28: Chapter 28 Sleep in a Tent?_1 28: Chapter 28 Sleep in a Tent?_1 Darian Marshman’s face was congested, veins bulging on his neck; he felt as if his hand no longer belonged to him, the only sensation was pain!

Under everyone’s watchful eyes, Darian Marshman didn’t want to lose face, so he had no choice but to grit his teeth and endure.

However, due to the intense pain, his body couldn’t help but sway with the movement of Carson Flores’ hand, and his previously straight back hunched forward.

“Haha!”

Samantha Tate couldn’t hold it in anymore and burst out laughing.

She had already noticed that something was amiss; after all, when do two strange men shake hands so firmly and for so long?

Initially, she was prepared to interrupt and rescue Carson Flores, but then she realized that it seemed Carson wasn’t the one at a disadvantage, so she wasn’t in a hurry anymore, smiling and sneakily watching the drama unfold.

“You look like you’re meeting a leader, shaking hands with the leader like that, haha…”

Once Samantha Tate said that, everyone else also had awkward expressions on their faces.

And now that she mentioned it, Darian Marshman’s posture did resemble that!

Hunching his back, holding Carson Flores’ hand, and even swaying his body in time with Carson’s hand movements, he was the picture of utmost respect, indistinguishable from a subordinate meeting a leader.

Darian Marshman’s face was already red from the intense pain, and Samantha Tate’s mockery turned it straight to purple.

Men fear losing face, especially in front of women.

Even if the woman isn’t one’s girlfriend, just one scornful look or a single mocking word can be enough to set a man off.

Darian Marshman wanted to explode but he couldn’t.

He was in excruciating pain!

Just as Darian Marshman was ready to throw caution to the wind and ask Carson Flores to let go, Carson suddenly released his hand and then patted his arm, laughing heartily, “We must have a good few drinks later!”

Darian Marshman only felt his hand loosen, quickly withdrawing it and forcing a smile, “Of course.”

Seeing the astonished looks from those around him, Darian Marshman simply shook his hand and said nonchalantly, “You’ve got some real strength there, almost broke my hand.”

Carson Flores looked surprised, “Really, oh, maybe I was too excited to see you and couldn’t control my strength.

But we’re all soldiers here, shouldn’t be a problem, right?”

Darian Marshman cursed silently; could he admit he was hurt?

“No problem, no problem!”

Darian Marshman responded twice, turning his body, “Let’s divide up the stuff and get ready to move it.

We’ve got to walk the path up the mountain ourselves!”

Darian Marshman walked to the back of the vehicle, opened the trunk, and began to move items.

Ethan glanced at Carson Flores, who appeared nonchalant, then walked to the back of the vehicle only to find Darian Marshman with the upper half of his body hidden in the trunk, face contorted, furiously rubbing his right hand.

“Let me help you.”

Ethan offered a pretext, moved beside Darian Marshman, peered into the trunk pretending to help with the items, and asked in a low voice, “What happened?”

Darian Marshman placed his hand in front of Ethan and whispered, “Is that guy’s hand made of iron or something?”

Ethan looked and was immediately startled.

Darian Marshman’s hand was purple with several clear finger marks.

“Damn it, is he that strong?”

Darian Marshman glared, “It’s not just your matter with him anymore.

He made me lose face; I’m going to take him down!”

Ethan nodded, “Okay, we’ll find a chance later!”

Everyone divided up the items and set off along the secluded mountain path.

“Many people used to camp here before, but ever since a bear attacked a campsite, few people come to camp here, and this place has gradually become desolate…”

Samantha Tate was startled, “There are bears here?”

Ethan laughed, “This mountain range connects to the forest in the back.

It’s normal for wild animals to wander out.

I heard there are not only bears but wolves too.”

Samantha Tate asked in amazement, “Isn’t that very dangerous?

Can’t we camp anywhere, why choose such a dangerous place?”

Darian Marshman spoke up with a laugh, “Miss Tate, don’t worry, I’ve brought a crossbow.

If a bear really shows up, it’ll be a bonus for our meal, grilled bear paws!”

Ethan joked, “Samantha, Darian is an elite member of the Skyhawk Special Combat Team, very skilled.

He will make sure we’re safe.

Besides, wasn’t Carson also a soldier?

His skills must be good too, so why worry about wild animals?”

The group followed the mountain path to a small waterfall by a pool of water, which was the intended camping site for this trip.

“There are quite a few fish in this pool that taste excellent.

We’ve brought fishing gear, so we’ll barbecue and fish in the afternoon, aiming to catch plenty so that we can eat grilled fish and drink fish soup tonight!”

Ethan clapped his hands and laughed, “Let’s set up the tents first and, to prevent possible dangers, let’s keep the tents close together.”

Carson Flores was arranging the tent Samantha Tate had brought and puzzled, asked, “Just one tent?”

Samantha Tate nodded naturally, “Yeah.”

Carson Flores pointed to himself, “So where do I sleep?”

Samantha Tate replied, “It’s a two-person tent, isn’t that enough?”

Carson Flores looked at Samantha Tate in surprise and questioned in a low voice, “We’re sleeping in the same tent?”

Samantha Tate nodded as if it were a matter of course and answered in a low voice, “We’re lovers, isn’t it normal to sleep in the same tent?

Besides, if we don’t act close, how are we supposed to make Ethan give up completely?”
