The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 162: Chapter 162: Should I just admit defeat, okay?_1

Carson Flores and Jamie Webb both flew backwards simultaneously, their feet dragging two long marks across the grass on the ground.

Under the lamplight, the two men stood five meters apart, steadying themselves at the same time.

The light shone on their bodies but failed to illuminate their faces, leaving large patches of shadow.

The onlooking crowd was filled with confusion and uncertainty. What exactly had happened between the two men?

Who had won?

The last punch and palm strike aimed at each other’s hearts were seen by everyone, causing hearts to race with anticipation.

Whether it was the Howell Family or the Browning Family, they had all realized something.

The battle between Jamie Webb and Carson Flores would determine tonight’s outcome, deciding whether the Browning Family or the Howell Family would be victorious.

”Pfft!”

Suddenly, Jamie Webb spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, clutching his chest and sneering, ”In this life, I’ve killed countless men, and I’ve had my fill. If I can drag you to the grave with me today, I haven’t lost anything.”

Carson said indifferently, ”You’re thinking too much. The only one dying is you.”

Jamie Webb’s eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at Carson, ”Impossible! I hit you directly in the chest with all my strength with my Poisonous Palm. You can’t possibly block it.”

Carson looked down at his chest where his T-shirt had been ripped open by the strike, revealing several tears. He brushed off his chest, ”Your Poisonous Palm is indeed formidable, but that is all it is.”

Seeing Carson’s composure, Jamie Webb wore an expression of disbelief, ”How is that possible! How can you be unharmed!”

Carson watched Jamie Webb silently.

Jamie Webb’s gaze was fixed on Carson, but his expression suddenly changed to one of terror and disbelief. He murmured in a low voice, ”That palm strike was so fierce, how could it not hurt you? That’s the heart—unless... unless you’ve reached the level where Inner Qi becomes Gang Qi, and you’re shielded by it...”

Carson spoke calmly, ”You’re not too stupid; no need to die confused.”

Jamie Webb stumbled, his face a mix of despair and regret, blood spilling from his mouth. He wanted to say something, but the continual flow of blood filled his throat.

Jamie Webb fell down, gazing at the dark night sky as he waited for death to claim him.

With Jamie Webb’s fall, the Howell family was elated, while the faces of the Browning Family turned ashen.

The skilled fighter they’d paid for had been killed!

It was over!

They were completely finished now!

The Family Head of the Brownings paled, panic setting in his heart.

Carson Flores was so young; how could he be so powerful?

Was he a demon?

The strongest, Jamie Webb, was dead. The remaining members of the Browning Family were undoubtedly no match for Carson. Now, the only option was to bend the knee, accept defeat, and submit to whatever punishment was meted out!

The Family Head of the Brownings conceded straightforwardly, ”Alright, you’re formidable. Today, the Browning Family admits defeat. Just say the word—how can we resolve this matter?”

Carson spoke lightly, ”You sent men to attack us before, and just now you hired someone to kill me. If it weren’t for my ability to fight, I’d be dead twice over by now. So tell me, how should we settle this?”

The Family Head of the Brownings knew this couldn’t end well, ”If you’ve already crippled my nephew and killed Boston Browning, my family has paid a price. Now, I’m willing to offer one billion as compensation for your emotional distress. How about that?”

Carson laughed, ”One billion is quite a lot indeed. But since you targeted me and wanted my life, if I agreed to that, wouldn’t it look like my life is only worth one billion?”

The Browning Family Head’s heart sank, ”Then tell me, what will it take to put this matter behind us?”

Carson’s gaze turned cold, ”Attempted murder naturally requires a price to be paid. I once heard a saying over the phone—’after today, the Howell Family will be no more.’ I think this phrase suits the Browning Family well.”

His face draining of color, the Browning Family Head gasped, ”Do you intend to annihilate the Browning Family?”

Carson sneered, ”A wounded snake will bite back. You, as the Family Head, approved all these actions, so you must die. If you commit suicide, and the others cripple their own cultivation, I might spare their lives.”

The Family Head’s expression darkened, ”Don’t push us too far. We have many people in the Browning Family, and you are only one man. No matter how strong you are, if it really comes to a fight, it’s not certain who the victor will be.”

Julia Howell, who had been watching the fight, stepped forward, ”How could Mr. Flores be alone? Do you think we of the Howell Family are all dead?”

All the capable Cultivators of the Howell Family stood up, ready for battle.

Carson saved the Howell Family and was about to annihilate the Browning Family. Whether out of gratitude or consideration for the future, the Howell Family had an obligation to join this fight.

The Family Head clenched his teeth, ”There’s really no room for negotiation, Carson Flores? Must it be a fight to the death, a mutual destruction?”

Carson beckoned with his hand, ”Come on, no need for dilly-dallying, wasting time. This was destined from the moment you moved against me.”

Seeing no other way out, the Family Head hardened his heart and bellowed, ”In today’s battle, either he dies or we do. Attack together—kill him, go!”
