Three Towers Game

Chapter 304: Revised: Chapter 117 The Game of Devouring Desire

Wen Xishu read many comments from other players.

Child-faced Wolf’s, Ye Lingfeng’s, Tokugawa River’s, Tam’s.

These people seemed already deeply trapped in their desires, unable to extricate themselves.

Wen Xishu increasingly felt——the devouring had begun.

Everyone seemed to have fallen into a living world, slowly losing themselves.

...

...

Tam indeed encountered some trouble.

At the start of the game, only six asset points were needed to obtain the hidden profession, Hero.

For Tam, this was incredibly tempting; his desire was to become a powerful overlord.

In prison, Tam was often bullied, but occasionally, he bullied others.

The strong wielded knives against the stronger, while the weak, having been bullied, only vented on those even weaker.

For a long time, Tam longed for respect, to have his own power, wealth, status, and beauties.

When he saw the hidden option, his first reaction was, this was designed just for him!

In this game, I am the chosen one.

So without any hesitation, Tam spent six asset points in the shop to exchange for the Hero profession.

He didn’t even think about why a zombie-apocalypse game would have a profession so at odds with the rest.

Tam soon had a group of followers—the followers he had once dreamed of but never had, now suddenly appeared.

The Hero even had its own initial territory. His followers were fierce and vigorous, almost too strong, more excited to see zombies than zombies were to see humans.

But soon, Tam discovered his weapon was broken.

How could he go without a gun? In this monster-infested world, his followers wouldn’t obey a leader without a weapon.

The Hero must have a gun, a weapon that could intimidate others.

At this moment, a prompt appeared.

[Great Hero, possessor of a hidden profession, for just thirty asset points, you can obtain a Desert Eagle with infinite bullets. Its immense power will make all your followers fear your weapon. With it, you will be the king of Wind City!]

Thirty asset points, that was no small number. When he wanted to exchange, he found he had nowhere near thirty asset points.

Tam had six asset points, obtained from his previous explorations of Slaughter Tower.

After painstakingly exploring Slaughter Tower a few times, Tam ultimately only gained an ”asset value assessment” of twelve points.

At the start of the game, Tam thoroughly enjoyed being a Hero, feeling almost too good, commanding his followers to charge into battles, bullying whoever he wanted, beating up whoever he disliked, even dogs on the street howled and made way for him.

But now, just a short while into the game, right as he was getting addicted, a crisis appeared.

[Without a weapon, you will lose your current status. You may reselect a profession. Good luck.]

Actually, at this moment, the ”game” gave Tam a second chance.

But Tam didn’t take this chance, shouting into the void:

”Didn’t they say everything could be quantified! Don’t I have anything worth exchanging for 24 asset points?”

After Tam finished speaking, he indeed got a response. Perhaps it was because Tam could interpret tasks and think about the reward in task descriptions.

A new prompt appeared in Tam’s view.

[Are you willing to trade five years of your life for 200 asset points? Of course, if you perform outstandingly in the game, and defeat powerful enemies, you can also cash out asset points. Minimum cash-out amount: 500.]

Five years? 200?

Tam felt he had a long life ahead of him, and that he could earn asset points in the game. He almost without hesitation chose to exchange.

At this moment, Tam’s asset points became 206.

With pleasure, Tam paid for the weapon with infinite bullets, still having 176 points left.

Next, in the power struggle process, relying on this handgun, he conquered several territories, providing his followers with temporary refuge.

There were also beauties offering themselves. In a sense, Tam was living much better than Wen Xishu on the other side of Wind City.

But everything brought by spending had to be maintained with even more spending.

Tam enjoyed the admiration of women, the support of his followers, but a bigger crisis soon emerged.

A sniper appeared on the other side, attacking Tam’s territory with military-grade weapons. The enemy’s firepower was unusually fierce, almost armed to the teeth.

Tam had no choice but to spend on a rocket launcher.

He bragged in the chat interface that he now had a weapon of mass destruction like a rocket launcher.

Once again, Tam defeated his enemy.

But next, mutated zombies began to besiege Tam. More beautiful women awaited his rescue.

More powerful followers, fiercer enemies, more luxurious mansions...

Everything was waiting for Tam to conquer, to obtain, to plunder!

Tam’s asset points quickly ran out. 128 asset points could trade for an armed helicopter, and 648 could buy ten draws for premium equipment.

Without enough asset points, Tam almost without hesitation applied for another life sacrifice.

Unfortunately, Tam’s application was rejected. Not because Tam had insufficient years left, but the response he got was:

[The value of your life has decreased.]
