The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 190: Chapter 190: You and my sister? What’s the situation?_1

”Ah!”

In the Howell Family estate, Lydia Howell’s agonizing screams were incessant, causing the brows of the Howell family members to tremble incessantly.

”How painful must it be? She’s been screaming for days.”

”Lydia Howell is such a proud person, to cry out so shamelessly, it must really hurt!”

”I heard Mr. Flores is helping her with her Breakthrough. If that’s true, then this Mr. Flores is quite remarkable.”

”It’s not that easy, as far as I know. The various expensive medicinal materials bought recently, along with all sorts of strange and unusual items, have already cost tens of millions.”

”That’s only to be expected. If Lydia Howell can breakthrough to the Gang Qi Realm, what’s a mere tens of millions? As long as Lydia Howell doesn’t fall, anyone who wants to deal with the Howell Family will have to think twice.”

In the garden’s spacious cabin, Lydia Howell was completely submerged in a tub, the boiling water relentlessly assaulting every single pore, making her feel like a pig being scalded for hair removal.

She was only wearing an undergarment, just enough to cover her modesty, and her skin was no longer pale as jade, but rather, red as a newborn baby’s.

Lydia Howell was nearly driven mad.

Why did it hurt so much?

This was no ordinary ’boiled frog’ scenario— it was as if numerous cuts had been made on the frog’s body, then sprinkled with salt before being plunged into boiling water and finally, a large basin of diced hot peppers was poured in...

Endure it!

Thinking of breaking through, Lydia Howell was once again filled with endless courage.

She wasn’t going to die, so let the pain be.

Carson Flores sat casually in a chair next to her, playing with his phone, as if he hadn’t heard anything.

The method he was using for Lydia’s Breakthrough was a very unconventional one— simply put, it used pain to stimulate the potential of life and then used medicinal herbs as fuel to help with the Breakthrough.

Pain was inevitable. Carson Flores had suffered through this himself, and he knew it well.

But it was worth it.

Every day, Lydia Howell would faint from exhaustion in the bathtub. Each time she fainted, Carson Flores would wring her out of the water, throw her on the bed for a brief rest, and after regaining her energy, a new round would start.

After torturing her for five days, like usual, Lydia Howell sat cross-legged in the tub, frantically circulating her Inner Qi. Suddenly, it felt like something exploded within her body, and her Inner Qi burst forth uncontrollably.

With a loud bang, the bathtub shattered.

Water splashed everywhere, and Lydia Howell’s seated figure was revealed.

Carson Flores put down his phone, and smiling at an ecstatic Lydia Howell, he said, ”Congratulations!”

Lydia Howell with her beautiful eyes wide open, an incredulous look on her face: ”Have I broken through just like that?”

Carson Flores smiled and replied, ”Yes, your talent and foundation are both very solid. You were just missing that final push. I was merely the last to lend a hand. Over the next two days, you should get familiar with it, and then we’ll head to Seashore.”

Lydia Howell agreed crisply: ”Sure!”

Carson Flores stood up: ”I’m off... no need to walk me out; you’re not dressed for it.”

Lydia Howell glanced down and her face instantly reddened slightly.

Although she was wearing swimwear, covering the most private parts, everything else was exposed under Carson Flores’s gaze, not to mention that over the last couple of days, he had carried her many times out of the water.

Even though Lydia Howell was always proud and had a forthright personality, she couldn’t help but feel a little shy at this moment.

Who could blame her? He was her savior and so skilled, so handsome. Thinking of battling side by side with Carson Flores, Lydia Howell couldn’t help but feel a sense of anticipation.

...

”Why have you come back so early today?”

Shirley Miller looked at Carson Flores as he walked into the room with a slightly surprised expression.

Carson Flores smiled: ”Lydia Howell has successfully advanced, so I came back.”

Shirley Miller’s eyes brightened: ”She succeeded?”

Carson Flores nodded: ”We can set off for Seashore now. With Lydia Howell and me, even if we face the Cultivator masters of the Miller Family head-on, if we can’t beat them, we can certainly escape.”

Shirley Miller looked at Carson Flores: ”Next Monday?”

”Yes!”

After setting a departure date with Shirley Miller for Seashore, the next day, Carson Flores gave Samantha Tate a call.

”Next Monday, I’m going to Seashore.”

Samantha Tate was overjoyed. Once at Seashore, she could live with Carson Flores openly, no more need to hide!

”Great, shall we go together?”

Carson Flores smiled: ”I’ll be traveling with Ms. Miller, and we’ll go straight to the pharmaceutical plant.”

Samantha Tate was momentarily stunned: ”My sister? What’s the situation?”

Carson Flores laughed: ”I spoke with Oscar Miller’s father, Knox Miller. Oscar has been secretly working against the Miller Group. He sought the Woolery Family to confront your sister because of you. I crippled the Woolery Family, inadvertently helping your sister. Then he turned to the Browning Family, and because I knew the Howell folks, I wiped out the Browning Family, helping your sister once more...”

Carson Flores couldn’t explain to Samantha Tate about his engagement with Shirley Miller, so he could only explain it this way.

His confrontation with the Woolery Family was actually because Ronin Woolery had troubled Samantha Tate, and it was only after Carson Flores went to their doorstep that he accidentally learned that the Woolery Family was planning against Shirley Miller; otherwise, he would have been in the dark as well.

As for the Browning Family, it was indeed because they had moved against Shirley Miller, but the real reason they were wiped out was because Raelynn Howell had sought help.

With everyone from the Browning Family gathered together, how could Carson Flores miss that opportunity?

Samantha Tate was bewildered: ”What a
