Three Towers Game

Chapter 327: Chapter 120 I Come from the Apocalypse_4

This level’s plan hasn’t been finalized yet. It’s a level that no one other than him knows about.

Wen Xishu sighed lightly:

”Look at the ’God’ next to you, he’s about to destroy this city. Even though the apocalypse will inevitably come, and even though most people here will turn into either zombies or other monsters, at least fate has given them a choice.”

”I’ve always liked a saying: a game is about players making interesting choices.”

”But John, what you’re about to do is to take away all of our choices.”

”In the third level of the game, I went to the Golden Mansion, which is also where the Tengyi Group’s office is.”

”There, humans are forced to fight zombies. It’s very dark. And to break the deadlock, players must use even darker and more twisted roles to defeat the enemy.”

”I wonder, can this still be called a game? From the start, you force players to make choices in ways that are not fun at all. Yet, the overall tone of your game is so dark...”

”Players seemingly have two choices, but everyone knows what it costs to play the good guy in that game, so they can only play the bad guy. They... have no choice. Can such a game still be called a game?”

John suddenly shouted:

”Who are you exactly? How do you know about content that hasn’t been revealed yet?”

Wen Xishu didn’t answer John’s question. He moved on to the next topic:

”In your childhood, the happiest moments of your life were playing games with your father. That simple, pure happiness.”

”But then your family had a mishap. One day, you found that your father no longer smiled because of playing games.”

”You blamed everything on money. From that point on, you started avoiding problems, attributing all evil to money.”

”By the time you were in college, you thought you were enjoying the fun of games and the pure joy that belonged to games. But when your roommates discussed valuable gear, you, with your sensitive heart, started to avoid it again...”

”You wondered, how could that be happiness? How could showing off be pure game joy?”

John’s body trembled.

Wen Xishu said:

”But John, why can’t there be showing off in games? Why can’t the joy of buying items with money be a kind of pure happiness?”

”Because you loathe money, you always think that money deprives people of the joy of games. There are indeed many such examples.”

”But the reason you hate money is because of your father. You never dare to face this fact. There could be many reasons for the disappearance of your father’s smile.”

”He was in debt and had no heart for games. He longed for money and had no heart for games. He had problems with his wife and had no heart for games... Or maybe, he just found the game boring and didn’t want to play.”

”He didn’t want to stay in that family anymore. He didn’t want to endure his wife’s scolding. He was a gambler, he lost bets, and in front of you, he lost the dignity of a father. All of this stemmed from his greed, arrogance, and pride.”

”But you refused to accept these. You couldn’t accept that your father had become a ’lowlife’. If your father couldn’t be wrong, then you created a new villain.”

John’s fists clenched tightly as he continuously shook his head, saying:

”That’s not true, that’s not true...”

His eyes were bloodshot with anger. But Wen Xishu didn’t care. As long as Scorpio didn’t make a move, even if he stood still for John to hit, he wouldn’t die from it.

Wen Xishu said:

”Money has become the villain in your life. The advantage is that from then on, you became exceptionally pure in everything you did because you didn’t care about profit. I completely believe that someone like you can become a role model for many, like Catherine.”

”The downside is that because you refuse to face certain problems, your views have become narrow.”

Wen Xishu stood up and looked down at John. The Scorpio beside him seemed non-existent, as though the whole matter had nothing to do with him.

Scorpio actually didn’t expect that ”brother” would take this angle. The departure of John’s father was indeed the first tragedy in his life.

Originally, he thought Wen Xishu had just skimmed through the CG content. But now, it seemed he sensed Wen Xishu’s ”task interpretation” ability.

For many, it might seem logical to attribute the loss of John’s father’s smile to gambling, which could be blamed on money.

But Wen Xishu knew that this was the wrong conclusion.

And from that point onward, John had been wrong. So much so that in the dorms during college, Wen Xishu felt that John... was not pure but rather extreme.

”In many fields, obsession is considered a good quality. This also masks your shortcomings. People like Catherine and everyone on the team believe you are very pure, having no worldly desires.”

”But what they don’t know is that you are simply loathing money.”

”Following this logic, when your mentor betrayed you, you didn’t blame his moral failing. You first blamed the money.”

”When your roommates enjoyed the acquisition of loot, you didn’t see their genuine happiness. You thought their values were corrupted by money. You blamed the money.”

”When your teammates finally succeeded, selling the game to a big company for fame and fortune, you didn’t see it as a victory. You only felt defeated by the Demon King called money. Again, you blamed the money.”
