Three Towers Game

Chapter 330: Chapter 121 To Catherine

”Got it, by the way, big brother, the apocalypse is certain, you and I both know that.”

”That place won’t become any better because of your words.”

Deceit Tower, huh?

Yes, no matter how you try to awaken the goodness in others or give them hope, Deceit Tower will always be perilous.

Wen Xishu didn’t care though, he sensed he was about to be forcibly removed, and before leaving finally, he hadn’t forgotten one thing.

”How exactly do you upgrade this thing?”

Wen Xishu pulled out the Scorpio’s cheat knife.

Scorpio glanced at it:

”My siblings have occupied many areas, and so have I. Use it well in my territory, or use it to break through in other areas, and it will accumulate experience.”

”When the time is right, it will naturally evolve. I’m looking forward to your performance, brother, don’t disappoint me.”

After saying that, Scorpio vanished.

Not just Scorpio, but the surrounding scene also began to crumble.

Wen Xishu knew this was the forced construction of a new scene, marking the changes upon returning to the Deceit Tower.

He also received a prompt at this moment.

[John Leon found true happiness. For him, true happiness wasn’t about creating a game that made players smile. Upon introspection, he realized life shouldn’t be trapped by others’ mistakes, but should embrace existing happiness.

John Leon finally found something more joyous than playing Bomberman with his father during childhood—making games with Catherine and other partners was what made him happiest.]

[Due to John Leon’s major internal shift, several places in Wind City will undergo changes.]

[The difficulty level of exploring Wind City will be drastically reduced. The Deceit Tower’s levels in Wind City will be adjusted to the third level after this exploration, but the deepest mainline explorer in this run will retain their current level rewards.]

[The player who progresses the deepest in the mainline game will still have the qualification to challenge the original game and access the original Easter eggs. Failure to clear won’t result in death but in experiencing the ’New Apocalypse’ from the start.]

[Players who have paid asset values will experience new levels, with the asset values refunded. Hidden professions will be canceled, but players can switch from ordinary professions. Specific gameplay will be explored by ’players’ themselves.]

Wen Xishu’s heart missed a beat, huh? The deepest mainline game challenger, isn’t that himself?

This means others will play a new version of the apocalypse after the reset, but he’ll continue challenging that dark apocalypse?

”Why do I feel like John is targeting me with these updates? They seem so aimed at me.”

But Wen Xishu was still somewhat relieved. He had been wondering if there could be a downgrade since there was an upgrade with the Slaughter Tower.

If the game’s difficulty changed, its core changed, could it still stay on the fifteenth level of the Deceit Tower?

This reset’s prompt gave him the answer.

Lowering difficulty and level essentially meant John was trying his best to reduce the survival difficulty of the ’apocalypse’ with his own power.

Just like Scorpio said, the apocalypse’s descent couldn’t be changed, it would come. Even without John’s zombies, there would be normal kinds, rare kinds, elite kinds...

Wind City would only become more terrifying. But now, maybe there were indeed survivors in Wind City.

At least, John used his power to turn the apocalypse into a different, less brutal form.

Of course, this only applied to other players.

...

...

Deceit Tower, fifteenth floor.

When Wen Xishu opened his eyes, Charles Yang’s body was still warm with blood.

There was still a collar on his neck that would explode and electrocute. But at this moment, everyone still thought...

”Number 245” was enjoying a pleasant dinner with the boss.

Due to Wen Xishu’s quick actions, the assassination didn’t cause any commotion.

Wen Xishu calmly searched Charles’s body, the boss-dropped gold coins were something he couldn’t miss.

At the same time, Wen Xishu glanced at the ’chat interface.’

Everything was as he had expected; everyone’s memory had been reset.

Whether it was Ye Lingfeng, the domineering CEO, the urban soldier with a baby face, or the worker Zhang Hai and Kate, they were all experiencing the new apocalypse.

The new apocalypse was also a survival game, but its style had become...something like Dead Rising, a zombie mowing game.

[Baby Face Wolf: Now, my chainsaw is level six. With this me, if you unleash the demon inside me, can you still handle it?]

[Ye Lingfeng: Heh, interesting, my drone technology is already level five. Do you think you can escape my gaze? In this age, a chainsaw, really?]

[Zhang Hai: Is there any free weapon I can get? I’ve earned 2000 asset points from working, but rocket launchers are so expensive... Is there any place where wild rocket launchers drop on the ground?]

Baby Face Wolf and Ye Lingfeng were shocked. Zhang Hai had earned 2000 asset points from working?

They had spent all their initial asset points, but Zhang Hai just kept earning more.

Zhang Hai wasn’t bragging about having a rocket launcher either. Along the way, worker Zhang Hai had always been using various free weapons...

The shop had a knife for sale, but he wouldn’t buy it; he would gather materials himself to make one.

The shop had a gun for sale, but he wouldn’t buy it; he would risk his life to scavenge a gun shop already occupied by zombies.
