The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 12: Chapter 12 The Insider_1

Carson Flores was taken aback. That tone, seemed like a negotiation?

”Fine, I’ll just use the shower.”

Shirley Miller breathed a sigh of relief. She didn’t have a germ phobia, but the thought of another man lying in her bathtub made her feel uncomfortable.

Moreover, wasn’t this man seemingly a lecherous rogue with filthy thoughts?

Who knew if he would lie in the bathtub having lewd thoughts and doing unspeakable things?

Carson Flores was unaware of her inner thoughts and after pondering a bit, he said, ”Since we have signed a contract, I will honor it and see through this cooperation. You are the host here; I will respect your wishes and not do anything you don’t allow.”

Shirley Miller hummed in response, ”Grandpa said to appoint you as a senior executive, but that’s too conspicuous and would cause me a lot of trouble. We aren’t a real couple, so I don’t plan to do that. Do you have any objections?”

Carson Flores smiled and said, ”No objections, your word is law.”

Shirley Miller asked, ”Which department would you like to go to?”

Carson Flores casually replied, ”Anywhere is fine. I’ll be leaving in three months anyway, so ideally a laid-back position where I can just while away the days.”

Shirley Miller replied irritably, ”The company doesn’t keep freeloaders. You’ll be okay as a security guard, will you go?”

Carson Flores laughed, ”A veteran serving as a security guard, sounds quite fitting, I have no problem with that.”

Shirley Miller was momentarily speechless. What she had said was in jest, but she did not expect Carson Flores to actually agree.

No ambition!

A salted fish!

Inwardly, Shirley Miller had already tagged Carson Flores with several labels. Despite her words, she really didn’t dare to assign him to security; grandpa would definitely scold her if he found out.

After some thought, Shirley Miller said, ”Go to the sales department. Sales staff don’t need any special skills and management is relatively easy, so it’s suitable for your slacking off.”

”Okay!”

Hearing how readily Carson Flores agreed, Shirley Miller let out another sigh of relief.

Maybe this guy is quite reasonable after all.

It’s just that his character is bad, peeking at a woman’s chest, huh, such a hoodlum!

...

”Carson Flores, print these out for me.”

”Carson Flores, the water jug is empty, replace it.”

”Carson Flores, take these reports over to the finance department.”

After half the day, Carson Flores sat on his chair and sent a message to Shirley Miller.

”Mary, what’s the deal with the sales department? Why do I feel like I’m being targeted?”

Shirley Miller: ”I forgot to tell you, the head of the sales department, Tristan Curry, is from the Baker Family, the second-largest shareholder of the company, and they’re at odds with the Miller Family. I mentioned to HR, and they must have treated you as my man.”

Carson Flores rolled his eyes speechlessly. No wonder he’d been targeted by team leader Sergio Combs and an old employee all morning. Turns out he was being screwed over without cause!

”Are you trying to set me up?”

Shirley Miller: ”If you can’t stand it, you can resign, but you’ll have to explain it to my grandfather yourself.”

Can’t stand it?

Joke!

Worst case scenario, I’ll just play dumb. Who is afraid of whom?

Anyway, I don’t care!

In the afternoon, the old employee John Roth came over with a few folders and dropped them onto Carson Flores’s desk with a thud, ”Carson Flores, these reports, help me enter them into the computer...”

Carson Flores was leaning back in his chair, playing with his phone. He looked up at John Roth and said, ”Busy here, no time for that.”

John Roth was taken aback. What’s wrong with this kid? Wasn’t he still obedient in the morning?

Thinking of rebelling?

With a stern face, John Roth said, ”You’re new here and you don’t know anything. Doing this work can help you get acquainted with the job quickly...”

Carson Flores smiled, ”I don’t need it.”

John Roth threatened, ”These files must be entered into the system by the end of work today; otherwise, you are on your own.”

Carson Flores squinted slightly and stared at John Roth, shaking his mobile phone, ”On my own? I’m so scared. How about I make a call to Ms. Miller, and ask her if an employee who can’t handle his own duties should get an assistant? Also, as a new employee helping an old one with his work, if I can receive the old employee’s salary...”

John Roth’s expression changed dramatically, and his eyes instantly softened.

”You know Ms. Miller?”

Carson Flores stood up straight, staring coldly at John Roth, ”Isn’t it because I was arranged by Ms. Miller that you all are targeting me? Do you think I don’t know her?”

John Roth’s heart went cold in an instant, and sweat broke out on his forehead. He quickly picked up the folders from the table, forcing a strained smile on his face.

”Misunderstanding, misunderstanding. I really wanted to help you get to grips with the business as soon as possible. But since you’re unwilling, let it be. I’ll do it myself...”

Carson Flores sneered, no more need for pretenses; I’m the ultimate insider!

If you dare, go complain to Shirley Miller.

No guts?

Then shut it!

John Roth slinked away, then slipped into team leader Sergio Combs’s office. Shortly after, Sergio Combs came over with a folder, his face stern.

”Since you turned down John Roth’s help, you must be quite familiar with the business already. As you’ve just arrived, it’s unrealistic to have you expand the market. This folder contains all the details of the medical equipment sold by our team, along with a ready-made customer list. Just work through the list this month, and if you can close even one deal by month-end, you’ll pass your probation. Otherwise, you can go back to where you came from. We in sales team eight want sales elites, not someone who’s here to waste time and earn a basic salary!”

There comes the move.

Carson Flores glanced lazily at the folder and said nonchalantly, ”Fine, leave it there.”

Sergio Combs’s face turned sour, ”Carson Flores, please take this seriously. I am assigning you a task!”
