_1 “Ding”

The elevator doors opened, and Carson Flores snapped back from his thoughts, swiftly walking out of the elevator without looking back.

Shirley Miller and Samantha Tate walked out arm in arm, and Samantha Tate, one to always take initiative, asked, “Sis, the guy from just now, do you know him?”

Shirley Miller’s heart tightened, and she deflected casually, “I don’t know him; he’s probably an employee of the company.”

Samantha Tate breathed a sigh of relief; if it were before the camping trip, Samantha Tate would definitely tell Shirley Miller that this man was the fake boyfriend she had found because she had already mentioned to Shirley Miller about the fake boyfriend and the treatment of their grandfather.

But now, Samantha Tate didn’t want to say anything.

If she told her that this man was her fake boyfriend, an exceptional healer with explosive strength, a lone warrior against a pack of wolves who also saved her life, she would surely become curious about him, right?

She was Carson Flores’s superior; if she got any ideas, wouldn’t it be ‘first come, first served’ for her, and wouldn’t that be the end of me?

Absolutely not a word!

For now, in her sister’s eyes, Carson Flores was just an ordinary employee, so let him remain ordinary.

Luckily, Carson Flores reacted quickly.

If he had casually called me Samantha, I wouldn’t have been able to explain.

While Samantha Tate was internally resolute, Shirley Miller was also making a decision.

I absolutely cannot let Samantha notice anything!

Otherwise, it would just be too embarrassing.

Luckily, Carson Flores didn’t open his mouth.

If he had called my name, I would have definitely given the game away!

Samantha Tate laughed and said offhandedly, “The employees at your company sure have an attitude, considering a mere nod as a greeting to their boss.”

Shirley Miller continued to bluff with a smile, “Maybe he’s a new employee.

Young people these days, they respect you as a leader during work hours, but after work, who cares?”

Both of them broke into laughter.

As Shirley Miller looked at Samantha Tate’s smile that almost mirrored her own, a sudden thought flashed through her mind—Carson Flores, upon their first meeting, said he looked at her chest and claimed she clung to him.

Could it be that he mistook her for Samantha?

Carson Flores looked at Samantha’s chest?

This thought barely lasted a second in Shirley Miller’s mind before she discarded it.

How could that be possible?

If this guy had really looked at Samantha’s chest, would Samantha let it go so easily?

Would she not recognize him upon seeing him just now?

Anyway, in three months, he and I will be strangers.

Let him do whatever he wants, as long as he doesn’t drag me into it!

“Let’s go, I know a place with beef soup pot that’s really delicious.

I’ll take you to try it!”

“Sure!”

…

Carson Flores left the hospital and then turned back for a glance, letting out a sigh of relief.

Oh my!

That was embarrassing!

And frightening!

To think such coincidences could happen.

Should I explain things to the two of them?

Carson Flores thought it over and decided not to explain.

All three of them had met, and as best friends, they chose not to explain, which clearly meant they did not want the other to know about their relationship with him, so why should he be the bad guy?

A fake husband, a fake boyfriend; at the end of the day, it’s all fake.

In three months, I might leave this place, so naturally, everything will cease to exist.

Just go with the flow.

After lunch, Carson Flores returned to the company and received a message from Samantha Tate.

“Can’t believe you actually work at my cousin’s company, that’s too much of a coincidence!”

Carson Flores gave a wry smile, thinking she didn’t even know the half of it.

“Indeed, I didn’t expect that Ms.

Miller is actually your cousin.”

Samantha Tate replied, “She’s my cousin by marriage, the blood ties are separated by several generations.

Maybe we both bear a strong resemblance to an older generation, everyone says we look like twins.”

Carson Flores replied, “You do look alike, it surprised me earlier.”

Samantha Tate asked, “Can you keep our arrangement between us and not tell my cousin?”

See, she doesn’t want to tell herself, so why should I play the gossip?

Carson Flores responded, “Sure!”

Samantha Tate thanked him, “Thanks, I’ll treat you to a meal to thank you for saving me last time.”

Carson Flores replied, “Another day.”

While texting Samantha Tate, Carson Flores’s phone suddenly rang.

He glanced at the caller ID, and his expression became subtly complex.

Shirley Miller.

“Hello?”

Shirley Miller’s voice was crisp, “The person who had lunch with me is my cousin; she came to have lunch with me.”

Carson Flores didn’t know her motive and just hummed in response, staying silent.

Shirley Miller was silent for a couple of seconds, then lowered her voice two notches, “I hope you’ll keep our agreement and remain confidential, not telling anyone.”

Another one!

Carson Flores smiled, “Don’t worry, I’ll respect the agreement.”

Shirley Miller visibly relaxed, “Thank you!”

Carson Flores replied with a smile, “Have a little faith in me, don’t always think of me as some kind of rogue.

After all, we’ve slept in the same room for so many days, and I’ve always behaved myself, haven’t I?”

Shirley Miller was silent for a few seconds before saying, “Hang up.”

Carson Flores put down the phone, shaking his head with a smile.

They think so alike; no wonder they’re sisters!

After work, Carson Flores received a call from Shawn Simmons, saying he was waiting for him at the company entrance.

Carson Flores arrived at the entrance to see a Mercedes-Benz parked, with Shawn Simmons standing by the curb, quietly waiting for him.

“President Simmons!”

“Mr.

Flores, please get in!”

Both men got into the car, and it glided away.

Not far behind them, inside a BMW X7, Shirley Miller wore a puzzled expression.

Was that Carson Flores who got into the car?

And that man who picked him up looked somewhat familiar?

Wasn’t he President Simmons of Hongxiang Group?

Shirley Miller shook her head, dismissing her own guess.

I must be mistaken!

What would someone like President Simmons be doing here, personally picking up Carson Flores?
