Three Towers Game

Chapter 308: Original text: Chapter 117 The Game of Swallowing Desire_5

The sanctuary is located in the city center. It can be said to be the core of the core area. In the city center of Wind City, there is an airborne fortress. The fortress is built atop a seventy-story building.

This building, originally named Golden Mansion, is a landmark structure in the game’s setting history.

Before the apocalypse, this building housed the most luxurious hotels, various entertainment venues, and was a popular spot for internet celebrities to take photos and check-in.

All the decorations here are filled with two words — high class.

It is said that a mysterious millionaire bought the entire building a few months before the apocalypse and transformed the top few floors into a military-styled renovation.

Looking at it now, this millionaire seems like a transmigrator.

This information came from Wen Xishu’s friend — Blind.

War reporter Blind, after crying alongside the witch for a long time, seemed to have vented his emotions. Thinking that since he wasn’t going to die, he decided to share some information with Wen Xishu.

Wen Xishu’s true thoughts were known only to Wen Xishu.

But to Blind, Wen Xishu’s actions seemed to genuinely be saving everyone.

[Blind: What’s your current mission, Wen Xishu?]

[Wen Xishu: Heading to the airborne sanctuary in the city center. Do you have any clues about this place?]

So Blind explained the situation of this place.

Blind also made some of his own guesses and additions.

[Blind: The advantage of a war reporter is knowing this place from the beginning, but I think it might not be as good as imagined.]

[Wen Xishu: Don’t worry, I have a plan. By the way, have you thought it through?]

What Wen Xishu asked was actually if Blind had regained his will to survive.

But Blind didn’t answer.

At this time, Blind’s experiences were quite interesting, but let’s set those aside for now.

At this time, Ye Lingfeng and Baby-faced Wolf were both immersed in their own worlds. Meanwhile, Blind, Zhang Hai, and Kate were carefully observing, especially Zhang Hai.

He then asked about Wen Xishu’s id.

The first reaction was, of course, disbelief, thinking it was just another imitator. But what was different this time was... you could see the name just by chatting.

Wen Xishu’s recent remarks also made a few people frequently see Wen Xishu’s name.

Zhang Hai was sure he wasn’t mistaken; this was Wen Xishu. The same name he saw in the capsize hut on the second floor.

In fact, Blind and Kate also discovered this.

But interestingly, none of the three spoke up, all pretending not to recognize it.

Blind didn’t care, thinking, whether you’re a bunker legend or a small fry, it doesn’t change the fact that I’m going to die.

Zhang Hai thought that it wasn’t necessary to force things. If you perform well enough, the big shot will naturally be willing to take you along.

He became a fitness coach because he didn’t like flattering big shots, which is why his performance was always poor.

Kate was similar. His life was the hardest among everyone, and he had gradually developed a self-reliant character.

In short, none of the three spoke up. But Zhang Hai and Kate understood one thing, which was that whatever Wen Xishu said must be taken seriously. It could very likely be the key to passing.

So no matter how tempting paid items were next, they must resist! They couldn’t end up like Tam, becoming part of the game.

...

...

Meanwhile, Wen Xishu, after understanding part of the game’s background, started climbing the Golden Mansion.

The Golden Mansion lived up to being the most luxurious building; each floor covered a vast area.

Each floor was also filled with danger, occupied by numerous zombies. This building was a rare seven-skull rated structure.

Out of seventy floors, only the top few had strong defenses, while the remaining sixty-plus floors were packed with zombies.

The number of zombies here was tens of times more than in the Violet Garden.

Wen Xishu kept killing zombies along the way.

After killing thirty zombies, Wen Xishu finally completed all the prelude quests, triggering the true mission.

[Please choose the mission you want to take.]

[Mission One: Fight for Freedom.]

[Mission Two: Turn the Tables.]

Wen Xishu was not unfamiliar with this kind of brutal selection system. This time, the game gave Wen Xishu fifteen seconds to choose, giving him ample time to think.

”Slave of freedom... let me guess, what could be in this building.”

”Generally speaking, by the third mission, the game should involve a main quest, rather than a mere humanity test with no storyline progression?”

”Based on the information Blind provided, this place was transformed into a militarized defense stronghold three months before the apocalypse.”

”This indeed seems like something a transmigrator could do, but the game shouldn’t have such a transmigrator setting, otherwise the savior role wouldn’t be given to the players.”

”And this mission probably has something to do with the invitation letter, and the game’s main theme is to create a savior. A savior naturally needs to save... saving likely doesn’t mean killing all the zombies, that would be too big a task.”

”And the owner of this building, did he know about the approaching apocalypse early on, hence specially creating a sanctuary?”

Wen Xishu seemed to have some answers in his heart. This time he chose Mission Two — Turn the Tables.

”I wonder if the real world has a ’Wind City’, and what influence this game has on reality.”

After making the choice, Wen Xishu had an extraordinarily unique experience.
