond three generations, so the connection is already distant. As for a relation with the Miller family, that’s an even longer stretch. I dare not assume the role of your elder, and I certainly do not dare to reach so high... Mr. Miller, do you need something from me?”

Oscar Miller’s handsome face showed a genial smile, ”Now that you put it that way, it seems reasonable. Upon closer thought, it appears that aside from Shirley Miller and her daughter, the Miller family indeed has no real connection to the Gilliam family...”

Adan Gilliam breathed a sigh of relief and quickly nodded, ”Right, right, right, there’s not much of a connection, each of us should mind our own.”

Oscar Miller chuckled softly, ”Since my Miller family and the Gilliam family have no close ties, then my liking Samantha Tate and wanting to marry her should seem very normal and entirely reasonable, shouldn’t it?”

Adan Gilliam’s face went pale, his eyes filled with alarm as sweat suddenly beaded on his forehead.

Oscar Miller wanted to marry Samantha Tate?
