The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

43: Chapter 43 Out of Play!_1 43: Chapter 43 Out of Play!_1 “Carson Flores is just an outsider with no local connections or relationships.

This deal is just a dumb luck hit for him.

In other words, anyone replacing him could have landed this deal.”

“Isn’t Carson Flores still on probation?

We could say he hasn’t passed his probation period yet.

To show our seriousness, you, the team leader, can directly connect with the other party and take personal charge of this deal.

Waylen James will undoubtedly not stick his neck out for someone as irrelevant as Carson Flores and, instead, will agree to it since everyone likes to get a bit extra, right?”

John Roth had clearly thought through everything and laid out his scheme, “Once we’ve dealt with Waylen James internally, we’ll say that the client is unsatisfied with the contract and Carson Flores, and that they requested a renegotiation.

In the end, only with you stepping in, we managed to settle it.

Carson Flores won’t have a leg to stand on, even if he takes it to Ms.

Miller, since he has no evidence.”

A hint of a smile appeared on Sergio Combs’s face, “John Roth, you sure think on your feet!”

John Roth flattered, “It’s all thanks to the team leader’s regular teachings.”

Sergio Combs nodded, “You may leave now.

I’ll think it over.

If this works out, I won’t forget your contribution.”

After John Roth left, Sergio Combs lit a cigarette and fell into deep thought.

Once the cigarette had burned out, Sergio Combs made a decision.

If Carson Flores pocketed the commission of nine hundred thousand, his own reputation in sales team eight would be ruined!

He must kick him out!

Done!

Sergio Combs turned on his computer, reorganized a contract according to the equipment list, and then printed it out.

After verifying there were no mistakes, Sergio Combs took out a bottle of ink, gauged the proper spot, and then spilled the ink over the contract Carson Flores had brought back, the one with the signature, saturating both the contract and Carson Flores’s signature.

Sergio Combs pulled out tissues to absorb the ink, but the contract was obviously ruined.

Sergio Combs placed it into a plastic bag; he needed to take this document to Waylen James for him to see and then destroy, otherwise, wouldn’t his actions be unjustified?

Just before leaving work, Sergio Combs took the newly printed contract to the sales department manager’s office.

After completing the signatures and seals, he took both contracts and went straight off work.

Early the next day, Sergio Combs didn’t go to the office but drove directly to Red River Hospital.

Sergio Combs smoothly met with Waylen James.

When Waylen James heard Sergio Combs was from Miller Medical’s sales department, his attitude was quite warm.

However, after Sergio Combs finished speaking, the smile on Waylen James’s face disappeared.

“Where’s Carson?

Wasn’t he the one who dealt with me yesterday?

How come today, without even a heads-up, he’s been replaced?”

Sergio Combs angrily placed the ink-stained contract in front of Waylen James, “The young man is careless.

To think he could ruin such an important document as the contract.

I’ve already reprimanded him severely and have come to apologize to you personally.

I will take responsibility for this deal moving forward, ensuring no further mistakes.”

Waylen James looked at the contract with Sergio Combs’s name as the handler, “Does this mean the contract is now to be signed by you and me?”

Sergio Combs nodded affirmatively, “Yes, I have prepared the company seal already.

Waylen James only needs to add a signature, and then the process can continue with the hospital’s official seal.”

Immediately after, Sergio Combs lowered his voice, “As for the conditions Carson Flores agreed to with you, we will honor them.

In addition, due to our mishandling, I will make a separate gesture of apology.”

Sergio Combs silently indicated the number twenty with his fingers.

Waylen James stood up, “Help yourself to some tea; I need to use the restroom.”

Sergio Combs’s heart skipped a beat, and a bad premonition flooded his mind, but there was no way he could stop it; he couldn’t very well say, “Sign the contract before you go to the restroom.”

After a long wait, Waylen James returned to the office.

“I’m sorry, Team Leader Sergio, but I can’t sign this contract.”

Sergio Combs’s face instantly paled as he anxiously said, “Waylen James, there haven’t been any changes to the contract, and I will satisfy all your conditions, so why won’t you sign it?”

With a stern tone, Waylen James responded, “Mind your words.

We have standards and procedures for selecting suppliers.

I personally have no conditions.

Team Leader Sergio, please leave.”

Sergio Combs quickly apologized, “Waylen James, I didn’t mean that.

I just want to know, under what circumstances would you agree to sign this contract?”

Waylen James spoke coldly, “Send Carson Flores to me.

I will sign with him, or else, forget about it.”

Sergio Combs’s face turned ashen white.

An eighteen million dollar deal had slipped through his fingers!

If he couldn’t secure this deal, and Carson Flores went to Ms.

Miller, his end would be terrible!

Unable to accept it, he asked, “Waylen James, can you tell me why you insist on signing the contract with Carson Flores?”

Waylen James looked at Sergio Combs mockingly, “Do you think that Carson Flores landing this business was just good luck?

That he just happened to run into us needing something, so it wouldn’t matter if it were him or anyone else to get this deal?”

Sergio Combs’s complexion was pale, “Isn’t it?”

Waylen James scoffed, “This deal, without any bargaining, without any public or private conditions, an equipment list drafted, signed directly—do you think you, Team Leader Sergio, could have accomplished this?

Or maybe you think River Miller Medical is the only supplier, that we’re desperate to buy from you?”
