The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 167: Chapter 167 Why is everything going wrong?_1

”I only know that the person’s name is Carson Flores, young, around twenty-six or twenty-seven, drives a BMW X5, and that’s about it—I’m not clear on anything else.”

Oscar Miller looked incredulous, ”Are the people of the Browning Family idiots? Their entire family got wiped out, yet they don’t know who exactly did it?”

Beau Compton explained, ”I asked the survivors of the Browning Family and it was their first time seeing this person. They only knew him as Carson Flores because that’s what Mr. Browning called him, but from their conversations, it seemed Mr. Browning and Carson Flores had some unresolved issues. Then Mr. Browning got killed by Carson Flores, so they don’t really know what happened.”

With confusion written all over his face, Oscar Miller asked, ”Start from the beginning and tell me everything. How did the Browning Family just disappear like that? Did this Carson Flores pop out of a crack in a rock or something?”

Beau Compton recounted last night’s incident where the Browning Family had invited Jamie Webb to deal with the Howell Family. Oscar Miller’s eyes widened in surprise as he said, ”Carson Flores killed the crazed Jamie Webb? Jamie Webb was very strong, is this guy really that formidable?”

Beau Compton nodded, ”Indeed, he took on eight or nine men from the Browning Family by himself and slaughtered them all cleanly—he’s a killing star, doesn’t even blink when he kills.”

Oscar Miller suddenly felt a headache coming on, ”I ordered the Browning Family to deal with Shirley Miller, but how did it go from that to them attacking the Howell Family and then them being wiped out? How can this be such a coincidence?”

Presley Compton said in a helpless tone, ”Yes, it’s quite the coincidence. Now that the Browning Family is gone, what should we do about Shirley Miller?”

Oscar Miller said angrily, ”How can it be so difficult to deal with a woman who couldn’t even truss a chicken? Let me think about it. You go and investigate this Carson Flores who came out of nowhere, see what his background is.”

Oscar Miller truly didn’t know who Carson Flores was.

He had seen Carson Flores just once when Carson made a life-saving leap at the Dragon Tripod Hotel. Oscar Miller just happened to be there and caught a distant glimpse of Carson Flores in the midst of the excitement.

His secretary, Eva Garber, had asked him then if he wanted to recruit Carson, but Oscar Miller thought since Carson had provoked the Woolery Family, he was as good as dead and gave up any intention of further contact.

After the sudden misfortune that befell the Woolery Family, and with the Woolery Family keeping tight-lipped under Lonnie Woolery’s strict orders, Oscar Miller naturally didn’t know that it was Carson Flores who had killed Rhys Woolery.

This time, it was Boston Browning who encountered Shirley Miller and Carson Flores dining together; it was Mr. Browning who ordered the attack. This means that the only ones from the Browning Family who knew about the relationship between Carson Flores and Shirley Miller were Mr. Browning, Boston Browning, and Cannon Browning.

In the battle with the Howell Family, both Mr. Browning and Boston Browning died, Cannon Browning ended up incapacitated in the hospital, and other family members didn’t know about the matter. Furthermore, given the drastic change in the Browning Family’s situation, everyone was looking out for themselves, who would remember him?

Carson Flores had engaged Oscar Miller from afar several times due to various coincidences, and yet Oscar Miller was completely unaware of Carson Flores’ existence!

Oscar Miller hung up the phone with a grim expression on his face.

He had sought Brian James to take action, and Brian James and his son had died.

He had turned to the Woolery Family, and the Family Head had been killed; the Woolery Family had declined to act on his behalf again.

He had sent the Browning Family, and wow, the entire Browning Family got wiped out even more tragically.

Of the three great Practitioner Families in Polgel, only the Howell Family remained. But the Howell Family was notoriously stubborn, not to mention that they had many injured at the moment, and now they were tied to the inexplicable, skilled Carson Flores—they definitely wouldn’t give face to him and deal with Shirley Miller for him.

This infuriated Oscar Miller to no end. Was he truly expected to take matters into his own hands?

Oscar Miller didn’t care about that agreement in the least—if he secretly wiped out Shirley Miller, who would know?

It was his own pride that prevented him from taking action. Considering having to personally deal with a woman as weak and defenseless as Shirley Miller, it was simply too embarrassing.

If word of this got out, being scolded by his family elders would be the least of his worries; he was likely to become a laughingstock to others as well.

What a stroke of bad luck!

Why is nothing going well since coming to Polgel?

Oscar Miller was boiling with rage but didn’t know how to vent it when he suddenly remembered something and turned his head to ask, ”We’ve got results from the investigation into Shirley Miller’s cousin, right?”

Eva Garber wrapped her arms around Oscar Miller from behind and said tenderly, ”We’ve found out. Her cousin is Samantha Tate, an only child. Her family owns a real estate company called Ocean Wave Real Estate, and she has her own beauty salon. She looks almost exactly like Shirley Miller and is very close to her.”

Oscar Miller’s eyes lit up, ”Exactly alike?”

Eva Garber nodded; she knew what was going through Oscar Miller’s mind: ”Yes, but Samantha Tate and Shirley Miller have completely different temperaments. Shirley Miller comes off as aloof, while Samantha Tate has a seductive allure.”

Oscar Miller’s gaze turned passionate, ”Good, very good, it seems I need to take a couple of days to deal with this Samantha Tate personally. The reaction from Shirley Miller when she hears the news is bound to be interesting.”

After a pause, Oscar Miller stroked his chin, ”How should I approach her?”

Eva Garber said with a charming smile, ”The Real Estate King, Leonard Reid, is throwing a gala to announce the partners for the Polgel Business Center development and has invited many guests, including the Gilliam Family. Samantha Tate is sure to attend, so perhaps taking action during this event is an excellent opportunity.”

Oscar Miller replied with a smile, ”That’s a good idea. Contact Leonard Reid for me, I will go charm him a bit. I’ll make an appearance then, haha, I’m suddenly quite looking forward to it!”
